Death by Doctor May Soon Be Available for the Mentally Ill in Canada

Canada already has one of the most liberal assisted death laws in the world, offering the practice to terminally and chronically ill Canadians.

But under a law scheduled to take effect in March assisted dying would also become accessible to people whose only medical condition is mental illness, making Canada one of about half a dozen countries to permit the procedure for that category of people.

That move has divided Canadians, some of whom view it as a sign that the country’s public health care system is not offering adequate psychiatric care, which is notoriously underfunded and in high demand.

Good news for Trudeau voters!

UK Law Reform Gives Shoplifters ‘Get Out of Jail Free Card’

Conservative Party officials will spend the months ahead of next year’s election trying to persuade voters they will be tough on crime. Yet by the government’s own admission, its plan to scrap short sentences will keep thousands of shoplifters out of jail.

It is already so rare for thieves to be apprehended by police officers that major retailers say criminals feel they have a “licence to shoplift.” Public order has degraded to such an extent that businesses that can afford it are turning to private detectives instead.

That’s worked so well in California!

Erdogan describes Netanyahu as ‘no different from Hitler’

President Erdogan of Turkey said Binyamin Netanyahu was “no different from Hitler” as he accused Israel of “war crimes” in Gaza.

Speaking at an event in Ankara, Erdogan said Turkey would welcome academics and scientists who faced persecution for their views on the conflict in Gaza, adding that western countries that supported Israel were complicit in what he called war crimes.

“They used to speak ill of Hitler. What difference do you have from Hitler? They are going to make us miss Hitler. Is what this Netanyahu is doing any less than what Hitler did? It is not,” Erdogan said. “He is richer than Hitler; he gets the support from the West. All sorts of support comes from the United States. And what did they do with all this support? They killed more than 20,000 Gazans.”

UN investigator stands by claim that Trudeau government’s low-wage foreign worker program is like modern slavery

A United Nations official who said that part of Canada’s temporary foreign worker program constitutes “a breeding ground for contemporary forms of slavery” is standing by his comments, saying some agricultural and low-wage workers are subjected to unacceptable conditions, including surveillance.

Tomoya Obokata, the UN’s special rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery, said in an interview he found some temporary migrants were working in appalling conditions in Canada, and could not escape their employers because their work permits tied them to a single employer.

I don’t often agree with the UN but on this matter I do.

Trudeau’s temporary foreign worker program along with the foreign student scam are designed to harm Canadian citizens by allowing the corporate welfare class to depress wages and import as many indentured servants as they please.

Are the Pope’s allies funding people smugglers in Africa?

Some of Pope Francis’s closest allies in the Catholic Church are alleged to have secretly given more than €2 million to an Italian migrant rescue charity whose senior staff are charged with people smuggling. They include Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, archbishop of Bologna, who is among other things the papal peace envoy to Ukraine, and Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, archbishop of Luxembourg. These senior figures in the Church organized payment of the money, it is claimed, at the bequest of the Pope who had established a special rapport with the far-left founder of the charity. The payments were kept secret for fear of adverse publicity.

Safe-Injection Sites and Crime

A new study shows a statistically significant increase in aggravated felony assaults in vicinities where these establishments operate.

Only two government-sanctioned “safe-injection sites” operate in the U.S., one in East Harlem, the other in Washington Heights. Their impact—on both those who use their facilities to inject hard drugs under medical supervision and on the neighborhoods where they are located—is thus of national significance. Other states, cities, and the federal government are doubtless closely watching these two experiments. That is why a new research paper on the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Network Open site is so important and why it has received so much attention.

China’s Increased Bullying of Philippines to Test US Resolve

American and Chinese military leaders have communicated by video link on December 21, after a hiatus of more than a year. Hopefully, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Brown took the opportunity to raise the issue of China’s bullying of Philippine vessels in the South China Sea with his Chinese counterpart, General Li Shang-fu.

The latest aggressive move by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took place when a Chinese Coast Guard ship deluged three Philippine vessels with water cannon on December 9 and 10. This assault resulted in severe engine damage to one of the Philippine vessels necessitating it to be towed to home port.
