In Texas, nearly 18,000 cows died in a single barn fire. This is how it happened

18.000 Cows – World’s Biggest BBQ

CASTRO COUNTY, Texas – The aroma of cow manure rode the spring breeze, as it always does in this stretch of Texas panhandle, where the wind lifts an endless fog of microscopic particles that infuse every mile with an earthy scent, the smell of business.

As dusk descended on the South Fork Dairy on April 10, workers busied themselves with the evening shift. Some refilled hay bins. Others checked on pregnant cows or hosed down equipment.

Extracting 24 semi-truck loads of milk from 17,500 cows daily requires a round-the-clock operation, but the crew would not be hindered by the gathering dusk. Much of this farm’s operation was indoors.

Canada’s high immigration is driving down per-capita GDP: report

The Canadian economy experienced a contraction “unprecedented outside a recession,” according to a new analysis from National Bank Financial, a trend driven, at least in part, by a population spike that has squeezed per capita GDP growth.

The bank’s monthly economic analysis says that “signs of an economic slowdown have been multiplying.”

The Dublin Riot: A Harbinger of Things to Come?

Because it spotlights the current state of affairs in the West — and all the key players — the recent uprising in Dublin should not be so quickly forgotten.

Background: On Nov. 23, 2023, a Muslim man of Algerian origin, with a known criminal record, knifed a group of preschool children attending Saint Mary’s, a Catholic school in Dublin. Three children — two girls and a boy aged between 5 and 6 — and a care assistant who tried to defend them were stabbed in the assault. Knifed near the heart, a 5-year-old girl was critically injured and, as of the last report from December, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The Trudeau Liberals had a tough year. What will they do in 2024?

When Justin Trudeau went in to huddle with his cabinet in Prince Edward Island in August this year, he had his work cut out for him as anger over housing and affordability in Canada grows.

Fatigue with an administration now in its eighth year seemed to be setting in, as multiple polls have suggested. In Charlottetown, Trudeau tasked his cabinet with finding a way through the biggest domestic crises. As the new year nears, the question now is: are they doing enough?

Commissioner in foreign interference inquiry playing politics

Justice Marie-Josee Corrupt

It’s hard to have faith in the public inquiry into foreign election interference when the judge in charge is acting the way she is.

Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue has denied the Conservative Party full standing at the inquiry twice now and warned them against complaining too much.

The Liberals are putting us deeper in debt. Where is all the money going?

“… This may surprise the average Canadian given that so much of the government is noticeably threadbare and underfunded. Canadians are dying in hospital waiting rooms due to unprecedented shortages in health care. The navy’s so strapped for cash that it can only deploy one offshore patrol vessel at a time. The RCMP’s federal policing is so under-resourced that Parliamentarians are now calling it a threat to national security. And even $600 billion in cumulative debt hasn’t been enough for the Liberals to honour their 2015 campaign promise to ensure universal clean water on First Nations reserves.”

Michigan Supreme Court Rules to Keep Trump on State Ballot

The Michigan supreme court sided with a lower appeals court finding that Donald Trump could remain on state ballots despite accusations the former president violated the 14th Amendment to the Constitution by engaging “in insurrection or rebellion.”

“At the moment, the only event about to occur is the presidential primary election. But as explained, whether Trump is disqualified is irrelevant to his placement on that particular ballot,” the Michigan court of appeals earlier ruled dismissing the case against Trump.

AOC’s moral, religious, and historic Christmas confusion

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), New York’s millennial congresswoman, believes herself the barometer of progressive morality. But by reframing Jesus as akin to Palestinian terrorists fighting Israel, she instead cloaks herself in a mantle of ignorance and moral confusion.

Conflating political and religious fervor, AOC took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to opine, “In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in the mass genocide of innocents. He was part of a targeted population being indiscriminately killed to protect an unjust leader’s power,” she wrote. “Thousands of years later, right-wing forces are violently occupying Bethlehem as similar stories unfold for today’s Palestinians, so much so that the Christian community in Bethlehem has canceled this year’s Christmas Eve celebrations.”

New French spy chief has a to-do list the size of west Africa

The French equivalent of MI6 was glamorised in The Bureau, an internationally acclaimed television series, but in recent years it has been spooked by a series of intelligence failures.

The head of the Directorate General for External Security has been replaced after the agency was blamed for failing to anticipate the Russian invasion of Ukraine and coups in several former French colonies in west Africa. French spies were also caught out when Australia abruptly abandoned a big submarine deal in 2021.

The Fall of France Any guesses why?

The 18th-century epigrammatist and aphorist Nicolas Chamfort famously described his country, France, as “the perfected civilization.” Nowadays, the nearly six million Muslim economic migrants and their children in France have contributed much to the undoing of that civilization, spreading fear and insecurity. From the annals of Muslim mayhem, carried out against French people, here is one recent story: “‘Dirty White’ – Thugs stab young French father 9 times, leave him with 40 stitches,” by John Cody, Remix News, December 15, 2023

Is US military power reaching its limit?

During the Christmas period, America’s role as global policeman has been coming under scrutiny.

The origins of the story go back weeks, with Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea in response to Israel’s war in Gaza. These attacks culminated in the decision by global shipping companies to avoid transit through the region due to the heightened risk.

Stephen Fry and the rise of woke anti-Semitism

The great irony of the tidal wave of anti-Jew invective that has come Stephen Fry’s way over the past 48 hours is that it has perfectly proved his point. He goes on TV to say we are witnessing a ‘rise in anti-Jewish racism’ and right away there’s a spike in anti-Jewish racism. Even before he’d finished his touching fireside homily on Jew hate, the Jew haters were out in force to ask: ‘Who the fuck does he think he is?’ A Jew on TV? At Christmas? Wanging on about the victimisation of Jews? Vomit emoji. That was literally the response of the army of arseholes that passes for the left these days, every one of them too dim to realise they were making Fry’s case for him.
