Mayor calls out Carney Liberals’ response to antisemitic violence

Vaughan’s Steven Del Duca said ‘a lot of officials … (are) too busy counting votes, rather than standing up for Canadian values’

At about 8 a.m. on March 7, about eight hours after a flurry of bullets were fired into his city’s BAYT synagogue, Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca arrived at the shul to show his support. Within the hour, hundreds of congregants would arrive for Shabbat services, seeing the police tape at the front doors, the barricades and dividers, and a lot of York Regional Police officers.

When mentally ill teenagers ask to be put to death

Dr. Menno Oosterhoff leaned forward in his living-room chair, took a sip from his coffee mug, and told me about the first time he ended a patient’s life.

She was 18 years old and had been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, an eating disorder, and autism. Despite years of treatment, she was still bedeviled by negative thoughts, and she told Oosterhoff, a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry in the Netherlands, that she couldn’t stand any more suffering. He suggested deep brain stimulation, an invasive procedure sometimes used to treat severe OCD. She insisted that she wanted help dying instead.

Woke Canadian school bans children from eating in its cafeteria and lunch room to avoid offending Muslim students during Ramadan

A Canadian school has sparked outrage after it designated ‘No Food’ zones at certain times inside its cafeteria in order to be inclusive to Muslim children who are fasting for Ramadan.

Lunch areas at Fairview School in Calgary have been named ‘food free’ to support students undertaking the religious fast, according to an email sent by administrators.

The email informed parents that the cafeteria was a ‘No Food Space’ during the first half of lunch for younger pupils in grades 4 to 6.

President Trump Explains Why the Iranian People Haven’t Risen Up

President Trump defended the Iranian people for not yet rising up against their government as Operation Epic Fury enters its third week.

While another mass protest could help ensure the current regime is ultimately prevented from retaining power, Trump acknowledged the brutal reality facing ordinary Iranians. The regime has openly threatened to shoot and kill anyone who attempts to rise up, a threat made all the more credible after security forces slaughtered more than 30,000 protesters earlier this year.

Gen Z Canadians more likely to support terrorist-backed Iranian regime: poll

When it comes to Canadian opinions on the war in Iran, a new poll finds that a not insignificant portion of the nation’s youngest adults believe Canada should stand with the Iranian regime in defence against the U.S. and its allies.

According to recent Association for Canadian Studies polling, one-fifth (20 per cent) of respondents in the 18-24 cohort said Ottawa should “politically support” the current Iranian leadership.

The Fall of Britain — and the Warning for America

Britain’s retreat from its history and identity offers a cautionary tale for an America approaching its 250th birthday.

For reasons too dull to disclose, I didn’t become an American citizen till age 26, 20 years after arriving in the U.S. from Cuba. I had to drive from Washington to Baltimore with a good friend, Tom, who would testify that I was worthy of the honor. The two of us sat outside the immigration office waiting for Tom to be called in first. I was already a rock-solid conservative by then, more so than my buddy, and we got into a deep political argument. When the immigration officer popped her head out and called for Tom, he looked at me and said, “I don’t know now.” Of course he endorsed me. But that’s how challenging it was back then to become a U.S. citizen. Today, you probably don’t even have to speak English.

The evolution of Mark Carney

It’s always weird to be reminded that the world as it is – to borrow a phrase, if I may – was a very different place not so long ago, and that what now seems constant and obvious was once strange or unknown.

The phone you unthinkingly grab from your pocket to do, well, everything, used to be a crazy technological magic trick. The person snoring on the couch next to you in front of the TV was once a first date. The new building that went up in your neighbourhood at first looked like it dropped out of the sky, but now you can’t remember the block without it.

“Good” is the new “Lying” I see.

What the Pro-Iran Protests Reveal About Foreign Influence

Questions of outside funding surround the ANSWER Coalition’s protest network

The American strikes on Iran have opened both a new military front abroad and an old front at home. Mere hours after the bombs began to fall, leftist activists took to the streets with signs and chants denouncing American “imperialism” and demanding “Hands off Iran” and “No New US War In The Middle East.

It’s no coincidence that these protests bear similarities with the sometimes-violent anti-ICEpro-Cubaanti-Israel, and pro-Maduro rallies that have dotted the country in recent months. Behind many of these disruptions is the ANSWER Coalition—Act Now to Stop War and End Racism—an umbrella organization composed of various far-left groups.

Hamas Crimes No One Talks About

As international attention is focused on the Iran war, the Palestinian Hamas terror group has stepped up its crackdown on the Palestinian people as part of its effort to reassert its control aggressively over the Gaza Strip.

Hamas’s measures are in violation of US President Donald J. Trump’s plan for ending the Israel-Hamas war, which erupted on October 7, 2023 when the Iran-backed terror group invaded Israel and murdered more than 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals.

Canadians Worry Middle Class or Future Generations Will Bear Cost of Government Deficits: Poll

Nearly three-quarters of Canadians are apprehensive about surging government deficits, and many worry middle-class taxpayers or future generations will have to shoulder the responsibility for public overspending, a new survey suggests.

Seventy-one percent of respondents to a recent Leger poll say they worry that Ottawa, as well as several provinces, are exceeding their financial resource limits even as trade tensions with the U.S. and other challenges threaten Canada’s economy.

Only 19 percent of survey-takers said they had no concerns, while 10 percent said they were uncertain.
