Trudeau says making a stupid virtue signaling appointment is an ‘excellent idea’ for the RCMP

Trudeau says appointing Indigenous RCMP commissioner is an ‘excellent idea’

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says having an Indigenous person serve as the next commissioner of the RCMP is “an excellent idea.”

He made the comment in response to questions from reporters in Winnipeg today about a call from some First Nations leadership for the government to ensure the next top Mountie is Indigenous.

RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki is set to retire from her post this month, slightly before the end of her five-year term.

John Ivison: Even Liberals sense the China scandal could spell the end of Trudeau

There were similarities to the departures of New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern and Scotland’s Nicola Sturgeon — both stressed the toll of leadership, the time away from family and the human cost.

What they didn’t say was that they were both up against it politically. Polls suggested Ardern would lose the next election and the U.K.’s Supreme Court had ruled that Sturgeon’s Scottish Nationalist Party did not have the power to hold another independence vote unilaterally.

Could Justin Trudeau turn a coincidence into a trend?

Why King Charles should brace for the WORST in Harry’s latest interview

Prince Harry’s latest interview to promote his bombshell memoir Spare could prove to be the most damaging yet for his father, King Charles – as it will see the Duke sitting down with a ‘childhood trauma expert’ who believes that everything wrong in people’s lives is rooted in their negative experiences as a child.

The royal, 38, is set to speak with Hungarian-Canadian doctor Gabor Maté on Saturday to promote his new memoir, Spare, and discuss ‘living with loss and the importance of personal healing.’

Having already taken several swipes at his family in the pages of his book, this new interview will provide Harry with an opportunity to delve even deeper into his childhood – and potentially lay bare any ‘traumatic’ experiences that he believes have led to his struggles as an adult.

‘Misunderstanding’ Caused BC Company to Say Health Canada Licensed it to Sell Cocaine, Trudeau Says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says it was a “misunderstanding” that caused a British Columbia-based company to say Health Canada granted it permission to produce, sell, and distribute cocaine.

Trudeau told reporters in Winnipeg that he was “as surprised” as B.C. Premier David Eby when he heard that the company Adastra Holdings Ltd., which produces marijuana for adult use and medical sales out of its headquarters in Langley, B.C., announced on Feb. 22 that it was permitted by Health Canada to “legally possess, produce, sell and distribute” cocaine.

Majority of Canadians think Communist China ‘definitely,’ ‘probably’ interfered in recent elections: poll

A new poll shows that about two-thirds of Canadians think China’s communist government “definitely” or “probably” interfered in Canada’s 2019 and 2021 federal elections.

The findings come from a new Angus Reid Institute (ARI) poll released on March 1, which shows that 32 percent of Canadian voters “definitely” believe there was Chinese interference, with 33 percent saying China “probably” interfered in Canada’s elections.

King Charles III is not ‘in’ with the cool rocker crowd

The last coronation in England was 70 years ago when Queen Elizabeth sat on Edward I’s chair (dating from 1296) as the Archbishop of Canterbury placed King Edward’s crown (dating from 1661) on her head. It’s an ancient ceremony and, in the modern era, an infrequent one. You’d think there’d be a queue of rock stars lining up to be part of this historical moment, but they’re not. Even a king all-in on climate change can’t override a soap opera monarchy associated with colonialism, so top rockers are saying “no” to being a part of the event.

Biden’s Executive Order Nightmare: Government Will Track Every Dime You Spend

When I was a sparring partner for professional boxers many, many years ago, I was taught to be wary of the jab. It is a tactic used to distract an opponent while setting him up for a devastating power punch that takes him down for the count.

Biden is throwing jabs.

The power punch is a little noticed Executive Order with the innocuous number 14067 and its title, “Ensuring Responsible Development of Digital Assets.”

BLM Rioters Get $6M Because Cops Didn’t Wear Face Masks

The largest payout to rioters and protesters in American history.

The Black Lives Matter race riots in New York City were among the worst in the country. Racist mobs injured hundreds of police officers, started fires, looted stores and vandalized parks and statues. At least 450 businesses, many of them small and family owned, were damaged or looted by the rioters who claimed to be angry over the drug overdose death of George Floyd: a vicious career criminal who had previously robbed a woman by putting a gun to her stomach.

Arizona School Board Cuts Ties With Christian University After ‘Witchy AF’ Board Member Says Its Biblical Values Make Her Feel Unsafe

An Arizona Elementary School District cut ties with a Christian University after a “witchy AF,” “queer AF,” and allegedly “disabled” school board member wearing cat ears said the university’s “biblically-informed” values made her feel unsafe.

For the past five years, the Washington Elementary School District, which serves pre-k through eighth grade students in Phoenix and Glendale, had a contract with Arizona Christian University, which allowed their student teachers to be placed in its schools for field experience, Fox News reported. The contract provided valuable opportunities for recruitment as the nation grappled with the ongoing teacher shortage.

Confessions of a TikTok tradwife

Estee Williams was studying meteorology at college when she dropped out to follow her dream: being a stay-at-home housewife. Now, while spending her days packing her husband’s lunchbox and scrubbing the skirting boards, she films videos for TikTok in flowy dresses where she promotes a return to “traditional” values. Think Betty Draper minus the melancholy.

The martyring of Scott Adams – Cancelling the cartoonist hasn’t helped race relations

Picture this: it is 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts, and the Witchfinder General is patrolling the area in search of accused witches. The bodies of the women most recently found guilty are still hanging by their necks from the gallows; tensions are high, suspicions running wild. And suddenly, onto the town green, strides a middle-aged woman in a long cloak and tall, tapered hat. She scratches a pentagram into the dirt. She mutters incantations. She sacrifices a goat and eats its heart and declares eternal fealty to the Devil himself. And when someone points and shrieks, “Witch!”, she cheerfully replies, “Heck yes, I am!”

The sinister cruelty of lockdown has been laid bare

We now know just how drunk on tyranny the political class was during the pandemic.

They were laughing at us. They didn’t only lock us down. They didn’t only suspend virtually every one of our civil liberties, including a right none of us ever expected to lose: the right to leave our own homes. They didn’t only spy on us with drones, and encourage us to snitch on that neighbour going for a sneaky second jog, and fine teenagers life-ruining sums of money for holding house parties. They also chuckled about it. It was funny to them. In one of the most startling WhatsApp chats revealed in the Daily Telegraph’s Lockdown Files, a senior civil servant says the following about Brits returning from trips abroad who were forced to quarantine in a stuffy hotel room for 10 days: ‘Hilarious.’

Ottawa is tight-lipped about King Charles’s coronation — and monarchists are worried

Monarchists in Canada say they’re troubled by the fact that the federal government hasn’t said yet how the country will celebrate King Charles’s coronation — a historic event for the head of state that is just two months away.

Royal-watchers say that as a senior member of the Commonwealth of Nations with close historic ties to the Crown, Canada should meaningfully mark Charles’s investiture as King and the crowning of Camilla as Queen Consort.

I am not sure the Monarchy will survive William and Kate.

As for Canada, I think a respect for  tradition exists but a growing indifference may spell the end of our ties.

EU’s death sentence for cars hits a German roadblock

BRUSSELS — What was supposed to be an uncontroversial final approval of the EU’s plan to end the sale of new combustion engine cars and vans by 2035 is turning into a nail-biter that could upend the bloc’s effort to slash greenhouse gas emissions from transport.

German Transport Minister Volker Wissing threw out the EU etiquette book and warned Berlin would withhold its support for the final approval of the deal — something that is exceedingly rare once legislation has been negotiated with Parliament and backed by both MEPs and the Council.
