Britain has been ‘colonised by immigrants’ who are costing too much money, says Manchester United co-owner Ratcliffe

Britain has been “colonised” by immigrants who are “costing too much money”, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has said.

The billionaire co-owner of Manchester United, who also owns chemicals empire Ineos, called on the country’s politicians to “show some courage” by tackling immigration, welfare dependency and the sluggish economy.

“You can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in,” he told Sky News.

Hear those rumours of an election call? Here’s what’s really happening

When Stephen Harper was Prime Minister I wrote many columns warning about the influence that right wing Americans had on his political operation, and I spent many dreary hours trying to trace his connections south of the border.

I now wonder if that was time well spent because, since the second election of Donald Trump, it has become clear that whatever influence the Republicans had on Harper’s world view, he was always as dedicated to Canadian sovereignty as a prime minister should be.

This guy is almost always wrong, so get ready for a spring vote.

Minnesota immigration enforcement surge is ending, Trump border tsar says

US border tsar Tom Homan said the immigration enforcement surge in Minnesota will end, telling reporters that President Donald Trump has approved his request to end the operation.

“I will also remain in Minnesota a little longer to oversee the drawdown, to ensure its success,” Human said during the news conference on Thursday morning.

Homan said Minnesota has become “less of a sanctuary state” since local officials have cooperated more with federal immigration officers.

Globe & Mail says you’re transphobic

In the wake of the Tumbler Ridge shooting, false claims about trans people spread online

On Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP identified the shooter in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., as an 18-year-old transgender woman who lived in the small community and had a history of mental-health issues.

But before the shooter was even identified, speculation around their gender identity was proliferating across social media.

Since the RCMP, in an emergency alert on Tuesday, described the shooter as a “female in a dress with brown hair,” prominent American right-wing influencers, social-media accounts and Reddit communities quickly spread and amplified anti-trans rhetoric.

This silly piece was written by the Globe’s “On-line culture reporter”.

I bet she learned what Ratio’d means.

More on the monster.

The media needs to stop gaslighting us about the reality of trans mass shooters

Another mass shooting, and another devastated community.

And once again, elites in the media class and public officials are so terrified of offending that they don’t dare ask the obvious question: Why are so many of the most horrifying attacks carried out by people who identify as “trans”?

After Canada suffered one of its deadliest school massacres Tuesday, police identified the biologically male shooter as 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar — noting that he began to transition six years ago.

That’s right: another deadly attack by someone who is transgender.

Jivani, who recently returned from a trip to Washington to meet with officials in the Trump administration, noted that Mexico and the United States began formal talks on the USMCA on Jan. 28.A week later, the two countries announced a joint action plan on critical minerals.

Zelensky wants to hold elections. Are they possible under martial law?

President Zelensky has tasked members of parliament with finding a way to hold elections while martial law is in effect by the end of the month, his chief legal advisor has told The Times.

“We want to be ready to conduct elections,” said Iryna Mudra, the deputy head of Ukraine’s presidential office. “Parliament has created a working group to develop changes to election legislation, and they are due to report their findings by the end of February.”

Parliamentary elections are not being considered by the working group, meaning that, even if ousted as president, Zelensky would still control the largest grouping of MPs.
