Canada warned to cut off military exports to Israel or face legal challenge by Hamas supporters

A coalition of Canadians and Palestinians is urging Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly to cut off military exports to Israel, warning it may bring a legal challenge if Ottawa fails to act.

The group, which includes Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights and Al-Haq – Law in the Services of Man, an independent Ramallah-based NGO, argues that Ottawa’s Export and Import Permits Act prevents the federal government from issuing permits to export military goods and related technology to Israel owing to the “substantial risk” these could be used to commit serious violations of international law and serious acts of violence against women and children.

The “substantial risk” test was added to Canadian law in 2018 by then-foreign affairs minister Chrystia Freeland.

Seems legit – Al-Haq Launches Landmark Palestinian Coalition Report: ‘Israeli Apartheid: Tool of Zionist Settler Colonialism’

Grab some popcorn and enjoy as Identity Politics bites Freeland and the Liberals in the ass.

This is from last nights Yuk Yuk’s protest against a Pro-Israel fundraiser. As Kath used to say – Too stupid to really be Jewish.

Bonus – OPSEU flag spotted! Canada’s public service unions need to be smashed.

Germany tests 4-day workweek amid labor shortage

It sounds counterintuitive: While Germany, like many countries, struggles to find enough workers, dozens of companies are starting an experiment that will see employees work a day less. In February, 45 companies and organizations in Europe’s largest economy will introduce a 4-day workweek for half a year. Employees will continue to receive their full salary. The initiative is led by the consulting firm Intraprenör in collaboration with the non-profit organization 4 Day Week Global (4DWG).

‘Poilievre is worse than Harper’: Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are clearly bugged by the Conservative leader

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is convinced he is really getting under the skin of Justin Trudeau and his Liberals. He may well be correct.

“Yes, I’ve had it up to here with Mr. Poilievre,” Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson, one of the steadiest voices in the Trudeau cabinet, said in an interview this week.

Health Minister Mark Holland launched into an impassioned, lengthy diatribe at the microphone on Wednesday, lamenting how Conservatives were profiting from fear and anxiety in the country. It was prompted by questions on how the Liberals are being massively out-fundraised by the Conservatives, according to the latest reports.

Gwyn Morgan: The runaway cost of government construction projects

Costly woke obligations adding to price tags of already over-engineered projects

Not so long ago, a $10-million government infrastructure project was regarded as a significant expenditure. But now $10 million doesn’t come close to funding projects as simple as a firehall or new police station. Here in the Victoria region, a new firehall in the District of Saanich originally budgeted at $27 million has jumped to $45 million. In the Langford District the estimated cost of a new RCMP building is an incomprehensible $82 million. Just north of Victoria, the cost of what was to be a simple flyover eliminating a dangerous left turn across the busy Patricia Bay Highway has spiked from its original estimate of $44 million to $77 million.

BBC: Don’t Hire People Who Are ‘Dismissive’ of Diversity

In what critics say illustrates left-liberal “groupthink” at the British state broadcaster, a recruitment policy document at the BBC instructs staff not to hire people who are “dismissive and derisory” of diversity and inclusion.

The leaked recruitment policy document, revealed by The Daily Telegraph, obliges recruiters to ask applicants to “explain what diversity and inclusion means to you and, should you be successful, what opportunities do you see for you to promote, celebrate or encourage diversity and inclusion in your role?”

Jewish groups condemn ‘toolkit on teaching Palestine’ at York University

Prominent Jewish groups, including an on-campus association, are reacting to the charge that a York University union distributed a toolkit to teaching assistants, advising them to divert tutorials to discuss “Palestinian liberation” and conflict in the Middle East.

On Tuesday, York University said it was seeking a meeting with CUPE Local 3903 over a document circulated called a “toolkit on teaching Palestine” that asked union members to “collectively divert” lessons to the topic of the Middle East during the week of Jan. 21.

Scientist who thought we ‘we’re all going to die from climate change’ reveals 7 reasons she was wrong

A scientist who believed humans would die from the climate crisis has made a U-turn and now believes the issue may have been overblown.

Hannah Ritchie, a data scientist at the University of Oxford, claims that doomsday warnings of floods, widespread famine and deaths from disasters are overshadowing the progress that has been quietly made in recent years.

She pointed out how emissions per person peaked in 2012 and remained the same since, along with the notion that organic food is not more climate-friendly and that the dreaded 2.7F of warming is not a tipping point into oblivion.

Ottawa denies it told CBC to cut 3.3 per cent of its budget, as executives claimed

OTTAWA – The federal Liberal government is denying that it told CBC/Radio-Canada to cut its budget by 3.3 per cent, despite executives with the public broadcaster insisting that’s part of the reason they’re laying off 10 per cent of their workforce.

The Treasury Board, which oversees spending in the federal budget, said that no such directive was given to the public broadcaster.

“Whatever Radio-Canada and CBC is doing is their decision,” the office of the Treasury Board president, Anita Anand, told The Canadian Press on Wednesday.

I don’t believe a thing either side says.

Designate UNRWA as a Terrorist Organization

Jihad textbook provided by UNRWA

Rather than ‘relief and works,’ what UNRWA provides is rabid antisemitic indoctrination, rockets, and jihadists.

It is mind-boggling to read in the New York Times this morning that the Biden State Department is assuring its fellow transnational progressives and Hamas pom-pom squads not to worry because only a tiny amount of American taxpayer funding for the Hamas branch known as the United Nations “Relief and Works” Agency for Palestinian “Refugees” (UNRWA — my sneer quotes) has been “paused” (more sneering).

Enough Is Enough: No Mo Bro-Fo Omar

Her latest comments make obvious she’s anti-American.

We’re now, as a country, presented with a question: At what point do we reclaim our status as a sovereign nation that takes itself seriously?

That question has been presented to us by categorically the most pristine kakistocrat in all of our governing class, this being Ilhan “Bro-Fo” Omar, the Somali Islamist Muslim, likely violator of our immigration laws, who serves as a member of the House of Representatives from a majority-white district of Minnesota and is now openly advocating for the United States government to become a vassal state of Somalia.

Nine ways Elon Musk’s brain implant could change the world

Would you let Elon Musk stick a microchip in your brain? On Sunday, the billionaire’s Neuralink start-up put its first human test subject under the knife. The anonymous patient had a tiny chip inserted under their skull, entwining the minute filaments from the processor into their brain.

Musk hopes the patient will now be able to send instructions to the implant using thoughts alone.

The chip, or “brain-computer interface”, which Neuralink began developing in 2016, promises to change the lives of people with disabilities that prevent them from moving or communicating.
