Canada’s giant immigration industry will have to get used to ‘intense’ public debate

Douglas Todd: Worries about media coverage are emerging from the thousands of lawyers, agents and others in Canada paid to smooth the way each year for millions of migrants.

When I was asked to address members of the immigration division of the Canadian Bar Association, I expected an audience of maybe 25 to 50 lawyers.

But last Saturday, 400 immigration lawyers showed up at the Victoria Convention Centre to hear what three Canadian journalists and a think-tank member had to say about the media’s impact on migration.

The panel was asked to address immigration lawyers’ fears that heightened media coverage is “sparking intense public debate” and influencing “how immigrants are perceived and how decisions are made.”

Feck the weasel Lawyers.

We need a Trump to shut Carney’s Immigration scam down before Canada is lost for good.

I will settle for annexation rather than see Canada turned into a 3rd World Dumpster.

Chris Selley: Why would B.C. pay more for ferries just to spite Donald Trump?

British Columbia’s transportation minister claimed Friday that buying new ferries from European shipyards would have cost roughly $1.2 billion more than buying them from a Chinese government-owned shipyard in Weihai, Shandong province, which is a city roughly the size of Montreal that I had never heard of until this week. China knows how to build cities. They burst into existence from nothing, like popcorn. China also knows how to build ships, and highways, and high-speed rail, and just about anything else you would care to name, better and more efficiently than the Canadian public service can realistically comprehend.

Someone’s gettin paid.

Iran was behind two assassination attempts on President Trump, Israeli PM Netanyahu claims in bombshell interview

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Iran Sunday of orchestrating the two failed assassination attempts on President Trump during his third presidential campaign last year.

Netanyahu characterized Trump as the greatest threat to Iran and its ambitions for acquiring a nuclear weapon — claiming that’s why the rogue regime tried to murder him, in a shocking moment during an interview with Brett Baier of Fox News.

Valedictorian told to stay home after making pro-Palestinian remarks in grad speech

The valedictorian at a west Ottawa high school says she’s been told not to come to school Monday after she made pro-Palestinian remarks during a speech at her commencement ceremony.

Elizabeth Yao largely focused on highlights from the past four years at Bell High School during her speech on Thursday, including a memorable waffle fundraiser and the days spent dozing off while reading Shakespeare.

Her comments on the war in Gaza came at the end, after a land acknowledgement.

Our brainwashed Valedictorian will no doubt rise to leadership in the Brave New Replacement Canada.

Canada’s schools resemble those under Stalin or Hitler.

They all indoctrinated children to venerate evil as virtue, lies as truth.

What is different is that the economic and ideological coercion of the teachers unions and colleges provided the muscle that allowed their Long March to succeed rather than the guns of revolution.

You would not be far off speculating that core subjects have been degraded into deep debates about how many transgender Palestinian children can dance on a fake residential school grave.

Parents and politicians with rare exception have said little as questioning teachers or schoolboards began to resemble a rendezvous with the Peoples Court.

Ideological capture of our institutions and mass immigration from incompatible cultures did this to our country.

US tells states: Follow Cass Review in treatment of ‘trans’ children

The US government is pressuring states to halt funding for puberty blockers for children and follow the UK’s Cass Review.

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which provides health coverage to more than 160 million Americans, urged directors to adopt the findings of the report, which concluded children who think they are transgender should not be rushed into treatment they may regret.

In a letter sent to medical directors, seen by The Telegraph, the agency said that Britain has “diverged” from the United States and that the National Health Service’s new approach is more effective.

18 members of ‘violent’ criminal organization charged with extortion, tow truck-related offences, Peel police say

Peel police say they have dismantled a “violent” criminal organization that is responsible for a series of extortions, frauds, and tow truck-related offences in the region.

Details of the probe, dubbed Project Outsource, were announced at a news conference in Peel Region on Monday morning.

Police say 18 people have been arrested and are facing nearly 100 charges, including extortion, participating in and instructing a criminal organization, and staged collision offences.

Diversity crime fatigue is setting in.

A Battered Iran Signals It Wants to De-Escalate Hostilities With Israel and Negotiate

DUBAI—Iran has been urgently signaling that it seeks an end to hostilities and resumption of talks over its nuclear programs, sending messages to Israel and the U.S. via Arab intermediaries, Middle Eastern and European officials said.

In the midst of a ferocious Israeli air campaign, Tehran has told Arab officials they would be open to return to the negotiating table as long as the U.S. doesn’t join the attack, the officials said. They also passed messages to Israel saying it is in the interest of both sides to keep the violence contained.

But with Israeli warplanes able to fly freely over the capital and Iranian counterattacks inflicting minimal damage, Israeli leaders have little incentive to halt their assault before doing more to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites and further weaken the theocratic government’s hold on power.

What would the point of this be? Regime change seems the best course of action. This is nothing more than a Hail Mary by the Mullahs in my view.

Poilievre is reaching out to unsuccessful candidates for feedback, say Conservatives: ‘he’s doing a post-mortem himself’

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre is reaching out to unsuccessful candidates from this year’s election to get their feedback and to gauge the level of support for him within rank-and-file party members ahead of the mandatory leadership review, say Conservatives.

“He’s doing a post-mortem himself,” said an unsuccessful candidate who only agreed to speak on a not-for-attribution basis because the conversation with their leader was private. “He wants to hear from everybody. It’s an individual check-in from him. He’s obviously trying to rally support, trying to figure who’s coming with him in the next election.”

The mountain fortress Israel must destroy to topple Iran’s nuclear programme

One key site remains unscathed, however: the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant. Located 20 miles from the ancient, central city of Qom, and about 100 miles south of Tehran, Fordow is one of two nuclear enrichment sites in the country. The other, in Natanz, was reportedly partially destroyed in the attacks.

The events of the past few days appear to have proved that Israel has near-total air superiority over Iran. Iranian armed forces have been powerless to counter the Israeli airstrikes that have destroyed critical buildings and wiped out swathes of the Islamic Republic’s military leadership.

At least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists have also been killed by the unilateral operation, codenamed Rising Lion, which appears aimed at decapitating the country’s nuclear programme.

Report: Israeli Car Bombs Take Out Iranian Nuclear Scientists

Multiple Iranian nuclear scientists were reportedly eliminated by car bombs. Israel has assassinated a staggering number of Iranian military leaders and scientists this week, but the car bomb rumors have yet to be confirmed.

Protesters march through downtown Toronto to call out corporate landlords

Won’t someone think of the cockroaches?

A group of Toronto advocates marched alongside a giant fake cockroach during a protest Saturday as they called on the city to provide more affordable housing and spoke out against corporate landlord practices.

Several people held large cockroach props with speech bubbles containing the names of some major corporate landlords in the city as they marched toward those companies’ offices in the Financial District.

I empathize with the tenants but they will find no succor under a the combined Carney-Chow regimes.

The LPC’s Mass-immigration policy for profit scam has exhausted affordable housing and will continue unabated while the communist Chow will assist in maintaining the housing shortage to stay in power. Manufacturing poverty is her business because it’s her vote bloc.
