The new transit hotness: social workers

… The basics: the Twin Cities have been building out an immensely expensive and remarkably useless light rail system.

Well, you really can’t call it a system. For a few billion dollars so far we have built 2 trains that barely get used and are building another that nobody wants. The only things we have succeeded in doing is feathering the nest of consultants and construction companies, destroying traffic flow, and providing a convenient place for homeless people to overdose on drugs.

You just know this is in the TTC’S future.

Trudeau’s illegal alien benefit shoppers not wanted in Niagara Falls

In Niagara Falls, Roxham Road asylum seekers find less space and more strife as tourist season nears

Hundreds are being ‘dumped’ from Quebec into the Niagara region only to be told they’re not wanted, advocates say, as governments give few specifics on next steps

It had been a long time since Marie Saintil had last been to church, when she found herself at the pulpit of the Faith Tabernacle in Welland, Ont., on a recent Sunday evening.

“Est-ce que tout le monde parle Créole?” she asked the small Haitian congregation, a half dozen or so of whom had been shuttled to the service in their Sunday best from the various hotels in nearby Niagara Falls where they are living. The congregation nods in unison – yes, they all speak Créole.

Iran’s Regime Days Away from Nuclear Weapons

This week, US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl announced, in a statement confirmed by the United Nations, that Iran has enriched uranium to nearly weapons-grade level at an underground nuclear site, and could produce “nuclear material for a bomb in about 12 days.”

Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns tried to reassure the House of Representatives: “We don’t see evidence that they’ve made a decision to resume that weaponization program.”

This may very well be a prelude to the Iranian regime’s asking the US, “How much will you pay us not to go nuclear on the Biden Administration’s watch?’

Canadian citizenship is embarrassingly cheap and online oath makes it cheaper

Newly published figures by Statistics Canada revealed that fewer than half of permanent residents now take Canadian citizenship within 10 years, a 40 per cent decline over two decades.

Cue soul-searching among the usual Ottawa think tankers, wondering why the world’s denizens no longer wanted to be on “Team Canada.” Why did so many recent immigrants, arriving in record numbers, refuse the citizenship we hand to them practically for free and after as little as three years’ residence, or 1,095 days spent within the country out of the last five years?

What happens when Mr. Loud becomes Mr. Quiet? Ask Pierre Poilievre

In the Mr. Men classic children’s books by Roger Hargreaves, the characters are all defined by a single attribute. Mr. Tickle has long, undulating – frankly, disturbing – arms for administering his greeting of choice. Little Miss Giggles conducts herself like a stoned hyena. Mr. Greedy is shaped like an eggplant, though he recovers from his disordered eating by the end of the book.

State task force boosts reparations figure to $360K for each black Californian

A reparations task force in California has increased the amount of money it wants taxpayers to hand out in compensation for racial discrimination and enslavement.

After first proposing $220,000 payments last year, The California Reparations Task Force proposed at a meeting Friday that every black citizen in the state be given a $360,000 check.

The project could cost as much as $640 billion — but there was no word on how it would be funded in the cash-strapped state.

I think we should demand reparations for state sponsored hate.

“The need around the world is enormous,” said Kelly Clements, the UN’s deputy high commissioner for refugees, on a visit to Canada this week.

“It’s the beginning of what we anticipate will be another very difficult year.”

Feds Allowed Entry to Over 40% of Foreign Border-Crossers Deemed Risky: Audit

Over 40 percent of foreign border-crossers deemed by border agents to be security risks were still allowed into Canada by the Department of Immigration, according to a report.

Cops quit woke Austin in droves, plunging Texas city into crisis: ‘If you’re conservative, it’s a hostile place’

Texas’ woke capital, Austin, is in the midst of a policing crisis with over 300 vacancies and cops quitting because they feel disrespected, multiple sources tell The Post.

“We’re right there with Portland and Seattle and San Francisco as being one of those places where if you’re at all conservative or in law enforcement, it’s become a hostile place,” Lt. Brian Moon, who retired last month, told The Post of the city he protected for 23 years.

Trudeau resists calls for public inquiry into foreign election interference

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday again resisted calling a public inquiry into foreign election interference in the wake of multiple media reports on China’s meddling in Canadian politics, saying there are already enough examinations of the matter under way.

Opposition parties teamed up Thursday to pass a parliamentary committee motion calling for an independent probe into foreign interference. Liberal MPs on the procedure and House affairs committee opposed the motion but were outvoted by the Conservatives, New Democrats and the Bloc Québécois. The motion is non-binding.

Pilot error is blamed for dramatic F-35 stealth fighter jet crash after failed ‘show of force’ move

A catastrophic fighter jet crash aboard a U.S. aircraft carrier was caused when the bungling pilot attempted a ‘show of force’ maneuver which went disastrously wrong, a Navy investigation has found.

The incident happened on January 24 last year when a F-35C worth $115 million smashed into the USS Carl Vinson during operations in the South China Sea.
