Russian soldiers say commanders used ‘barrier troops’ to stop them retreating

Members of a recently formed Russian assault unit say their commanders deployed troops to stop them from retreating and threatened them with death after they suffered “huge” losses in eastern Ukraine.

In a video addressed to President Vladimir Putin, a group of about two dozen men in military uniform say they are the remnants of Storm, a unit under the defence ministry.

“We sat under open mortar fire and artillery for 14 days,” Alexander Gorin, a Russian soldier, is heard saying in the appeal, which first appeared on Friday on Russian Telegram channels. “We took huge losses. Thirty-four people were injured and 22 died, including our commander.”

The Real Meaning Of ‘Pro-Palestinian’

An anti-Israel group called Palestinian Solidarity Forum (PSF) on March 20 invited officials from the Iranian-backed Palestinian terror groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) to speak at an event at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

The two terror leaders, Khaled Qaddoumi of Hamas and Nasser Abu Sharif of PIJ, addressed students during the annual “Israel Apartheid Week,” a one-sided propaganda event smearing Israel that takes place every year on a number of university campuses in the US and Europe.

Berlin climate referendum falls short

Berlin is an extremely left wing city so it is noteworthy for this referendum to have failed.

Not enough voters in Berlin supported a push to make the German capital carbon neutral by 2030, results from a referendum showed on Sunday.

A small majority, 50.9% of voters, did support the motion. However, overall turnout was less than 50% and not enough people voted in favor of the motion for it to become law.

To pass, it would have needed majority support, and the support of at least 25% of the eligible electorate.

MP Han Dong says he has retained a lawyer, plans to take legal action against Global News

MP Han Dong says he has retained a lawyer and plans to sue Global News after it published a story alleging he advised a senior Chinese diplomat in February 2021 that Beijing should hold off on freeing Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor — the two Canadians being held by China at the time.

Dong, who left Liberal caucus last week, confirmed to Global that he had a discussion with Consul General Han Tao but emphatically denied that he had advised Beijing to delay releasing the two Canadians.

U.S. wants Canada to take part in a global economic decoupling from China

If Joe Biden is right, one of the most consequential things for Canada’s economic future is happening right now.

The U.S. President just invited Canada to take part in a global economic decoupling, in a multination effort to repatriate critical supply chains away from authoritarian countries such as China. And Canada said yes.

Details are to come in Tuesday’s federal budget. What we know already is that Canada will follow the U.S. in establishing a major package of industrial subsidies. Those incentives are supposed to create the industrial base for a low-carbon future and bring jobs to North America. But it’s also supposed to separate supply chains from authoritarian countries.

Europe is up in arms about Joe’s plan. It will not work in our favour. Even the CBC reported Joe essentially relegating us to the role of hewers of wood and drawers of water noting he stated value added manufacturing will take place in the US.

Israel judicial reform: Why is there a crisis?

Since the start of the year, huge weekly protests have been held by people opposed to the government’s reform plans. The scale of the protests has escalated, with hundreds of thousands of people packing the streets in Tel Aviv – Israel’s commercial capital – and other towns and cities across the country.

Protesters have called for the reforms to be scrapped and for the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to resign. His political rivals have spearheaded the protests, though the fierce opposition to the reforms has cut across political lines.

Kia Soul is launched 10 feet into the air after a loose wheel plows into it on LA freeway

A Kia Soul was launched 10 feet into the air while driving down a Los Angeles highway after a loose wheel from a widening pickup truck plowed into it.

The dramatic moment captured on dashcam video shows a Chevrolet Silverado driving down the road – just seconds before its front left wheel breaks free.

The loose wheel then rolled into the left lane, directly in front of the Kia, catapulting the car into the air and causing it to roll once before coming to a stop.

2 + 2 = White Supremacy: How Woke Ideologues Corrupted Canada’s Math Curriculum

Two plus two no longer equals four, according to members of the Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association (OMCA), who consider the equation to be a white-supremacist dog whistle instead of a basic mathematical truth.

According to a webinar created by OMCA president Jason To, proponents of math’s political neutrality who use the phrasing “2 + 2 = 4” are engaged in an act of “Covert White Supremacy.”

Has the Ford government done anything to counter this lunacy?
