NELSON: It’s the West that will pay the price of Jagmeet Singh’s disaster

Appropriately in future years Canadians might only recall Jagmeet Singh’s tenure as NDP head honcho, while waiting with nervous trepidation for a root canal.

Yes, getting the Liberals to throw Singh that small bone of agreeing to provide almost free dental care for a narrow subset of Canucks — something we couldn’t afford as a nation, of course — was the sum total of his pay-off for keeping the Justin Trudeau regime in power, way past its best-before date.

Trump trolls Dems in Easter message, slams Biden as ‘highly destructive moron’

President Trump on Sunday resurrected one of his favorite Easter traditions by going on an epic tirade against foes including former President Joe Biden — who he called a “highly destructive Moron.

“Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country,” Trump, 78, wrote on Truth Social.

Lorne Gunter: Poll shows fear a major motivator steering Canada toward disastrous fourth Liberal term

This week, Postmedia and the pollsters Leger released the most disturbing poll of the federal campaign so far.

No, not one showing the Liberals under Mark Carney with a double-digit lead. I never believed those polls anyway.

I believe the Liberals are ahead, for now. And so long as the Liberals can keep distracting voters from their atrocious record of the past 10 years and keep focusing on Donald Trump’s tariff and annexation threats, they will tragically stay in the lead until April 28.

Maher: Environmental Laws Have Helped China Dominate Rare Earth Market

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that one reason why China has control over the global rare earth minerals market is because zoning and environmental laws have made it too difficult for America to mine for rare earth minerals itself.

Watch Carney on this file, my bet is that if elected he will help ensure China maintains its dominance by feeding the “environmentalist” efforts to halt rare earths mining in Canada.

Freed: Canada’s federal election is a classic western movie showdown

Welcome to Carneymania, the biggest political rage since the (Pierre) Trudeaumania of my youth. Only months ago the Liberal party was so far behind the Conservatives you couldn’t see them in the rear-view mirror.

Now Carney leads by several points in the polls in the most staggering turnaround in Canadian political memory. But he owes it all to one person who has been campaigning furiously for him.

Supreme Court victors getting death threats in gender ruling backlash

The campaigners who won the Supreme Court battle over the legal definition of a woman have been inundated with death threats and misogynistic abuse since the landmark judgment.

On Wednesday five judges sided with the campaign group For Women Scotland (FWS), which argued that single-sex spaces and protections should apply only to people born female. It marked the end of a long-running legal battle and is expected to have big implications for how transgender issues and sex-based rights are applied across Britain.

Conrad Black: Liberals, not Trump, are the true threat to Canadian sovereignty

With only a little over a week to go before the federal election, and with the debates out of the way, the wheels of the Liberal campaign for a fourth-straight term are finally starting to wobble on their axles. The providential political fantasy land in which the Liberals launched the campaign — the complete fraud that Canada’s continued existence was being threatened by the United States — has receded. U.S. President Donald Trump and his senior colleagues are now processing a queue of 130 countries filing into Washington offering concessions to contribute towards the elimination of the completely unnecessary United States trade deficit of around $1 trillion. Another resounding Trump victory is in the making and Canada is not an inordinately large part of it, although there will be challenging negotiations.

Shameless Chinese firms advertise ‘inflatable boats for refugees’

Chinese companies are selling “inflatable boats for refugees” online and advertising them to people smugglers.

An internet search returns dozens of suppliers promoting “high-quality refugee boats” on Alibaba, a major Chinese e-commerce site, and promising fast shipping to Europe.

It is understood the Home Office is in talks with Beijing about cracking down on the sale of such vessels, which are believed to have been used in the Channel.

Carney Says China Presents Major Foreign Interference Threat to Canada

Liberal Leader Mark Carney says China poses one of the biggest foreign interference threats to Canada.

Carney made the remarks at a campaign stop in Niagara Falls on April 18.

The Liberal leader had been asked by a reporter to expand on his comments at the English-language leaders debate on April 17, where Carney said China is the “biggest security threat” facing Canada.

Drag queen group mocks Jesus, Christianity in Easter show marketed to kids

A San Francisco drag queen group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a self-professed “order of queer and trans nuns,” is sparking controversy in the days leading up to their annual transgender Easter event.

This year’s event, which is being called “No Easter without the T,” is meant to honor transgenderism and features a children’s Easter egg hunt and a costume contest encouraging attendees to come dressed in drag as “Hunky Jesus and Foxy Mary.”

UK Blames Trump: Barking at female staff and blocking doorways – teachers warn of rise in misogyny and racism in schools

A rise in misogyny and racism is flooding UK schools as pupils ape the behaviour of figures such as Donald Trump and Andrew Tate after exposure through social media and online gaming, teachers have warned.

A survey by the NASUWT union found most teachers identified social media as “the number one cause” of pupil misbehaviour, with female staff bearing the brunt. Teachers also raised concerns about parents who refuse to accept school rules or take responsibility for their children’s behaviour.

One teacher told the union: “A lot of the students are influenced by Tate and Trump, they spout racist, homophobic, transphobic and sexist comments in every conversation and don’t believe there will be consequences.”

Sliding in the polls, Jagmeet Singh fights to be heard as voters abandon the NDP

OTTAWA — Jagmeet Singh took a deep breath.

Hours before, Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister and Singh’s former governing ally, had rocked the country by announcing his intention to resign.

With a crucial election now on the horizon, it was the NDP’s last chance to distance itself from Trudeau’s unpopularity and its association with the Liberal government — and position itself for success in the coming race.

“Justin Trudeau’s Liberals,” he started in a forceful voice before pausing, “have let down Canadians.”

He wanted that pension so badly he destroyed his own party by supporting the Liberals.

Thousands join anti-Trump protests across US

Feeble.

Thousands took to the streets across the US on Saturday to protest recent actions by President Donald Trump.

Known as “50501”, for “50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement”, the demonstrations were intended to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War.

From outside the White House and Tesla dealerships and at the centres of many cities, protesters expressed a variety of grievances. Many called for the return of Kilmar Ábrego García, who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador.
