SHAMELESS: No ‘March for Life’ Story in WashPost, Page 1 Anti-ICE Protest Story

The Washington Post on Saturday demonstrated the heartfelt belief of liberal journalists that protests are only legitimate and newsworthy if they advance liberal goals. Conservative protests are somehow illegitimate and inauthentic. Friday brought a perfect test of whether they could cover a newsworthy protest on both sides, and the the Post failed it miserably.

Mark Carney to accept role on Trump’s Gaza ‘Board of Peace’

BEIJING AND OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney will accept a role on U.S. President Donald Trump’s newly formed Gaza “Board of Peace,” according to a senior Canadian government official.

Trump will serve as chairman of the board, which includes U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former U.K. prime minister Tony Blair, and which is designed to oversee the U.S. peace plan to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

Life is surreal.

The Myth of the ‘Liberal International Order’

This “golden age” of “peace and prosperity” was filled with bloodshed.

In his latest Bloomberg op-ed piece, Hal Brands, the globalist academic at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and a fellow at the Trilateral Commission, claims that the world is gradually transitioning away from the “liberal international order” of the post-1945 era. We have entered, he writes, a “more cutthroat age” where “raw strength” matters more than rules. Brands’ evidence: the U.S. destroys drug boats and captures an indicted foreign leader; great powers redraw or attempt to redraw borders; international law and arms control are unraveling while “strategic rivalry intensifies.” Who is largely to blame? You guessed it: President Trump.

Restaurants under pressure as Canadians dine out less to save money: report

A new report shows restaurants are under pressure as consumers steer away from dining out, while rising operational costs squeeze profit margins.

A new Restaurants Canada report finds three in four Canadians are eating out less, often because of the high cost of living. That share is even higher among those aged 18 to 34 at 81 per cent.

Restaurants Canada chief executive Kelly Higginson says it’s an “alarming” trend for the food service industry.

Cost and out of control tipping are huge factors but for me 3rd world staffing via the TFW etc… creates an unease nearly impossible to overcome.

Covid, thalidomide and a brief history of medical ridicule

THE philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer stated that all truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; third, it is accepted as self-evident.

Some intellectual fun would be to identify such cycles in our own lives. Creative individuals who bring forward ideas for open debate and discussion enter this three-part sequence at its most difficult phase. Periods of ridicule can be protracted, and they require resilience and patience to navigate. The final transition to a social discourse of the entirely self-evident can be even more remarkable. Crowd-thought and mass narrative may execute an about-turn without so much as a by-your-leave. Accountability or apology for propaganda later dropped from mass circulation is rare. Some creative individuals who advance truth may never enjoy wider acceptance in their own lifetime.

Lauren Southern, Former Right-Wing Commentator, Says Andrew Tate Assaulted Her

Ms. Southern’s account of a 2018 encounter, made in a self-published memoir, adds to the allegations against Mr. Tate, the online influencer. “She is lying through her teeth,” Mr. Tate’s lawyer said.

In February 2018, Lauren Southern, a right-wing Canadian political influencer, met Andrew Tate on a trip to Bucharest, the Romanian capital.

Ms. Southern, then 22, was gaining prominence with provocative videos that expressed anti-feminist and anti-immigrant views. Mr. Tate, a British American kickboxer living in Romania, was building his own online brand of flashy hyper-masculinity — and was years away from public scrutiny over accusations of rape and human trafficking.

On that 2018 trip, Mr. Tate strangled and assaulted Ms. Southern in a hotel room while she was intoxicated, according to a self-published memoir that she released on Tuesday. Chapters of the book, “This Is Not Real Life,” that involve Mr. Tate were published on her Substack.

Steve Paikin on the end of TVO’s The Agenda – and 19 years of agenda-free programming

During 19 seasons hosting the hour-long daily show’s in-depth discussions and interviews, Paikin grew his reputation as one of Ontario’s – and Canada’s – most trusted television journalists.

Indeed, the Hamilton-raised (and Hamilton-proud) broadcaster was selected to moderate four federal and five Ontario provincial leaders’ debates during that time.

Paikin, who turned 65 earlier this month and will remain at Ontario’s publicly funded English-language educational media company in a reduced capacity, spoke to The Globe and Mail in the middle of The Agenda’s final week of shows.

Kathy mortified the entire roster of guests when in an appearance on Paikin’s show she flatly stated that no she could not be bothered to watch Obama’s inauguration as if it were some sort of sacred progressive rite.

Wish I had that clip.

Adam Zivo: Many ‘non-binary’ people are often just attention-seeking heterosexuals

Let’s be real: many of the people who’ve begun identifying as “non-binary” over the past decade are simply chasing social and professional clout. While the worst offenders are “spicy straights,” who want to feel special and oppressed, this charade is also employed by some gays and lesbians who yearn for more moral capital within progressive circles where homosexuality is no longer in vogue.
