Carney walks back tough trade talk, nullifying most retaliatory U.S. tariffs

Exemptions announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney have effectively nullified most of the retaliatory tariffs Canada had imposed on trade with America despite previously pledging to support “maximum impact” trade measures.

According to Oxford Economics, the carve-outs cancel out nearly all of the retaliatory tariffs that Trudeau and Carney both introduced in response to the Trump administration.

The Left’s Outcry Over South African Refugees Exposes Their Anti-White Bigotry

In the Biden era, we saw about infinity pseudo-refugees stream across the southern border from every corner of the third world. “Give us your poor, huddled masses, yearning to be free,” the Democrats chanted, as they called us callous racists for daring to suggest their professed humanitarianism was anything but. Yet in the Trump era, all it took was a handful of Afrikaners to lay the real intent of their immigration program bare.

The lib-left establishment isn’t pro-migrant, and they’re certainly not concerned with taking in genuine refugees fleeing political violence. They’re just anti-white.

Southport mother Lucy Connolly cruelly kept waiting for appeal verdict

CRUELTY upon cruelty. Lucy Connolly, one of the most egregiously persecuted Southport protesters, appealed yesterday against her jail sentence of two years and seven months for a tweet which she deleted and apologised for. The Appeal Court did not need time to make a judgement. But they did. She still doesn’t know whether she’ll have to rot in jail with serious criminals for another two years. That the judge delayed making a decision – which should be obvious to any reasonable lawyer – is yet another damning indictment of our injustice system.

Colby Cosh: Dear Mark Carney, please cut the republican crap

Our new prime minister attracted some criticism in March when he staged an unfamiliar piece of American-style political theatre, inviting cameras to record him signing an official-looking instrument to knock out the federal carbon tax on consumer fuels. What I should say is that he attracted a surprising and encouraging amount of criticism, and not just from my fellow wacko Tristin Hopper. Canadians are not exactly hyper-aware of the distinction between a head of state and a head of government, and even opposition politicians could not necessarily have been expected to bristle at Mark Carney’s attempt to role-play as the ultimate executor of law. I would, in fact, expect them to take notes and prepare to steal the idea.

Donald Trump has scrambled the old class allegiances

US president Donald Trump has disrupted the nature of class politics. In a reversal of long-standing allegiances, working-class Americans – including many minorities – have shifted towards the MAGA right. Meanwhile, the well-educated, the corporate elites and the government-dependent have generally veered leftwards.

Rather than the relatively simple Marxist notion of a proletarian conflict with the bourgeoisie, we are seeing a more splintered and nuanced class politics across the West. These divisions are not simply driven by income, race or education, but increasingly also by how people earn their living, and how tariffs, policies and regulations impact their daily lives. These new class tensions threaten to push politics towards the fringes, both left and right. As society frays, the era of consensus politics is firmly at an end.

The new age of shamanism – Westerners pray for riches and renewal

I’m lying on my back in a dark room, eyes closed, the scent of a joss stick in the air, while a voice summons my spirit guides to heal me. I’m here for an appointment with Louise, a qualified “shamanic healer” in Hackney. Louise places her hands first on my temples, then on my shoulders, belly and knees, breathing deeply and occasionally breaking out into a rhythmic hum. Today, Louise is just channeling healing energy to clear away any blockages, but she often works with people who are seriously ill, struggling with money worries, or searching for love. After nearly an hour, she thanks the spirits and informs me that she managed to unblock a lot of trapped energy. She also tells me that I have a deep psychic connection to ancient Egypt, and that my spirit animal is a gorilla.

Looks like Poop Fairies just aren’t enough …

When it comes to homelessness, my heart is in danger of bleeding dry

I’m a bleeding-heart liberal, voting green or orange, or strategically red. I’m also fortunate: I make a good living and am happy to be taxed to help improve the lives around me. Most of my family and friends share my sociopolitical views, which is comfortable and reaffirming.

Lately, however, I’ve sensed a subtle shifting of the plates in my social-justice core, relating to a specific quadrant of lefty groupthink: the dual crisis of addiction and homelessness.

Liberal gets mugged by reality story ahead.

Trans activist arrested for threatening to KILL pro-Trump crusader Nancy Mace and her kids

A teenage trans activist has been accused of threatening to assassinate Nancy Mace, the most outspoken lawmaker in Congress on transgender issues.

Samuel Theodore Cain, 19, of Greenville, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with threatening the life of a public official on Thursday, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced.

Cain, who goes by ‘Roxie Wolfe’ online, posted in April: ‘I’m going to assassinate (redacted) with a gun and I’m being 100% dead a**,’ according to a copy of the arrest warrant.

Paris Theatre Faces Financial Ruin After Migrant Occupation

The Théâtre de la Gaîté Lyrique in central Paris is on the brink of bankruptcy after a nearly 100-day illegal occupation by migrants—many of them falsely claiming to be minors—left the historic venue with over €3 million in financial losses. Despite co-funding the theatre and owning the property, Paris’ Socialist-run city council has now said it will not provide any additional economic support to help it recover.

DEA assessment fingers Canada as major fentanyl source as guns flow freely across Northern border

Blame Canada.

In its latest National Drug Threat Assessment, the US Drug Enforcement Agency is blaming Canada for a blizzard of illicit fentanyl from so-called ‘super labs’ located on this side of the border.

In its latest assesment, Canada was mentioned seven times as a source of drugs and precursor chemicals despite the DEA not mentioning Canada once in its 2024 report.

Leaked Canadian military report shows many new recruits are quickly leaving

The Canadian military insists it’s getting a handle on its recruiting crisis, but a new leaked internal report obtained by CBC News suggests many of those who come through the door quickly leave in frustration over the inability to get trained and into the job they want.

In addition, the effort to retain experienced soldiers, sailors and aircrew was dealt an important blow recently when a Department of National Defence office — set up to find ways to keep people — was defunded.

The struggle to recruit new members to both the regular and the reserve force has been a major preoccupation as the Forces face a shortage of up to 14,000 qualified personnel.

US recruiting has rebounded under Trump. Can’t imagine why!

Politico: Democrats Realizing Their Biden Nightmare Is Just Beginning

Good. Now if the Protection Racket Media starts realizing it too, we might actually get somewhere.

For some reason, Democrats apparently never considered what a cover-up on the Joe Biden scale would do to their reputations. The rise of the Now It Can Be Told media literary genre has forced them to reckon with the obvious, which is that (a) everyone knows they lied about Biden’s cognition for years, and (b) no one trusts them. This time the media is too busy distancing itself with The Owen Maneuver to cover for them, as Hakeem Jeffries discovered on CNN earlier this week …

His family should be jailed for elder abuse.

Vancouver streets are full of so much human waste they need ‘poop fairies’ to clean it up

Vancouver, renowned for its natural beauty and laid back lifestyle, has a human waste problem so bad that businesses have hired “poop fairies” to speed the cleanup on city sidewalks.

Dodging human and dog waste has become a real problem for pedestrians navigating the city’s sidewalks, and it’s not just a problem plaguing the Downtown Eastside. The city’s own feces removal response program can’t seem to keep up so business improvement districts have hired the “poop fairies.”
