Professor Avi Loeb says unusual meteoroid, named IM1, left interstellar metals in the Pacific Ocean
A controversial Harvard astrophysicist claims to have found material that “originated from outside the solar system” for the first time in history.
Professor Avi Loeb recovered fragments from the Pacific Ocean in June to determine whether they could prove an extraterrestrial artefact crashed there in 2014.
He has now provoked condemnation from peers for claiming that an early analysis suggests the deep sea discovery may have an “extraterrestrial” origin and could be proof of higher intelligence.
