Meta’s oversight board has found that a Facebook video wrongfully suggesting that the US president, Joe Biden, is a paedophile does not violate the company’s current rules while deeming those rules “incoherent” and too narrowly focused on AI-generated content.
The board, which is funded by Meta – Facebook’s parent company – but run independently, took on the Biden video case in October in response to a user complaint about an altered seven-second video of the president.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith faced an icy reception in Ottawa Monday as a Liberal cabinet minister from her province called her proposed transgender policies “reckless” and “irresponsible” and left the door open to a court challenge.
Speaking to reporters shortly before Smith opened her province’s new office in Ottawa, Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault said he’s prepared to fight what he called “the most draconian and harmful policies for young people in the country.”
Referring to proposed policies that would demand that some Alberta trans kids get parental consent to use their preferred names and pronouns in school, Boissonnault said Smith is intent on “forcing kids out of the closet before many of them are ready.”

After China’s prolonged and strict COVID lockdown destroyed her business, a woman decided to leave her two young children with family to travel to Mexico and cross into the U.S. through a hole at the border.
She’s far from alone: Chinese migrants are the fastest growing group trying to cross into the U.S. from Mexico. Last year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported 37,000 Chinese citizens were apprehended as they illegally crossed the border; that’s 50 times more than two years earlier.
Many of the migrants say they made the journey to escape China’s increasingly repressive political climate and sluggish economy. The mom, through a translator, told “60 Minutes” that what motivated her was more than economic reasons and could be summed up in one word.

The posts by Wright, who is known for her vehement criticism of Israel, have angered Iranian exiles as she showed herself observing the strict Islamic dress code for women.

The extreme vilification of anyone who has concerns with gender transition as it relates to children is a very bizarre phenomenon. The people engaging in the vilification are totally disconnected from reality.
The latest round of this panic began when Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced restrictions on gender reassignment surgeries and related procedures for minors. These include a ban on such surgeries for those under 18 years of age and also prohibits the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youth 15 and under.
