Grand National puts up defiant, united front in the face of animal rights protestors

Animal rights protesters have been arrested at Aintree Racecourse, amid plans to prevent the Grand National from taking place this afternoon.
Despite a large police presence at the racecourse activists have warned that they will scale fences and enter the track, in order to prevent the main event from starting at 5.15pm.

British Columbia breaks new overdose records one month after decriminalizing all drugs

Seven years after the province of British Columbia declared the drug epidemic a public health emergency, and just one month after the decriminalization of all drugs, overdoses continue to skyrocket.

According to the Canadian Press, B.C. tragically set three new overdose records this March, just the second month after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s federal government allowed the province to decriminalize all drugs starting February 1, 2023, in an effort to combat the crisis.

Florida retiree says lesbian squatters with ’15’ pit bulls trashed rental property she owns to tune of $38,000

A Florida retiree said lesbian squatters, who own up to 15 pit bulls, caused $38,000 worth of damages at her rental property after lying to police saying they paid a deposit and had been scammed by the landlord.

Patti Peeples and her co-owner Dawn Tiura discovered they had two people illegally living in their Jacksonville rental home more than 40 days ago and believe the unidentified squatters had been there since March.

They discovered the female couple – who haven’t been named, and who were evicted on Tuesday – living in their home after Peeples sent a handyman to carry out routine repairs after their previous tenants left.

‘Canadians are buckling up for the worst’: Jobs, economy concerns catching up to health care in Nanos tracking

Concern over jobs and the economy is closing in on health care as the top issue on Canadians’ minds, according to weekly national tracking by Nanos Research.

Health care began trending steadily up as the number one issue for Canadians beginning in the fall of 2022, before rising dramatically as winter arrived and hospital rooms were buckling under the strain of flu, RSV and COVID-19 cases. In late November, it hit a two-year high on Nanos’ weekly issues tracking.

Conrad Black: Totalitarian China has no serious chance at world dominance

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, at the end of his visit to China this past week volunteered that the West is in a state of decline and that China is on the rise. My own belief is that the West is at a plateau from which it will resume its advance when the United States surmounts its current state of nervosity. Nor am I convinced of the inexorable rise of China: it is a totalitarian state prone to frequent errors in almost all aspects of its foreign and domestic policy and brutalizes its own population. Apart from the armed forces, and those with some reservation, no Chinese institution is much admired and no utterance or statistic published by the government of the People’s Republic is worthy of being believed.

George Soros’ army of lieutenants get easy access to Biden White House

Far-left billionaire George Soros has a legion of loyal lieutenants who’ve racked up over two dozen meetings with top officials at the White House since President Biden took office, The Post has learned.

The progressive kingmaker’s unrivaled access into the Biden administration extends well beyond his 37-year-old son Alexander, who chairs the powerful, liberal grant-making network Open Society Foundations founded by his dad, and as The Post reported on Page 1 last week, has taken on the role of a de-facto White House “ambassador” by making at least 14 visits there.

Sensitivity Readers Are Distorting the Pages of the Past

Why is anyone shocked that authors reflect their times?

The republic of letters has been providing the world with some characteristic examples of courage in recent years. In 2020, we had the sight of junior staffers staging a walkout over the plan of their employer, Hachette, to publish a memoir by Woody Allen. The book was duly canceled, because what major publisher would ever want to go against the whims of a few twentysomething graduates in their first job?

A ‘vasectomy revolution’ threatens to plunge America into a population crisis

When America’s Supreme Court overturned the historic Roe vs Wade ruling that made abortion a federally protected right, it triggered a fierce debate over women’s freedom – and led to a total ban on the procedure in 13 states.

Campaigners on both sides had predicted precisely such an outcome, but there was another unexpected side effect. America is now undergoing what urologist Esgar Guarín, of the SimpleVas clinic in Iowa, dubs a “vasectomy revolution”.

I wonder how much the phenomenom of women who no longer value traditional relationships has to do with this.

Then there is the issue of one sided family and divorce law.

Thirty Years of Global Warming Prophecies

NBC News recently touted a report by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that says, “The chance to secure a livable future for everyone on Earth is slipping away.”  It further reported, “There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all.” This was echoed by Manish Bapna, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council: “This is the stone cold truth laid out in unassailable science by the world’s top climate experts.  We’re hurtling down the road to ruin and running out of time to change course.”

AI is a false prophet

Our enslavement to idolatry will end in disaster

Idolatry is intrinsically paradoxical. Although it enslaves humans to undisciplined desires and pleasing falsehoods, it springs from the will to mastery. It’s essential that the Golden Calf can’t talk, let alone make mountains smoke and skies thunder, as God does at Sinai. It was built to justify self-indulgence, not restrict it.

That Kaiser Gun Study The Media Love Is Garbage

It’s become virtually impossible to find reliable data or polling on gun violence these days. A new Kaiser Family Foundation report being shared by virtually every major media outlet this week offers us a good example of why. The headlines report that “1 in 5 adults” in the United States claim that a “family member” has been “killed” by a gun. And, let’s just say, that’s a highly dubious claim.

Tourist Terror Turns Ten

Under Biden, the Boston Marathon bomber won’t be executed any time soon, if ever.

April 15 will mark ten years since Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev targeted the Boston Marathon with explosive devices that killed Lingzi Lu, 23, Krystle Campbell, 29, and Martin Richard, only eight years old. The powerful pressure-cooker bombs also wounded more than 250 at the crowded annual event.
