End of the Encampments?

Americans have lost patience with homeless advocates’ arguments that letting vulnerable people sleep on sidewalks and in parks is an acceptable part of urban life.

Homelessness activists have lectured Americans about how they should learn to live with the large tent encampments of their “unhoused neighbors” on sidewalks and in parks. They have derided as bigotry observations that these encampments spawn violence. They have argued that the camps would disappear only when every unsheltered person receives permanent, subsidized housing, which even the most optimistic admitted would take years or decades.

Americans have stopped listening to the activists. Citizens and politicians of all stripes have recently taken steps to pass or enforce laws against public encampments, often in the same locales that once embraced a housing-only approach. They have begun to realize that the activists’ promises that encampments would be abandoned once the government provided enough handouts and housing were a mirage.

Canada is typically behind the US by a couple of years. Our urban encampments can expect a spectacular period of growth especially in Chow’s Toronto. The same “solutions” that have failed in the US will be tried and will fail here. It’s what progressives do. Always.

‘Bloody Dangerous:‘ Jeremy Clarkson Blasts Electric Cars over Safety Concerns

In a recent critique, television star and car enthusiast Jeremy Clarkson has voiced serious concerns about the safety of electric vehicles, calling them “bloody dangerous.” His concern goes beyond cars to other devices powered by batteries, like electric bikes. Clarkson writes, “People have died, and that’s not surprising when you learn that a fully charged e-bike contains the same explosive energy as six hand grenades.”

German intel: AfD taken over by extremist factions

The far-right Alternative for Germany party has become increasingly influenced by extremist conspiracy theorists, according to the head of German domestic intelligence.

The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency has warned that the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has become increasingly extremist and anti-democratic as the far-right party, surging in opinion polls, picks new candidates for EU elections.

Thomas Haldenwang, president of Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), told the DPA news agency that some of the AfD candidates had expressed “far-right extremist conspiracy theories” during the party conference in Magdeburg, where the selections were made over the weekend.

Haldenwang said party members were swapping openly racist theories such as the “Great Replacement,” which holds that political elites are deliberately introducing nonwhite migrants into Europe to supplant the white race.

Yea just a conspiracy – Germany in a state of SIEGE: Merkel was cheered when she opened the floodgates to migrants. Now, with gangs of men roaming the streets and young German women being told to cover up, the mood’s changing

Ukraine’s plan if Russia assassinates Zelenskyy

WASHINGTON — When Volodymyr Zelenskyy was asked whether he was worried by Russian attempts to kill him, he answered he couldn’t afford to be.

“If I were thinking about it constantly, I would just shut myself down, very much like Putin now who doesn’t leave his bunker,” the Ukrainian leader said in an interview with CNN last month. “Of course, my bodyguards should think how to prevent this from happening, and this is their task. I don’t think about it.”

Devon Archer: Joe Biden was deeply involved

As promised, Hunter Biden’s former business partner at Rosemont Seneca, Devon Archer, showed up to offer closed-door testimony to the House Oversight Committee and he had plenty to say. According to James Comer, Archer identified President Joe Biden as “the brand” back when he was Vice President, and Hunter Biden sold “the brand” around the world. He told the committee about at least twenty business meetings he and Hunter held with foreign entities where The Big Guy was either on the phone or there in person. He also testified about various “favors” that these clients wanted and received from Joe Biden in exchange for paying off Hunter and company. And the list of “clients” continues to grow.

CTF says Ottawa spending too much on government branding

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says the feds are going overboard when it comes to branding merchandise with the logo of a department or the motto of a Crown corporation.

“It’s like the government had a contest to see which department could come up with the dumbest way to spend taxpayers’ money and they all won,” said Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director, in a statement.

UK grooming gangs Part 1: How minor girls as young as 9 were groomed, raped, beaten, and killed by Muslim predators across cities as authorities turned a blind eye

An investigation by the Newcastle police codenamed Operation Sanctuary was launched in 2013 and it revealed that more than 700 girls were reportedly enslaved and abused for years. Minor girls were taken to parties and ladened with drugs like cocaine, cannabis, alcohol, or mephedrone before being raped and abused.

Arguing on behalf of Insar Hussain, one of the eight accused in the Rochdale child sexual abuse case, Meyrick Williams on 27th July said the victim, called Girl A, displayed “a vivid imagination”. The trial in the Rochdale grooming gang scandal has been ongoing at the Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester, United Kingdom. Eight men, all but one being Muslims, are being tried for raping minor girls over a period of four years. But the chilling facts of the case tell that the abuse gangs are not new to the UK and the exploitation has been ongoing unabated for decades.

Trudeau discovers housing crisis his destructive mass immigration policy created, declares himself blameless

There are simply not enough affordable places for people to live across Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday during an housing announcement in Hamilton, where he promised the federal government would work to scale up supply.

Mr. Trudeau stood alongside Mayor Andrea Horwath in Hamilton to announce a joint plan to build and repair 214 homes in the city, with Ottawa spending $45-million for four projects. The City of Hamilton will contribute $19.1-million.

“Today is about increasing housing supply,” Mr. Trudeau said. “I will be blunt as well: Housing isn’t a primary federal responsibility. It’s not something we have direct carriage of. But it is something that we can and must help with.”

What a shit.

Niger coup: Why some people want Russia in and France out

In a sign of growing hostility towards the West since the coup in Niger, a businessman proudly shows off his outfit in the colours of the Russian flag in the traditional heartland of deposed President Mohamed Bazoum.

Since the coup, there has been a war of words between the military and the West.

Mr Bazoum was a staunch ally of the West in the fight against militant Islamists, and was a strong economic partner as well.

Niger hosts a French military base and is the world’s seventh biggest producer of uranium. The fuel is vital for nuclear power with a quarter of it going to Europe, especially former colonial power France.
