Ryan Routh trial: Trump’s ‘would-be assassin’ silenced by judge

The man accused of attempting to assassinate President Trump at his golf course in Florida last year was silenced by a judge as he gave his opening statement at trial.

Ryan Routh is representing himself at the trial in Fort Pierce, Florida, after dismissing his two public defenders. He has pleaded not guilty to five charges, including attempting to kill a presidential candidate, being a felon in possession of a firearm and assaulting a federal officer.
