Feminist Head of Women’s History Museum Accused of Covering Up Sexual Harassment

It never fails.

I’ve pointed out that Kamala Harris had a history of covering up sexual harassment. So did a number of other top Democrat feminists. Like most forms of leftism, identity politics offers the power to commit the abuses it claims to fight. Why should the Smithsonian’s American Women’s History Museum be any different?

The Liberal-Left is Harvey Weinstein.

Welcome to Sacramento, homelessness capital of California

Wander around the downtown streets near the state capital buildings, and you marvel at how pristine they are. No homelessness problem here, you think.

But venture a little further afield, closer to the borders of the downtown core, in the parks and overpasses that ring California’s sixth-largest metropolitan area (population: 525,041) and that image changes. You begin to see in jarring detail just how pervasive homelessness is in Sacramento, Calif., ranking it among the worst in the state.

The numbers are staggering.

Feds can’t say which regulations to cut greenhouse gas emissions are working: audit

The federal government needs to start taking stock of whether its climate-change regulations are actually cutting greenhouse-gas emissions or not, Environment Commissioner Jerry DeMarco said Thursday

DeMarco published the results of a new audit looking at the impact of five specific climate change policies, which found that Canada doesn’t know how much those regulations are contributing to any reduction in emissions.

Brodie Fenlon: I run CBC News. Elon Musk’s Twitter changes had to be called out and you stupid peasants with your stupid stupid minds shouldn’t believe your own lying eyes!

But allowing a false impression of potential government involvement in our work to stand unchallenged is inconsistent with our commitment to accurate, fact-based journalism. It is disinformation. And it is why similar objections to Twitter’s media labels have been raised by international public media such as NPR, PBS, Britain’s BBC, Australia’s ABC and SBS, New Zealand’s RNZ and Spain’s RTVE, to name a few.

The end of the Silicon Valley dream

How the home of big tech lost its way

It is difficult, given what Silicon Valley has become, to convey exactly what it was like in the 1970s and ‘80s. It was a remarkable center of technology, but also the embodiment of the spirit of capitalism at its very best, as epitomized by garage start-ups like Apple. Greed, of course, is always a human motivation, but the early Valley culture was created by entrepreneurial outsiders who genuinely wanted to make the world better.

Oakland’s radical new prosecutor fits a now-familiar mold.

Oakland has always been a gritty city—the tough-luck twin to wealthy San Francisco. Under newly elected Alameda County District Attorney Pam Price, Oakland could be headed for a fate much darker than gritty. Price has been following the de-prosecution and decarceration playbook of radical district attorneys across the United States. If she stays on that course, Oakland is in for a “hella tough time,” to use the language of the Bay Area.

UN-Supported International Commission of Jurists Calls for Decriminalizing Sex With Minors

The globalists and liberal internationalists among us who frequently invoke the authority or consensus of the “international community” should read the United Nations–supported International Commission of Jurists’ (ICJ) March 2023 report on “Principles for a Human Rights-Based Approach to Criminal Law Proscribing Conduct Associated with Sex, Reproduction, Drug Use, HIV, Homelessness and Poverty.” Under the guise of seeking to remedy “hostility, exclusion, inequality, discrimination and marginalization of individuals and groups,” the report expressly calls for the decriminalization and normalization of sex between adults and “consenting” minors. The slippery slope of the sexual revolution has hit rock bottom. Woke ideology has not just defined deviancy down (in the memorable phrase of Daniel Patrick Moynihan), it seeks to eliminate deviancy from our lexicon.

How Some Americans Support Terrorism Against Israel

As Israel continues to face daily threats and terror attacks from Iran and its militia proxies, fourteen Democratic members of the US Congress have joined the Jihad (holy war) against Israelis by urging the Biden administration to reconsider US military aid to Israel.

The appeal, included in a letter signed by Rep. Jamaal Bowman and Sen. Bernie Sanders, was made public shortly after Palestinian terrorists shot dead a Jewish mother, Lucy Dee, 48, and her two daughters, Maia, 20, and Rina, 15, as they were driving to the north of Israel to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Freeland says Ottawa’s offer to public sector workers is a fair one that won’t burden taxpayers

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said Thursday that the federal government’s offer to striking public sector workers is a fair one that wouldn’t burden the treasury with unnecessarily high wage costs at a time of economic uncertainty.

Speaking to reporters at a nuclear power plant in Pickering, Ont., Freeland said the federal government has to remember the “hardworking people of Canada” who pay public sector wages.
