French Jews concerned over Macron’s Israel ‘killing women and children in Gaza’ comments

“The CRIF has expressed concern regarding the remarks made by the President of the Republic in his interview with the BBC,” the umbrella organization for French Jewry said in a tweet on Saturday night. French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that Israel is killing women and children in Gaza, in an interview he gave to the BBC at his official residence.

“De facto – today civilians are being bombed,” Macron claimed. “These babies, these women, these old people are being bombed and killed. So there is no reason for it and no legitimacy. So we do plead with Israel to stop.”

Macron sits on an Islamist powder keg. No doubt he’s afraid.

Sweeping Raids, Giant Camps and Mass Deportations: Inside Trump’s 2025 Immigration Plans

Former President Donald J. Trump is planning an extreme expansion of his first-term crackdown on immigration if he returns to power in 2025 — including preparing to round up undocumented people already in the United States on a vast scale and detain them in sprawling camps while they wait to be expelled.

The plans would sharply restrict both legal and illegal immigration in a multitude of ways.

Mr. Trump wants to revive his first-term border policies, including banning entry by people from certain Muslim-majority nations and reimposing a Covid 19-era policy of refusing asylum claims — though this time he would base that refusal on assertions that migrants carry other infectious diseases like tuberculosis.

Sounds Great!

For Both Trudeau and Biden, Polls Suggest an Uphill Political Path

The economy, and particularly inflation, has soured voters on both leaders, polls indicate, though well in advance of upcoming votes.

For months now, Mr. Trudeau’s Liberal Party has been rapidly sinking in public opinion surveys, while more recent polls suggest that the Conservatives under Pierre Poilievre would win any election held now.

Similarly, new polls by The New York Times and Siena College have found that Mr. Biden is trailing Donald J. Trump in five of the six most important battleground states.

Comparing the political situations in Canada and the United States is a fraught business because of a variety of differences between the countries and their political systems. And, of course, Americans don’t vote for another year, and Canada’s next federal election is likely to be two years off.

Anne Akbar. In Europe, the Palestinian Arabs are the new Jews

Anne Frank Defamed BDS South Africa

“Diversity” is the beach where old European whales go to die.

A Minister of the Family begins to criticize the “sexist and racist” fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, explaining that she reads the “correct” versions of children’s stories to her daughter. This continues at a university that cancels the name of Kaiser Wilhelm, then the Foreign Ministry that changes the name of the Bismarck Hall, the city of Cologne that eliminates the cathedral from its logo, the State Ballet that cancels “The Nutcracker” and a school that after 600 years abandons Christmas celebrations to adopt “a sensitive approach”.

The moment you adopt political correctness you begin the journey of no return to the beach of the old whales.

Netanyahu: We’ll defy the world if needed to defeat Hamas; PA can’t run Gaza after war

The leaders in charge of directing Israel’s war in Gaza vowed Saturday to soldier on with the grinding military offensive aimed at vanquishing the Hamas terror group, pushing back at international pressure to slow down or halt it, and pledging to “stand firm against the world if necessary.”

In a joint press conference, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister Benny Gantz rejected mounting international criticism over the civilian costs of the war, urging Western leaders to throw their support behind the Jewish state since its victory would mean victory for the entire free world as well.

I hope they grind Hamas into dust but in a nuanced way.

Anatomy of a Paris Demo

“Paris could become a battlefield!” This was how commentators speculated about a “solidarity with Palestine” demonstration that the police had authorized for last Saturday. The concern was not groundless.

A few days before, a Harris opinion poll had shown that 82 percent of the French feared a wave of terrorism in France and 72 percent believed that something like the 7 October attack by Hamas would happen in Paris.

“People are right to have concerns,” says Brice Hortefeux, a former Minister of the Interior.

Trudeau’s faith in Climatology will cost him his government

Several decades back, I sat (attentively) through a briefing on the Kyoto Protocol. A colleague of mine asked me what it was all about.

I told him it was an economic plan drawn up by environmentalists and doomed to failure. Boy, I was wrong.

