A hate crime against a family from the Midlands is being investigated by a Welsh police force after a poison pen letter attacking their “hideous, vomit-inducing” Brummie accents was left outside their home.
The vitriolic handwritten note was posted after the family moved 120 miles from the Midlands to a sought-after street in the seaside town of Aberystwyth, west Wales.

Coupled with the magical discovery of laws allowing a ban on Avenue Rd. protests after the meeting between Trudeau and the Chief the Liberals must hope it all just goes away.

It’s easy to think of the opening of the International Court of Justice’s trial of Israel that began this week in The Hague as just more of the same from the international community. The notion that a country that was the victim of a grotesque terrorist assault on Oct. 7 that involved the largest mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust should be arraigned before the world’s highest tribunal for defending itself against the perpetrators of that crime is patently absurd. But if you think the ICJ’s kangaroo court cannot harm the Jewish state or that this obvious miscarriage of justice will soon be forgotten, then you haven’t been paying attention to much of what has happened in the last three months.

Olivia Chow had a choice. Toronto’s Mayor could have rolled up her sleeves and got to work going through the City’s budget to find savings and hold the line on excessive cost increases. Instead, she chose to grow the budget by a billion dollars and then push for one of the largest tax increases in recent city history right when regular folks are facing an affordability crisis. It’s a heartless thing to do given the state of the economy.
On Wednesday, Chow proposed a 10.5 per cent property tax increase for the coming year. This will climb to 16.5 per cent if the federal government declines to provide Chow with the refugee housing funds she’s requested.
