Perceptions of corruption increasing in Canada: Report

Canada faces “increased perceptions of corruption,” a new Department of Public Safety report says.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, the document doesn’t identify specific cases but says “establishing a strong ethical tone at the top may be a useful tactic.

“The country has experienced a relatively consistent drop in its score over the past two decades, indicating increased perceptions of corruption,” said the report, “Methods Of Preventing Corruption: A Review And Analysis Of Select Approaches.”

Is ‘Leave the World Behind’ Globalist Propaganda?

I became aware of Leave the World Behind, a new film that’s now streaming on Netflix, when Julia Roberts mentioned it a few days ago on the Graham Norton Show, where she co-guested with Cher, Tom Hanks, and Timothée Chalamet. Her sales pitch was impressive. She said that when the producers were casting it, they sent her a copy of the 2020 novel by Rumaan Alam on which it’s based. She dove into it at once, but took a long time getting to the end because it was so terrifying that she had to put it down at sunset.

CN Rail Says Hamas Support Protests Caused ‘Irreparable Harm’ to Freight Lines

Blockades by anti-Israel protesters have led the Canadian National Railway to lose millions of dollars and suffer “irreparable harm,” say courts in three provinces.

“I would have no difficulty in concluding that blockades of Canadian National Railway lines in New Brunswick would amount to irreparable harm to CN. It would amount to an unlawful trespass on CN’s property,” wrote Justice Robert Dysart of the New Brunswick Court of Queen’s Bench, as fist reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.

Strip their citizenship then deportation.

NYTimes Poll Shows Public Believe Trump Would Handle Hamas-Israel War Better Than Sleepy Joe

Poll Finds Wide Disapproval of Biden on Gaza, and Little Room to Shift Gears

Voters broadly disapprove of the way President Biden is handling the bloody strife between Israelis and Palestinians, a New York Times/Siena College poll has found, with younger Americans far more critical than older voters of both Israel’s conduct and of the administration’s response to the war in Gaza.

Voters are also sending decidedly mixed signals about the direction U.S. policy-making should take as the war in Gaza grinds into its third month, with Israelis still reeling from the Oct. 7 terrorist attack, thousands of Palestinian deaths in Gaza and the Biden administration trying to pressure Israel to scale back its military campaign. Nearly as many Americans want Israel to continue its military campaign as want it to stop now to avoid further civilian casualties.

That’s gotta hurt.

How U.S. Public Schools Teach Antisemitism

From pre-K lessons on ‘ethnic noses’ to lectures on Israel as an apartheid state, students are learning that Jews are the enemy.

Last fall, Siriana Abboud put a new poster on the wall of her pre-K class at a public school in Midtown Manhattan that, she claimed, would teach her four- and five-year-old students about the human body.

The poster showed four sketches of differently shaped noses—two small, one hooked, and another with a nose ring.

“Why do people have different noses?” a headline above the drawings asked.

Vancouver encampment residents file human rights complaint against city

The B.C. Human Rights Tribunal will hear a complaint from people who camp at CRAB Park and allege the City of Vancouver and its park board discriminate against them by not providing “basic survival services.”

Tribunal member Steve Adamson said in a letter to the group that the tribunal will also fast-track the initial stages of the complaint to give them the chance to resolve the issue through a mediation process.

The group claims discrimination based on Indigenous identity, and physical and mental disabilities, among other allegations. They say there is insufficient electricity, a lack of sanitation, and the park board has not provided washroom facilities.

This is about prolonging the homeless crisis as a viable political wedge issue and fundraising tool.

Cory Morgan: Ottawa’s 2035 EV Target Will Be a Costly Policy Failure

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault’s plan to illegalize the sale of new conventional vehicles in Canada by 2035 is unreasonable, extreme, and will wreak havoc on the Canadian economy.

Despite nearly 10 years of cajoling, promoting, and subsidizing electric vehicles (EVs), over 95 percent of vehicle sales in Canada are still combustion engine models. EVs remain too expensive and impractical for Canadians to embrace. Rather than trying to understand why citizens won’t switch to EVs, the Canadian government is taking the ham-handed approach of forcing the transition, and the consequences of the move will be dire.

U.S. Warships Head to Red Sea, but Shipping Firms Remain on Edge

New Ballistic Missiles Displayed at the Houthi Military Parade

Regional politics and well-armed Houthi adversaries in Yemen are among the challenges facing U.S.-led naval force

Hours after the U.S. announced a multinational task force to protect commercial traffic through the Red Sea, shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk said it would send its vessels around the Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa instead.

The message was clear: Jitters remain about a possible snarl to one of the world’s most crucial trade routes.

Attacks on merchant vessels by Houthi forces in Yemen, a militia group backed by Iran, continued this week—including two on Monday. The attacks have mostly taken place near the southern end of the Red Sea, called Bab el-Mandeb, or the Gate of Tears.

Rex Murphy: An antisemitic menace stalks Canada and Trudeau couldn’t care less

It is very hard, indeed it may be impossible, to disagree with the flood of online remarks asserting that the treatment of the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protests differ rather troublingly from the treatment meted out to Canadian truckers.

I’m not aware that Tamara Lich at any point during the trucker’s sojourn in Ottawa, in full voice, and in direct proximity to police officers, gave vent to “I’ll kill you … I’ll put you six feet deep” to either a policeman or to a passerby. During the weeks of the Freedom Convoy protest, as far as I know, and equally as far as the authorities are aware, at no point did she express murderous intent, make explicit death threats, or act with grand insouciance while doing so in the presence of numerous police.

Trudeau says antisemitism he and his pals created is ‘terrifying’ after teen terror charges

Trudeau says antisemitism rise is ‘terrifying’ after teen terror charges

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the rise of antisemitism in Canada is “terrifying” after a 15-year-old was arrested late on Friday night in Ottawa and charged with terrorism-related offences.

The RCMP say it’s alleged the youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, intended to target the Jewish community and is suspected of having explosive materials.

Is identity politics to blame for the rise of anti-Semitism?

Anti-Semitism is surging among the young. It is now positively hip to view Jews as ‘problematic’. Consider the recent Harvard/Harris poll which found that 67 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds in the US view Jews as an ‘oppressor class’. If that doesn’t send a chill down your spine, then I humbly suggest you read a few more history books.

The poll results have horrified observers, as well they might. ‘Do you think that Jews as a class are oppressors and should be treated as oppressors or is that a false ideology?’, people were asked. ‘Oppressors’, answered two-thirds of the Gen Z respondents. Welcome to the era of TikTok fascism.

Claudine Gay’s DEI Empire

Claudine Gay – Affirmative Action Racist

Harvard’s embattled president quietly built “diversity” ideology into every facet of campus life.

Harvard president Claudine Gay has been embroiled in controversy for minimizing Hamas terrorism and plagiarizing material in her academic work on race. Both scandals have discredited her presidency, but neither should come as a surprise. Throughout Gay’s career at Harvard—as professor, dean, and president—racialist ideology has driven her scholarship, administrative priorities, and rise through the institution.

It just got suddenly worse …
