As a transit fan, it was hard not to feel worried, sad and a little angry seeing the new numbers on fare evasion provided to the TTC’s audit and risk management committee last week.
The agency is now estimating that it lost a staggering $123.8 million in 2023 because of people not paying their fares when they board subways, streetcars and buses.
I wonder if they have a fare evader profile?