No doubt the protocol was an economic scheme. Basically, the smart folks at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) came up with a new, global currency — carbon.

French march against antisemitism shakes up far right and far left

Something unprecedented is happening this weekend in Paris, brought about by the war between Israel and Hamas and its spill-over in Europe.

For the first time ever, a major demonstration is being attended by representatives of the major political parties includes the far right – but not the far left.

On Sunday afternoon thousands of people heeded a call from the Speakers of the two houses of parliament to show their support for French “Republican” values and their rejection of antisemitism – this in the face of a steep rise in antisemitic actions since 7 October.

‘Unprecedented’: Antisemitism has skyrocketed in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war

Toronto’s Jewish community is highlighting the need to combat antisemitism amid a spike in hatred against Jews that some have described as “stunning.”

This week marks Holocaust Education Week, and for many Jews in the city, the lessons of the Holocaust are front of mind.

Since the surprise Oct. 7 terror attack in which Hamas killed 1,400 Israelis and took some 240 hostages, and the subsequent response by Israel, which has left some 10,000 Palestinians dead according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, incidents of hatred targeting Jews have spiked.

Everyone is shocked yet mystified.

Some white guy has to take the fall and walk around with a confederate flag to ease tensions by allowing the usual suspects to blame the usual suspects.

Bill for vandal damage to Ulez cameras estimated at £10m for past six months

Vandals attacking Ulez cameras have run up a repair and replacement bill of up to £10 million in only six months.

The estimated total comes as Transport for London (TfL), which runs the Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez), is now being forced to hire security guards to protect engineers installing and repairing cameras and mobile Ulez camera vans.

Latest figures show that from April 1 to Oct 31 this year, the Met Police recorded 220 cameras stolen and 767 cameras damaged.

GOLDSTEIN: The left’s alliance with Islamofascism ignited today’s anti-Semitism

Hating Jews and Israel is normal for Islamists. So why did our politicians invite them here?

Political leaders from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow are saying all the right things about opposing anti-Semitism but are at a loss on how to put this evil genie back in the bottle.

The problem is they can’t, because appealing to people’s better angels doesn’t work with people who hate Jews because they are Jews.

Montreal Jewish school hit by gunfire overnight for 2nd time this week

Montreal police are investigating after gunshots were fired at a Jewish school in the city’s west end for the second time this week.

Police say they received several calls about gunshots near Yeshiva Gedola of Montreal, located on Deacon Road in the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, at around 5 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived, they say they found bullet impact marks on the building and shell casings on the ground nearby.

Canada working to cope with ‘profoundly frustrating’ situation at Rafah crossing with Gaza

A senior Canadian diplomat says the situation around the stop-start evacuation of Canadians from Gaza has been “profoundly frustrating,” with the Rafah crossing set to potentially reopen on Sunday.

“I was hoping, obviously, that we would have had everyone out by now,” Julie Sunday told CBC News in Cairo. She is an assistant deputy minister at Global Affairs Canada and was recently appointed as Canada’s representative on hostage issues.

Gaza’s border authority announced on Saturday that the Rafah land crossing into Egypt would reopen on Sunday for foreign passport holders. For weeks, the status of the border has been a primary concern for countries like Canada, with hundreds of citizens, permanent residents and their families stuck in war-torn Gaza.

Rishi Sunak slams ‘EDL thugs’ over Armistice Day chaos

Rishi Sunak today condemned as ‘despicable’ both ‘EDL thugs’ who attacked police officers and pro-Palestinian protesters pictured openly supporting Hamas following a day of chaos in central London.

The Metropolitan Police said 126 arrests have been made so far, the ‘vast majority’ far-right football hooligans who pelted officers with bottles, cans and metal fences after gathering to ‘protect the Cenotaph’ in Whitehall. Nine officers were injured.

While the pro-Palestinian march did not see this level of violence it was once again marred by numerous incidents of vile antisemitism, with one marcher holding a sign showing a Jewish Star of David wrapped around a Nazi swastika.

Worth noting …
