Families Minister Nahanni Fontaine has apologized for sharing an Instagram post that Manitoba’s premier called “awful” in the wake of the assassination of U.S. right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
“I apologize for sharing a post yesterday on the murder of Charlie Kirk. Violence has no place in our democracy. Political debate is achieved with words and discussion. In a world too often divided, we should strive to show empathy to everyone, even those we don’t agree with,” Fontaine said in a written statement sent to the Free Press by a spokesman for the NDP government Friday morning.
HOLY SHLIT. Nahanni Fontaine, the Minister of Families in Manitoba, Canada made a post online CELEBRATING the ass*ssination of Charlie Kirk.
She is now attempting to walk back her statements. Too late. The internet is forever.
ABSOLUTE EVIL.
She must RESIGN! pic.twitter.com/dJTwKxeOLA
