My great compatriot Kate McMillan says that the “one bright spot” in yesterday’s Canadian election was that Trudeau cabinet minister Maryam Monsef lost her seat. The current “Minister for Women and Gender Equality”, Ms Monsef was discussing the fall of Kabul a week or two back and referred to “our brothers the Taliban”.
