Anti-Palestinian racism report calls for Canada to recognize May 15 as Nakba Day

A new report from the Islamophobia Research Hub at York University calls on governments across Canada to increase oversight on how universities, schools, police forces and Parliament deal with the recent spike in instances of anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism.

The report also calls on all levels of government in Canada to officially recognize May 15 as Nakba Day. Palestinians mark the day after Israel declared independence in 1948 as the beginning of the destruction of their homeland.

Halifax mall murder plotter who ‘carried the swastika with pride’ denied parole

An American serving a life sentence in Canada for plotting a Valentine’s Day massacre at a Halifax mall with the help of two Nova Scotians she met online has been denied full parole.

Lindsay Kanitha Souvannarath, of Geneva, Ill., was arrested at Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Feb. 13, 2015, before they could carry out their plan the next day, which “included wearing ‘death outfits’” to Halifax Shopping Centre, “throwing Molotov cocktails, and then opening fire in the food court,” said her recent parole decision, released Tuesday.

On Rotherham and the reality of two-tier policing

Child rape is ignored while a Christian preacher is arrested

Last week, three men were found guilty of raping young girls in Rotherham. The rapes took place 25 years ago, but the wheels of justice move very slowly for grooming gang offenders. The three men are Sageer Hussain (who is already in prison for other rape offences), Kesur Ajaib and Mohammaed Makhmood.

The first girl was 14 years old when she was raped in 1999 by Ajab and Makhmood. Ajaib made conversation with her and plied her with alcohol before luring her into an alleyway where he raped her. Makhmood raped her on another occasion after leading her to a nearby graveyard.

What Does a Defining Journalist of the Woke Era Think Now?

Taylor Lorenz on Trump, Luigi, and the politics of violence

For many, Taylor Lorenz was one of the defining media personalities of the woke era. She was a “star reporter” at the New York Times and pioneered a characteristic style of controversy-filled social media engagement. Politically, she was reliably left-wing: Lorenz supported extreme coronavirus lockdowns, engaged in cancellation campaigns, and boosted the most radical ideas of the Black Lives Matter moment.

A few years later, however, the scene had shifted. Lorenz left the New York Times for the Washington Post. She departed the Post under a cloud of scandal, having caused numerous headaches for the paper, including doxxing a popular social media creator and calling President Biden a “war criminal.”

Mark Carney has a golden opportunity to redefine Canadian identity and defence

What do the two words “national defence” really mean in Canada? What are our core values and vital interests today, and how can we invest responsibly in their promotion and protection going forward? These are core questions for all Canadians to debate. They speak to the security we must now strengthen at home, and the sacrifices that will be required to support these efforts. Canada needs a modernized strategic culture that reflects a renewed understanding of and approach to security and defence, and is firmly grounded in active public debate and clear national priorities.

I don’t think the defence of Canada is feasible without the US.

How Hamas Sees the West’s Recognition of ‘Palestine’

The recent announcements by France, Britain, Canada and other countries that they intend to recognize a Palestinian state have emboldened the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas. Its members, on October 7, 2023, were behind the worst crime committed against Jews since the Holocaust. The massacre resulted in the murder of more than 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals and the wounding of thousands. In addition, another 251 Israelis and foreign nationals were kidnapped to the Gaza Strip, where 50 hostages – 30 believed dead and 20 believed alive – are still held captive.

The Canadian drone industry is spinning up — with lessons from Ukraine

It’s been 24 years since what is widely considered the first lethal drone strike: a Predator UAV attack on an al-Qaeda vehicle convoy in Afghanistan just nine weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks.

The strike killed Mohammed Atef, son-in-law of Osama bin Laden and head of the group’s military operations, and made clear to all that 21st century warfare was going to see a large role for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Large, expensive fixed-wing drones such as the Predator and Reaper still have their place. Canada has ordered a fleet of similar drones expected to be up and running in 2033.

Howard Stern’s Radio Show ‘To Be Canceled’ After $100M Contract Wraps Up — After Iconic Shock Jock Was Accused Of ‘Making Fake Twitter Accounts’ To Snag A-List Guests

The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM is on the way to getting axed, according to sources, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The 71-year-old’s $100million contract is set to end later this year, and it does not look as if the subscription satellite radio provider is eager to bring back the shock jock.

Never a fan, and then he went left.

MANDEL: If she’s rehabilitated, why is Bathtub Girl killer fighting lawyer licensing hearing?

No, it’s not too much to ask of someone convicted of murdering their own mother.

In 2003, when she was 15, she and her older sister drowned their alcoholic mother in the bathtub of their Mississauga home after plying her with vodka and Tylenol 3s laced with codeine. The teens then gleefully collected the $133,000 in life insurance and boasted about their sick crime.

Supreme Court of Canada weighs appeal application from Muslim convicted in Via Rail terror case

OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada is set to decide Thursday whether to hear the appeal of Raed Jaser, who was convicted of planning to commit murder for the benefit of a terrorist group.

It’s the latest chapter in a long-running legal saga that began 12 years ago with charges against Jaser and Chiheb Esseghaier for plotting attacks, including the planned sabotage of a Via Rail passenger train.

The Crown alleged that Jaser and Esseghaier had agreed to kill Canadian citizens to force Canada to remove its military troops from Afghanistan.

Our complicit elite is to blame for every sexual assault by an illegal migrant

It is a fantasy to expect sex-starved men from misogynist cultures to respect our values and our women

I was having coffee in the garden with John, the lovely man who comes to help me with all the jobs I can’t manage (a temperamental pond pump and rampant blanket weed among them), when conversation turned to John’s concern for his daughter.

Kirstie’s journey to college takes her past a former RAF base now occupied by illegal migrants who crossed the Channel in small boats. Their ranks have swollen recently to several hundred as the Government struggles to fulfil its promise to empty asylum hotels by the end of this Parliament. Not by deporting the legions of undocumented young males from Africa and the Middle East – of course not, silly! – but by secretly redistributing a majority of those migrants from hotels into HMOs (houses in multiple occupation) and military facilities, presumably in the hope that the public will be less likely to notice and kick off.
