Union representing 30,000 city of Toronto workers starts countdown to strike

Toronto’s largest workers union has requested a no-board report, which could put them in position to strike in as little as three weeks.

CUPE Local 79, which represents 30,000 city employees, including nurses, child care workers and restaurant food inspectors, voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike last month, citing low wages.

Toronto needs a DOGE.
