The strengths and limits of Pierre Poilievre’s ‘common sense’

What’s with the new “Frowny Cyclops” CPC logo?

If an election were held tomorrow, polls suggest Pierre Poilievre would defeat Justin Trudeau and become the 24th prime minister of Canada. And if an election were to happen tomorrow, the Conservative leader says the choice would be quite straightforward.

“Canadians will have only two options,” Poilievre told the Conservative party convention in Quebec City last night. “A common-sense Conservative government that frees hardworking people to earn powerful paycheques that buy affordable food, gas and homes — in safe neighbourhoods.

“Or a reckless coalition — of Trudeau and the NDP — that punishes your work, taxes your money, taxes your food, doubles your housing bill and unleashes crime and chaos in your neighbourhood.”

Portland trans activist ‘destroyed and defecated inside teen girl’s car over ‘transphobia’ claims

Vivian Shemansky aka The Shittiest Tranny

A Portland transgender activist faces a slew of charges for allegedly defecating and ransacking a teen girl’s car after claiming she was ‘transphobic.’

Vivian Shemansky, 44, allegedly flew into a frenzy after the 17-year-old, Jade, parked near her tent in a parking lot on August 27. After Shemansky allegedly first threw a stick at her, the teen returned to her car after just 10 minutes to find it covered in human waste with every window smashed.

The teen’s mother, Lisa Thomasson, told The Post Millenial that her daughter was ‘in tears’ when she discovered her destroyed car, which was written off due to the disgusting act as cops deemed it a ‘biohazard.’

Frustrated Liberals say Pierre Poilievre is crushing them — and some of them are blaming Justin Trudeau

They are frustrated. Many are discouraged. Others are angry. Morale in the Liberal caucus is as bleak as Grit MPs report ever seeing it.

If Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hears them out — and his backbench musters up the courage to speak, MPs predict “sparks will fly” when the Liberal caucus meets in London, Ont., next week.

“We don’t feel that we have a partner in the Prime Minister’s Office that is doing what it needs to be doing to help us at this time,” said one of more than a dozen MPs who spoke to the Star for this column. Some MPs requested anonymity to speak candidly, others spoke on-the-record. On or off the record, they all believe change is drastically needed.

This is one of the more bizarre Star/LPC propaganda pieces in a while. Liberal MP’s say they’ve taken the pulse of the people and housing and the cost of living are the issues that matter but the PM isn’t doing enough to communicate the LPC’s concern and solutions to these matters.

Oddly none of the MP’s or the Star columnist mention Trudeau and his corporate cronies are the single greatest creators of the housing crisis with their heinous mass immigration policy. But they have convinced themselves of Justin’s fine environmental stewardship failing to admit  the damage Trudeau’s eco-policy has done to people’s pocketbooks by throttling the oil industry and imposing carbon taxes that are magically supposed to change the weather, fight forest fires and offset China’s use of coal.

Maybe they’re speaking in code or like zombie sycophants are so deeply in Junior’s thrall that reality cannot penetrate.

Guilbeault crashes Conservative convention as Poilievre finds firmer footing in Quebec

QUEBEC CITY – Fresh from a visit to Beijing, Liberal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault appeared at the doorstep of Quebec City’s convention centre on Friday to crash the Conservative party’s national convention and call leader Pierre Poilievre a climate denier.

“Frankly, it’s very easy to attack Pierre Poilievre on the environment,” Guilbeault said, adding that Poilievre is “someone who claims to be a political leader in 2023 who does not even believe in climate change, who does not believe that we should be doing anything about climate change”.

I’m betting Guilbeault got instructions from Xi.

German Museum Bans White People From ‘Colonialism’ Exhibit

A museum in Dortmund has come under fire after it was revealed that an exhibition on colonialism involved a section in which white people were specifically banned from entering, leading to accusations of racism from critics.

The “This is Colonialism” exhibition has a special space reserved for non-white people and has been going on every Saturday for several months, with organisers claiming that the policy is meant to provide a so-called “safe space” for black people and other minorities, a report from Euronews states.

Judge in Lich, Barber criminal trial expresses she is ‘very unhappy’ about timing of Crown disclosures

Frustrations boiled over at the criminal trial of Tamara Lich and Chris Barber on Friday after defence counsel raised concerns with the presiding judge about timing of disclosures from the Crown.

Justice Heather Perkins-McKey called a recess on Friday morning after she told the Crown she was “very unhappy” about the timing of the release of text messages to the defence.

The judge’s decision came after Mr. Barber’s lawyer, Diane Magas, said the prosecution disclosed this week which text messages it intended to focus on in court from an original stack of 4,000 pages.

Trudeau says he will testify with ‘enthusiasm’ if called as a witness at foreign interference inquiry

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday he will “willingly” testify before the public inquiry into foreign election interference if he’s asked.

“Willingly and with very much enthusiasm,” Trudeau told reporters at a news conference in Singapore.

“I think it’s important for Canadians to know exactly everything this government has been doing in regards to foreign interference and to talk frankly about the challenges that we continue to face in our democracies around the world.”

Just don’t ask him about China.

The Media Belatedly Discover Biden’s Age Problem

Democrats are now stuck with the declining president, but they didn’t have to be.

Last Friday’s Washington Week with The Atlantic on PBS might as well have been broadcast a year ago — a time when the press was still dedicated to debunking the notion that President Joe Biden was anything other than fit, cogent, and capable.

Why is it that no one brings up Donald Trump’s age as a demerit against his candidacy, Politico’s Kyle Cheney asked rhetorically. When pressed to answer his own question, he blamed the “years of concerted effort” by Republicans to inject into the public consciousness a narrative “weaponizing Biden’s age against him.” Though Cheney did allow that Trump has “a different demeanor” about him, the Atlantic’s Mark Leibovich went a step further in his condemnation of the GOP. “It’s not just making an issue of Biden’s age, it’s lying,” he added. “It’s saying he’s senile, saying he’s demented, saying he’s out of it.” “Right,” the magazine’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, concurred. “Mentally, he’s quite acute.”

UK Postpones Mass Surveillance Plan Until It’s “Technically Feasible”

The British government decided to leave out the so-called ‘spy clause’ from its upcoming Online Safety Bill at the last minute, but the decision’s only temporary until the technology behind scanning encrypted messages becomes accurate enough, The Register wrote on Thursday, September 7th.

“If the appropriate technology does not exist that meets [certain] requirements, then [the regulators] will not be able to use Clause 122 to require its use,” Stephen Parkinson, a Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport minister said in Westminster on Wednesday. “A notice can be issued only where technically feasible and where technology has been accredited as meeting minimum standards of accuracy.”
