Ceasefires Will Only Hinder Getting the Hostages Released

The White House has just announced that there will be daily “four-hour pauses“, with eight hours’ notice, in northern Gaza.

As Israel maintains its military offensive to destroy Hamas’s terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, the biggest threat to the operation achieving its stated objective of wiping Hamas from the face of the earth comes not the Islamist fanatics desperately defending their network of underground tunnels but from the Biden administration’s obsession, possibly after seeing so many staged demonstrations, with having “ceasefires.”

Ceasefires have deteriorated into a form of virtue signaling.

EVs Driven Far Less Than Gas-Powered Cars, Suggesting Overhyped Benefits of EV Push

A new study shows that electric vehicles (EV) are being driven much less than than their gas-powered counterparts, suggesting that the claimed emission-reducing benefits of the big push for an EV transition are overblown.

Americans behind the wheel of fully electric cars drove nearly 4,500 miles per year less than they did gasoline-powered vehicles, according to a recent study that sought to quantify EV mileage in the United States.

Cameron Ortis, ex-RCMP official accused of leaking secrets, says he did nothing wrong

Cameron Ortis, the former high-ranking RCMP intelligence official accused of leaking top-secret intelligence to police targets, told court recently that while he has some regrets, his actions were “not wrong.”

The Crown alleges Ortis used his position as the head of a highly secret unit within the RCMP to attempt to sell intelligence gathered by Canada and its Five Eyes allies to individuals linked to the criminal underworld.

NPR Lefty Listener Shock: 60% See Anti-Israel Bias, Only 24% Anti-Palestinian

National Public Radio’s “Public Editor” Kelly McBride dismissed complaints about NPR’s coverage of the Israel-Hamas war, examining it through a liberal prism and declaring it excellent, although even NPR’s uber-liberal band of listeners offered complaints the coverage was excessively pro-Palestinian.

Two major pro-Israel media watchdog groups, CAMERA and Honest Reporting, have also found much to criticize about the taxpayer-funded radio network’s coverage of the Palestinian terrorist regime.

GOLDSTEIN: Only recessions dramatically lower greenhouse gases

The only way Canada will achieve Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s target of reducing Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 will be through a major recession or recessions.

Federal environment commissioner Jerry DeMarco didn’t put things quite that bluntly on Tuesday when he gave the feds a failing grade on their efforts to reduce Canada’s emissions, but he came close.

‘Let it Burn’: Fire Departments Ill-Prepared for EV Boom

They designed a purpose built EV fire pool and it’s still burning.

So electric vehicles are going to save the planet, eh? Somebody forgot to tell Joe Biden something important when he authorized the spending of tens of billions of dollars for EV subsidies, more billions to build charging stations (still not enough), and still more billions to auto manufacturers to “incentivize” the design and building of more and more EV’s. That important bit of information is the fact that electric car fires are darn near impossible to put out.

Jewish communities in Canada shaken by spike in hate incidents since onset of Israel-Hamas war

Two empty Montreal Jewish schools hit by gunfire, Molotov cocktails ignited at a synagogue and the headquarters of a local Jewish non-profit – four hate incidents this week in the city that have brought a new level of anxiety to Jewish communities across Canada.

Montreal has seen a surge in hate-crime cases since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, with police adding the most-recent incidents to a list of another 41 targeting Jewish people and 14 targeting Arab-Muslim communities.

New Canary Mission Report Ties Tlaib to *Six* Hamas Fundraisers

… Two weeks ago, the independent non-profit Canary Mission issued a report connecting the House Democrat to three Hamas fundraisers. Not a single major American media outlet picked up on allegations that a sitting member of Congress had ties to a terrorist organization that had just killed over 30 Americans in Israel, not to mention had a dozen or so more as hostages. A week after that, the number of media outlets reporting on those allegations was still zero.

For years now we have heard that the Squad is done for and the Democrats themselves are going to ensure their demise. Yet not much ever happens.

Jesse Kline: Liberal immigration plan exposes the folly of big government

It is becoming clear to an increasing number of Canadians that the rapid influx of new immigrants brought in by the federal Liberals is exposing cracks in a country with an overburdened health system, a massive social safety net and a bureaucracy that stifles the economy and prevents housing and infrastructure from keeping up with population growth.

A series of recent polls found that 44 per cent of the country thinks immigration levels are too high, with even higher levels of dissatisfaction in Liberal strongholds such as Vancouver (49 per cent) and the Greater Toronto Area (57 per cent).

