Sabrina Maddeaux: Under Trudeau, mediocre civil servants give themselves an A+

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s tagline “everything feels broken” elicits indignant eyerolls and denials from Liberals, but scathing new testimony from Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) Yves Giroux adds credibility to the claim.

On Tuesday, Giroux spoke to the Senate Finance Committee, delivering a series of what Politico called “sick burns” to paint a picture of a Liberal government and public service mired in dysfunction and old-fashioned laziness.

Of course they’ll appeal …

Ontario Court of Appeal denies lesser sentences for Indigenous men in meth dealing case

The Ontario Court of Appeal has rejected a father-son meth dealing team’s request for a sentencing reduction based on their Indigenous background, ruling that deterrence comes before consideration of historical oppression for those convicted of serious drug crimes.

The ruling – upholding seven-year jail sentences for both the father and son – is the latest to consider how the particular circumstances of Indigenous offenders should affect everything from sentences to bail to what a jury is permitted to hear about the accused during a trial.

Elon Musk is right. Western woke censorship puts Iran to shame.

Elon Musk, the libertarian billionaire who drives progressives all over the world crazy, has just written that we live in a disturbing middle ground between Orwell’s 1984, Huxley’s Brave Brave New World and Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

Without mentioning the Nazis and the Soviets, Islamic regimes have problems with books. Erdogan’s Turkey has replaced Shakespeare and Brecht in state theaters with Turkish authors. He also threatened books by William S. Burroughs and “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck with censorship. A cache of half a million books was discovered in a hangar in Tehran, including Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, George Bernard Shaw and Albert Camus, Homer’s “Iliad”. They were not liked by the Islamic Revolution, which had seized them.

Russian ambassador claims Canada a ‘very dangerous country’ to visit

OTTAWA – Russia’s ambassador in Ottawa claims Canada is unsafe for his compatriots to visit.

“Canada today is a very dangerous country for Russian citizens,” Oleg Stepanov said in a Russian-language interview last Friday.

“I would not recommend it for tourism, education or business.”

Now if he said Canada was a stupid country citing Trudeau as proof I would have no choice but to agree with him.

John Tory still hasn’t officially resigned after admitting affair — and he may not have to

John Tory’s professed resignation as mayor of Toronto after news of an extramarital affair with a younger member of his staff is on a slow roll, which is far from the impetus it first seemed to have.

His office now says Tory is staying on to nurse his budget through city council, while some publicly urge him to reconsider stepping down.

Could it be that the seemingly strait-laced, straight-faced politician who bounced into office in the wake of the scandalous and embarrassing charade of former mayor Rob Ford’s tenure is staying put?

I hate to say it as I am no fan but maybe it is better Tory stays on.

It’s a case of the Devil you know.

Under Tory’s tenure Toronto has begun to sink into sh&thole status.

The city annually raises taxes then wastes money coddling the “communities” that spawn most of our crime and funds all sorts of racist identity politics scams with bonus points for explicitly making white folks the target.

Transit is a homeless camp, if you drive you’re the enemy, all services in general continue to deteriorate, drug lords live in public housing and the police always have better things to do than worry about your stolen car. And if you complain you’re a racist.

So yes Toronto is well underway to becoming San Francisco north.

But under Tory we will become San Francisco at a slower pace than is to be expected under his rivals.

That’s it, that’s the only bright spot. Toronto like all Liberal-Left cities pathologically shits where it eats.

Tory may help preserve the real estate market long enough for you to sell and get out of Dodge.

He should rehire his floozie too. Why not?

Things to come in TO…

Heritage Ministry Testifies Its Had To Hire A Collection Agency To Recover Funds Paid To Trudeau’s Consultant For The Propagation Of Hate

The Canadian Heritage Ministry will change its contractor vetting process, it said at an inquiry Monday, after it had to cancel a contract with an organization accused of antisemitism. The contract was under the purview of the ministry’s anti-racism initiatives.

The inquiry found that other government departments had awarded multiple contracts to the same organization and that the heritage ministry has had to call in a third-party collection agency to try to get back funds already paid out for the contract.

Britain banned from deporting 53 foreign terrorists as European judges say it would breach their human rights

Murderers, bomb plotters and would-be suicide bombers are among 53 foreign terrorists whose deportation is being blocked by European human rights laws, a Mail on Sunday investigation today reveals.

In one extraordinary case, an Islamic State member from Bangladesh who was jailed for attempting to recruit new members in Birmingham has successfully blocked his deportation because he would lose access to free NHS healthcare.

Another terrorist, an Iranian who had ingredients for a bomb in his garage in Surrey, has managed to stay in Britain by claiming he suffers from depression.

TikTok scours your phone for personal information

TikTok is designed to collect more personal information than any other major social media app or messaging service, a new analysis claims.

The popular video sharing app has twice as many trackers in its source code than the industry average, according to the cybersecurity company Internet 2.0. The trackers, called software development kits, can be used by developers and advertisers to understand the user better.

The mysterious flying objects are proof that North America is officially vulnerable

North America is secure when we are not caught by surprise. We are best able to protect ourselves when we understand our adversaries’ capabilities and intent, and Canada and the U.S. have long done so with great success. Yet, the interception of a growing number of unidentified objects of various shapes and sizes in Canadian and U.S. airspace – some of which are believed to be of Chinese or Russian origin – shows that we are, in fact, vulnerable. And this is a game-changer.

WARMINGTON: TTC stations and entrances new tent cities for homeless

The TTC has become a homeless encampment, just like Toronto’s parks during warmer months.

But this is a tent city without the tents. Vagrants don’t need tents when they have warm hallways, platforms, bathrooms, buses, trains and streetcars to camp out in.

This won’t get better, it will only get worse.

The left want visible homelessness and lots of it.

They use it to demand more and more tax payer money not to fix the problem but to fund endlessness homelessness.

And it works in liberal-left run cities all over North America.

Quebec tells Eric Adams to stop buying NY migrants bus tickets

The government of Canada’s second-most populated province is demanding that Mayor Eric Adams “immediately” stop helping migrants illegally enter the Great White North, as recently revealed by The Post.

“Any form of assistance to migrants crossing the border where it is strictly forbidden to do so should stop immediately,” a spokesperson for Quebec Premier Francois Legault said.

“We understand that the situation of migrants in New York poses major challenges, but the situation in Quebec and particularly in Montreal is even worse and constitutes an important humanitarian issue.”

Michael Taube: After Tory’s Resignation, What Will the New Mayor of Toronto’s Agenda Ultimately Be?

Politics can be a cruel master at times. Some politicians have had periods of fiery success resembling a mighty phoenix. Others have watched the flames fizzle out in a slow burn—and, in some cases, the most dramatic fashion imaginable.

The latter is what happened to Toronto Mayor John Tory’s career in the blink of an eye.
