Quebec trucking company ordered to reinstate driver fired for drinking and driving

A Quebec trucking company has been ordered to reinstate a driver who was fired after she drank at least nine beers before she lost control of her truck on a Pennsylvania highway.

The driver’s actions amounted to serious misconduct, but her drinking was the result of a disability — alcoholism — and trucking company Groupe Robert should have made a reasonable accommodation for her, labour arbitrator Huguette April said in a written decision on July 18.

“The night of the accident, she needed to drink,” April said. “She admitted that even though she knew she shouldn’t, the need was stronger, like something that she couldn’t control.”

An influencer’s death foreshadows the left’s war on food

John Kerry Ass Faced Hypocrite

Two news stories broke yesterday that seem entirely different superficially but that are, in fact, closely related. The first involves John Kerry. The second is the sad death of “vegan influencer” Zhanna Samsonova.

John Kerry is a weasel. I don’t say this because of his political positions. I say this because when it’s pointed out that he owns or has owned five homes, a yacht, a private jet, and multiple very big cars, he always denies it. Those aren’t mine, he self-righteously puffs; they’re my wife’s. In addition to being a kept man, Kerry has never made the slightest push to relieve himself of the burden of all this luxury. Indeed, he believes he’s so important that it’s only right and just that he benefits from these privileges of wealth.

AfD voters can’t be ignored forever

The rise of populism is provoking hysteria among the German elites.

The rise of the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland), Germany’s right-wing populist party, is continuing to rattle the political establishment. Last month, the leader of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) caused uproar when he suggested that his party might be willing to cooperate with the AfD at the local level.

Trump 2024? New Poll Says Lightning Could Strike Twice

The United States (and therefore the West) is about to enter a period of even more weirdness, and more instability. In fact, we probably ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Why? Look at the result of The New York Times poll released on Monday. With six months to go before the first Republican primary votes are cast, the poll reveals that Donald Trump has an overwhelming lead among all his primary opponents, commanding a stunning 54% of likely GOP primary voters. The second place candidate, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, is a whopping 37 points behind.

Elon Musk sues anti-hate speech group whose chief he calls a ‘rat’

Elon Musk is suing a non-profit organisation that campaigns against hate speech weeks after he called its British chief executive “a rat”.

Musk’s Twitter, or X Corp, accuses the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) of using flawed methods to promote “misleading narratives” and of running a “scare campaign” that has driven away advertisers from the platform.

It is a certainty that any group describing itself as anti-hate or anti-racist is in fact hateful and racist.

When Our Weapons Go Missing

Washington is doing a poor job of monitoring whether the weapons it sends to Ukraine are ending up in the right hands.

Fears of loose weapons in Ukraine have become reality: Once American weapons arrive, Ukrainian criminals steal them. If U.S. arms transfer policies are not changed, Washington will inevitably accidentally arm groups that actively want to harm the United States.

In June, two separate Department of Defense inspector general reports revealed poor monitoring when U.S. weapons are transferred to Ukraine. Challenges in Ukraine’s war zone have made it nearly impossible to track the weapons.

Hundreds of migrants have been sleeping outside of Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel for a second day in a row – as NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the crisis is ‘not over.’

Swathes of asylum seekers, hailing from a number of South American and African countries, lined the streets sleeping on cardboard overnight because the migrant hotel has reached capacity.

‘I want a better life,’ one migrant told DailyMail.com from the queue outside the chaotic migrant epicenter on Tuesday morning.

Military tribunal rules Covid-19 vaccine policy unconstitutional – could result in a flood of new lawsuits against the federal government

‘Never seen anything like it’: Sniper who left military over COVID-19 policy since found ‘unconstitutional’

The non-binding decision made by a Canadian military tribunal could result in a flood of new lawsuits against the federal government and reopen a divisive debate over vaccine mandates, a legal expert says.

The Military Grievances External Review Committee (MGERC) recently found that the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccine policy within the Canadian Armed Forces may have violated the Charter rights of some members.