Typically in articles about mass immigration the negative effect it has on “social cohesion” remains unmentioned.  As the GTA grows ever more diverse White flight will only increase. I suspect “work from home” has proved a welcome relief to many in ways not talked about in PC circles.

‘Aliens,’ or a foreign power? Pentagon UFO chief says someone is in our backyard

This week, the director of the U.S. government’s UFO analysis office stated that there is “evidence” of concerning unidentified flying object activity “in our backyard.” According to physicist Seán Kirkpatrick, who heads the congressionally-mandated All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, this alarming UFO activity can be attributed to one of two extraordinary sources: either a foreign power or “aliens.”

To be sure, the ramifications of either would be significant. But Kirkpatrick’s comments, which come as he is about to retire after a 27-year defense and intelligence-focused career, are more intriguing because he also says that “none” of the hundreds of military UFO reports analyzed by his office recently “have been positively attributed to foreign activities.”

At the same time, Kirkpatrick and senior defense officials have ruled out the possibility that secret U.S. programs or experimental aircraft explain the phenomena.

To my many many readers who are adamant skeptics if not outright disbelievers – this is a Big Deal.

To my view it is just the latest “Drip” in a slow disclosure process.

Justin’s ill-conceived first-come-first-served EV manufacturing policy

In possibly the worst decision since the Avro Arrow, the Prime Minister says Toyota won’t see the same electric-vehicle assembly incentives as VW and Stellantis

In a seemingly much-ignored story last week, the Toronto Star claimed that “Ontario’s hopes for a Toyota EV factory [are] in jeopardy after Justin Trudeau says no more massive subsidies.”

Now, I know what you’re thinking. There’s something dreadfully wrong with this picture. Surely, the Star has misquoted our fearless leader. The man who’s never seen a bar tab he wasn’t willing to pick up — at the taxpayer’s expense, of course — is suddenly developing a sense of budgetary discipline? Surely, Hell hath frozen over.

Canada would be better off if lead by a dim bulb High School student.

The end of Gaza’s most beautiful neighbourhood … So what happened to that “Open Air Prison” thing?

Gaza – one can only imagine the hardship.

Around noon on Friday 20 October, the residents of the upscale Gazan neighbourhood of al-Zahra stood in front of the rubble and dust that used to be their homes.

Fridays were supposed to be special: the Islamic day of prayer marks the start of the weekend and in al-Zahra it meant falafel and hummus, coffee and tea, all served in spacious family apartments or villas by the Mediterranean Sea. Residents here knew they were luckier than most in Gaza.

But overnight, Israeli bombs had flattened 25 apartment blocks, home to many hundreds of people. Israel had been bombing Gaza for days in response to the Hamas attacks of 7 October, but al-Zahra had not been hit until now.

Rallying cry or hate speech? What ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ means

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

To some, it’s a cry for the repatriation of a people kicked to the outskirts of a land they call home. To others, it’s a genocidal refrain, verbalizing a desire to purge the Jews from Israel.

The Star assures us it’s not genocidy at all, well maybe a wee bit but that’s OK.

Israeli officials don’t know how many Hamas hostages are still alive as they call for ‘two-way humanitarianism’: ‘It’s a black hole’

Israeli officials last night made the grim admission that they do not know how many Hamas hostages are still alive after being taken underground a month ago.

The officials, speaking at a screening of the Hamas atrocity at the Consulate in New York, made a public plea for ‘two way’ humanitarian aid to rescue the hostages while the world calls for a ceasefire to save remaining Gazan civilians.

Lt. Commander Jonathan Conricus, speaking from Tel Aviv via Zoom, said of the 1.1million civilians in Gaza, between 850,000 and 900,000 have fled northern Gaza. Yesterday, 50,000 evacuated the region between 9am and 2pm, he said.

A generation gap in attitudes could be undermining support for Israel in the West

For many years now, Israelis have been told that the biggest threat to the survival of the Jewish state is Iran’s quest to obtain nuclear weapons.

But another long-term trend could be eroding the foundations of Israel’s security: a generational decline in western voters’ support and sympathy for the Jewish state.

Public attitudes toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict have seen dramatic swings following dramatic events. A Gallup poll conducted for Newsweek in 1982, just days after the massacre of hundreds of Palestinian civilians in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps of Beirut, registered a 17 per cent crash in Americans’ support for Israel.
