Iranians accused of spying in UK were asylum seekers

Three Iranian former asylum seekers have appeared in court accused of spying for Tehran.

The three men, who had been granted leave to remain after arriving in Britain in lorries and small boats, were charged with engaging in conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service between Aug 14 last year and Feb 16, this year, following an investigation by counter-terror police.

Mostafa Sepahvand, 39, Farhad Javadi Manesh, 44, and Shapoor Qalehali Khani Noori, 55, all living in London, appeared at Westminster magistrates’ court flanked by eight prison officers after being arrested earlier this month on suspicion of committing offences contrary to the National Security Act 2023.

But we get a big piece of the Fentanyl trade in return so there’s that …

China emerging as top customer for Canadian oil shipped via Trans Mountain Pipeline

China has emerged as the top customer for Canadian oil shipped on the expanded Trans Mountain Pipeline, ship tracking data shows, as a U.S. trade war has shifted crude flows in the year since the pipeline started operating.

China’s new interest in Canadian oil comes as U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war has strained relations between longtime allies Washington and Ottawa. It also reflects the impact of U.S. sanctions on crude from countries like Russia and Venezuela.

The Enemy Within: Muslim Migrants Who Keep Their Evil Ideology

Many Muslim illegal migrants who move to Western nations are happy to take welfare and benefit from our greater material prosperity yet retain their barbaric Islamic ideology. This is the enemy within.

Not all, of course, but too many Muslim immigrants to Western countries (especially the males) aim to turn those countries into Islamic sharia hellholes too. They import their misogyny, violence, hatred, and sexual perversion from their Muslim nations straight to their new homes. Take two recent stories, one from America and one from the UK.

‘It’s Outrageous That You Banned American Products From Your Shelves’

OTTAWA — Pete Hoekstra thumbs through an imaginary document, and pauses for effect: “This is a serious proposal — pile one.” Then he raises a second document. “I can’t believe this,” he guffaws. “This is a joke.” Straight to the discard pile.

That, says President Donald Trump’s ambassador to Canada, is how it will go — one way or another — when newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney submits a proposal on a revamped economic and security agreement with the United States.

Salman Rushdie Scared Away From College Speech By Muslims & Their Useful Idiots

Renowned novelist Sir Salman Rushdie has backed out of a college commencement speech at the eleventh hour amid intensifying backlash over “troubling statements.”

Claremont McKenna College President Hiram Chodosh wrote in a campus-wide email Tuesday that Rushdie, 77, had decided to withdraw as graduation keynote speaker for its May 17 ceremony, the Daily Bulletin reported.

“This decision was his alone and completely beyond our control,” Chodosh wrote. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to Sir Salman’s visit to CMC and have extended an open invitation to him to speak on our campus in the future.”

Jesse Kline: Keffiyeh-wearing kindergarten teachers create hostile environment at Toronto school

Problems with political activism and antisemitism seeping into Canadian schools came to the fore last fall after Toronto students were taken to a rally against environmental contamination on an Indigenous reserve that quickly descended into an anti-Israel hate-fest. But this was only the tip of the iceberg: our schools have become cesspools of Jew-hatred and woke identity politics, yet most of the time, the public never hears about it.

Mother of Two Murdered by Illegal Alien Gang

Another American woman has been added to the ever-lengthening list of illegal alien criminals’ victims, leaving her two children without a mother.

Larisha Sharell Thompson was murdered by six illegal aliens, ages 13 to 21 years, who had just tried to commit a robbery too. It is unclear why they killed her except that they were obviously completely lawless young thugs. Don’t expect Democrats to be as empathetic to Larisha as they were and are to criminals like George Floyd, Jordan Neely, and Karmelo Anthony — when black Americans are murdered by illegal aliens, Democrats look another way.

Jamie Sarkonak: Steven Guilbeault clings to the myth of peak oil

The first notable act of our newly-minted culture minister, Steven Guilbeault, was to recite to media scribes the myth of peak oil. Asked whether pipelines would continue to be a disruptor to Alberta-Ottawa relations, he replied:

“The Canadian energy regulator, as well as the International Energy Agency, are telling us that probably by 2028, 2029, demand for oil will peak globally and it will also peak in Canada.”

Hollywood’s biggest bore? Why Robert De Niro badly needs a new script

There are many things to say about the two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro. How he has acquired, and maintained, a reputation as the finest actor of his generation, despite appearing in more bad films than any thespian of comparable talent, save his friend and occasional co-star Al Pacino. How he has made a fortune out of pursuing business ventures outside of acting, most famously investing in the Nobu restaurant group, but also in everything from jukebox musicals (We Will Rock You) to real estate; he is said to own a substantial proportion of the upmarket Tribeca neighbourhood in his native New York.

But has De Niro ever made any public comment about any of these things? No, he has not. Or at least, if he has, it will be a mumbled couple of words.

TDS has seized up his brain.

The gold-plated peacenik in the White House

(JNS) When Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election last year, many in Israel thought they’d dodged a bullet. The Democratic Party was viscerally hostile to Israel, while Trump was considered the greatest friend the Jewish state had ever had in the White House.

Now the Israelis are wondering whether they have escaped one nightmare to find themselves in another.

They were blindsided by the Trump administration’s decision to stop attacking the Houthis after the Islamist group promised to end its attacks on shipping in the Red Sea while continuing to fire missiles at Israel.

Chinese Hide Sabotage Devices in Solar Power Inverters, U.S. Officials Claim

Brussels’ green targets are already damaging enough for consumers, businesses and, of course, farmers. But significant—albeit unsurprising—reports this week highlight that the reliance on Chinese goods in particular to ‘achieve’ these goals could have a far worse impact on its own.

U.S. officials have identified ‘rogue communication devices’ not listed in product documents in some Chinese solar power inverters. They spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, and even refused to name the Chinese manufacturers, but did say the devices could skirt firewalls and switch off inverters remotely, or change their settings, which could in turn trigger widespread blackouts.

Canadian military’s new recruitment tool faces rollout problems

The Canadian military has launched a new online recruitment portal to try to modernize the application process and address a personnel crisis.

But technical glitches emerged during the launch, prompting concerns that frustrated applicants may be discouraged from joining at a time when the ranks are short more than 14,000 troops and U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened Canadian sovereignty.

… One applicant who spoke to Global News described the portal as “very slow and not remotely state of the art.” He asked not to be identified because of concerns it could jeopardize his application, and says it took dozens of attempts over multiple days to set up a profile.
