Bulletproof vests won’t save the West from its own Hamas

Like the lifeboats on the Titanic, in Eurabia there won’t be body armor for everyone when the attack comes.

In no other country in the world does the winner of political elections have to appear in public wearing a bulletproof vest.
“Holland: immigration, Islamization and mass pro-Palestinian demonstrations have opened the doors to Geert Wilders’ electoral victory” writes Jessica Durlacher on Weltwoche.

Not in the eyes of our “reflective class”, which only sees the populist spectrum, never the Islamist one.

Shane MacGowan: NYPD bagpiper recalls rollicking shoot of classic Pogues video

The Irish-American officers of the New York Police Department Pipes and Drums band had never heard of The Pogues on the night that they featured in the band’s most famous and beloved music video.

Fairytale of New York was filmed in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park in November 1987 on one of the coldest days of the year, recounts drummer and bagpipe player Kevin P McCarthy.

McCarthy, a now-retired NYPD detective, says the group arrived for their second gig of the night and were surprised to discover that they would not need to play their instruments during the frigid two-hour film shoot.

My Catholic All-Women’s Alma Mater Just Announced It Will Admit Men In Ladyface

On Nov. 21, the student newspaper serving Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame broke the story that Saint Mary’s, a Catholic women’s college founded in 1844, would now consider admission for applicants “whose sex is female or who consistently live and identify as women.” The college’s proud identity as a single-sex institution, which resisted a merger with brother school Notre Dame when the university went coeducational in 1972, is no longer.

The war in the Middle East is creating new divides in CanLit

For Kelly Baron, now ex-publisher of the Canadian literary journal Ex-Puritan, the final straw was a statement re-posted by a colleague on Instagram. It accused Israelis of stealing Palestinian bodies for their skin due to allegedly high rates of skin cancer for Israelis – the suggestion being that Jews are not indigenous to the region.

Even before the skin-stealing post, Ms. Baron felt, after the Hamas attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza by Israel, that some social media activity by CanLit colleagues went beyond support for Palestinians and strayed into antisemitic territory.

German police arrest three over Cologne cathedral plot

Police in Germany’s western state of North-Rhine Westphalia arrested three more people on Sunday over an alleged plot to attack the historic cathedral in Cologne. One person was previously detained on Christmas Eve.

Braid: Liberals are in crisis because of vast gap between their policies and real life

The Trudeau government is flip-flopping like a hooked flounder as it tries to escape the net of its own contradictions.

Years of favouring one group over another now proves disastrous for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and especially his Environment Minister, Steven Guilbeault.

An Abacus poll this week showed the Liberals 15 points behind the Conservatives, and barely ahead of the NDP.

Sabrina Maddeaux: Trudeau Liberals not taking the threat of Islamofascism seriously

Nearly two months after the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, Canada is still failing to take even the most basic steps in the fight against Islamofascism and the growing tide of extremism both inside and outside our borders.

On that day, innocent civilians were tortured, raped, murdered and desecrated as part of a mission to eradicate Jews. Since then, Hamas has succeeded in convincing too many westerners that it’s not a genocidal organization whose inherent motive is violence, but a righteous band of rebels and a legitimate government.

The LPC take Islamofascism seriously? Now why would they want to alienate their core constituency?

Disney Lives in a Small World, After All

Topple that statue!

Wokeness is a symptom of the company’s disease.

The people running Disney appear crazier than that guy who stripped naked on “It’s a Small World” Sunday and started dancing with the animatronics and climbing on the iconic ride’s structure.

“Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance,” the company’s stock report explains with regard to recent bombs. “Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands.”

The BBC and other Western media outlets are far more than mere useful idiots

The devastating Hamas weapon of war is the Western media.

Hamas, the genocidal jihadi force responsible for the barbaric Oct. 7 pogrom in Israel, has a devastating weapon of war. That weapon is the Western media.

With some honorable exceptions, these media outlets have been doing Hamas’s filthy work for it. Despite the terror group’s record of lying through its teeth, the media accepts what it says at face value while casting doubt on everything said by the habitually truthful Israelis.

Foiled robbery attempt sees demand for ancient samurai weapon soar in Japan

An employee at a jewellery shop in Tokyo has been hailed a hero after thwarting an attempted robbery and giving chase after the three suspects fled. But the hero of the hour wasn’t armed with a Taser or pepper spray, but with a weapon invented hundreds of years ago by samurai warriors: the sasumata, a pole with two prongs attached to the end.
