Shaun King Suspended from Instagram

Activist Shaun King has been suspended from Instagram where he had around 5 million followers. King is probably best known for his support for BLM and for multiple instances of amplifying false allegations (see here and here) on social media. King has lately become an outspoken supporter of Palestine and critic of Israel. He claims he was suspended because of those stances on the platform.

‘Long live the Intifada!’ Roads blocked, flags stomped by ‘cancel Christmas’ protests

In the final hours before Dec. 25, Canadian roads were blocked, overpasses were barricaded and malls were swarmed by screaming crowds as anti-Israel demonstrators attempted to make good on a promise to cancel Christmas.

On Saturday, a crowd of more than 100 moved through Downtown Toronto screaming for “intifada.” Demonstrators attempted to block entrances at Toronto’s Eaton Centre. And on Christmas Eve, an overpass and two approaches to Toronto’s Highway 401 were blockaded for several hours by a group waving Palestinian flags.

Number of Chinese Nationals Spikes at the Border

December is not quite over, and as Catherine noted earlier today, 250,000 illegal aliens have crossed the border this month — more than the number of people who stormed the beaches on D-Day. She also raised a point that has been stated again and again: there is no way of telling who these people are and, for that matter, why they are here. There is no doubt that a number of those entering the country are fleeing poverty and crime or who want their shot at the American Dream. (Incidentally, good luck to them. Most Americans are not even sure they can get a shot at the American Dream.)

Ottawa, we have a problem: the federal public service

“… We know that the size of the federal public service has grown by 24 per cent over the last eight years and spending on outside consultants has increased by a third over the past five years. But growth in the size of the federal government and the scale of government spending has not improved access to government programs and services. Public-opinion surveys report a growing frustration over the deteriorating level of federal government services: Nearly 50 per cent of Canadians report that they are “very unsatisfied” or “unsatisfied” with the services the federal government provides. We need to go below the surface to understand why.”

NG: Taylor Swift Busted as Woke Hypocrite on 5 Activist Issues: Climate, LGBTQQIAAP2S+, Feminism

Taylor Swift’s performative activism is getting tiresome — and transparently hypocritical.

Now that she is the Democrats’ official cultural vector for promoting their left-wing agenda, the mega pop star has become more than ubiquitous. She is being forcibly crammed down everyone’s throats. Her media saturation level is somewhere near Hurricane Katrina. Even NFL fans who just want to enjoy the game have no choice but to watch Clockwork Orange-style as she cheers on her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend in cringeworthy style.

Could some policy wins lift the NDP’s political fortunes?

The NDP is hoping to translate policy success into political success when some key elements of their supply-and-confidence agreement with the Liberals roll out in 2024 — but one polling analyst says the party’s numbers don’t seem to be budging.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh told CBC News Network’s Power & Politics that his main goal is to push for policies that help Canadians. But he conceded that he hopes the NDP can get some credit for some of the government’s recent policy moves.

Gee that’s a shame …

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s home is ‘swatted’ on Christmas Day by caller claiming man shot wife inside — just weeks after holding ‘Electeds of Color Holiday Party’

Could be why people look away when Blacks attack Asians

Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu was swatted on Christmas Day, two weeks after hosting a controversial holiday party for the non-white city council members.

The Boston Police Department were called to a reported shooting turned hostage situation at Wu’s home in the city’s Roslindale neighborhood around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, according to WBUR.

The call was made through the city’s 311 information system claiming a man had shot his wife inside the home and tied her up, alongside a second man.

Jamie Sarkonak: Activist bureaucrats behind travel advisory for LGBT people going to U.S.

Canada issued a travel advisory for the United States over LGBT-related laws last summer at the prompting of concerned Health Canada staff, access to information records obtained by the National Post show.

That travel advisory, which remains in effect since it was issued Aug. 29, reads: “Some states have enacted laws and policies that may affect 2SLGBTQI+ persons. Check relevant state and local laws.” Following outcry, Deputy Prime Minster Chrystia Freeland said the move was initiated by the public service and was in no way politically motivated.

Canada’s bureaucrats and their unions need to be crushed.

When Poilievre met Murphy, and the Liberals lost their minds

So there sat Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and National Post columnist Rex Murphy in a cinderblock hallway that looked like one of the nation’s better prisons or lesser university dorms, a blue tinsel Christmas tree beside them.

You knew you were in for a treat when Mr. Murphy started out with this: “You’ve had in this particular year, the greatest – to some people surprising – acceleration both in your popular standing and in the sway of your politics, and – I’d like to say so – your performance in the House. What is it that came together that convinced enough people that you were more than a viable candidate for the next prime ministership?”

Federal Ballot: CPC 41, LPC 27, NDP 18, BQ 7, GPC 5, PPC 1 – Poilievre hits a 10-year Conservative leader high on preferred PM tracking (Nanos)

Israel expanding ground offensive into central Gaza refugee camps

Israel is expanding its ground offensive into Palestinian refugee camps in central Gaza, as it warns the war with Hamas will last for months.

The UN has expressed grave concern after Israeli strikes reportedly killed dozens of people in Bureij, Nuseirat and Maghazi camps in recent days.

Heavy fighting is also continuing to the south, in the city of Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian president has described what is happening in Gaza as “beyond a war of annihilation”.

John Robson: Moving On From 2023, Trouble’s a-Brewin’

… but There’s a First Step to Fixing It

So 2023 is about to enter the pages of history, or its dustbin. And what can one say about such a year? Momentous as it was to some, as a quick scan of the birth notices or obituaries will confirm, it feels like one of those years of ominous quiet before the storm.

How can you say that, you may ask, when the Middle East exploded in early October? And my answer is that all years see some dramatic events. But while some are clear turning points, like 1942 or 1968, and others seem to be unimportant, like 1926 or 1955, still others give the troubling sense that serious problems are building toward a crisis that is yet to arrive.
