Iran: 44th anniversary of revolution disrupted by hackers

The government of Iran marked the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Saturday with demonstrations around the country.

The state-organized rallies differ markedly from the widespread protests that erupted after 22-year-old Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini died in the custody of the controversial morality police last year.

Human rights organizations estimate thousands of Iranians have been arrested and several protesters have been executed, but smaller acts of rebellion continue, such as an increasing number of women choosing to ignore the country’s mandatory headscarf rule.

With John Tory resigning, Ontario PC machine revs up for Toronto mayor race – local Eunuch sought

‘We’ll make sure there’s only one credible centre-right candidate,’ says a Conservative political organizer

Conservative political organizers in Toronto have shifted into high gear in the wake of John Tory’s announcement that he will resign as mayor and names of potential candidates are starting to emerge.

The two names being floated the most frequently by Ontario PC and Conservative Party of Canada sources who’ve spoken with CBC News since Tory’s shock announcement on Friday night.

Many questions remain …

Was the affair about to be leaked to the public by an unknown 3rd party? Who tipped off the Star? Apparently they have been sniffing around for some time.

Someone online noted that Tory did not apologize to the “Young Lady” in his resignation speech.

I assume that was to protect himself as it could be construed as an admission of guilt in court.

One possibility is the poor abused young lady has launched or has threatened to launch a lawsuit and Tory decided to get ahead of the story.

Another possibility is that someone at MLSE resented Tory for using the organization as a dumping ground for his discarded floozies and made their displeasure known to the Star.

He has loads of political “enemies” any one of whom may have been tipped to the story.

It’s possible family was involved but not likely in my view.

Is this the prelude to the revelation of a bigger scandal?

Hunter Biden

A trove of new emails raises new questions about whether the Secret Service “protected” the Biden family and obscured the agency’s alleged involvement in a police probe after Hunter Biden’s girlfriend ditched his gun in a trash can.

Conservative nonprofit Judicial Watch obtained via Freedom of Information Act request 487 pages of Secret Service records about the October 2018 incident — when Hunter’s brother’s widow and then-girlfriend, Hallie Biden, left his .38 handgun on in a supermarket garbage can in Wilmington, Delaware.

John Tory’s resignation leaves power vacuum at Toronto city hall

As Toronto prepares to elect a new mayor following Friday’s surprise resignation of John Tory, Canada’s biggest city prepares for the kind of political upheaval rarely seen over the past decade.

“During the pandemic, I developed a relationship with an employee in my office in a way that did not meet the standards to which I hold myself as Mayor and as a family man,” the now-former mayor said in a statement read before reporters Friday evening at Toronto City Hall.

Please God restore Rob Ford to life.

NDP leader should be holding Trudeau to account

It would be kind to call federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh “two-faced.”

During daylight hours, Singh is the enthusiastic lickspittle of the Trudeau Liberals. “Yes, Mr. Trudeau. Whatever you say, Mr. Trudeau.”

But after dark, “Jag-meek” transforms into “Jag-gernaut.” After propping up the Liberal government all day, Singh opens up his Twitter app and spends his evening hours tearing the Libs new ones.

Mosque visited by members of the Royal Family was attended by members of the ISIS ‘Beatles’ and should have had counter-extremism funding reviewed, report into Prevent finds

Meghan Markle visits Muslim terrorist mosque.

A mosque that has been visited by William, Harry and Meghan should have had its counter-extremism funding reviewed after it was linked to jihadists, according to the report into Prevent.

The report highlighted how Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in West London was attended by terror suspects, including members of the ISIS execution gang dubbed the ‘Beatles’.

The centre, which has received at least £100,000 in Prevent funding, was visited frequently by the Duchess of Sussex in 2018. Several times she went to a community kitchen there as its staff were at the forefront of helping victims of the Grenfell fire. The Duchess also championed a cookbook that raised funds for the centre’s Hubb Community Kitchen.

Why Tory knew he had to quit once extramarital affair exposed

Among the many opinions being offered about Toronto Mayor John Tory’s shock resignation Friday because of an extramarital affair with an advisor in his office, some are saying since the relationship was a private matter, consensual and has ended, he should not have had to resign.

Not often a 68 year old gets to do the nasty with Miss North Of Wawa or whatever. It may have been worth the risk of blackmail.

Covid and the pandemic of moral injury

THE term ‘moral injury’ is a new one for me, as it probably is for most. It’s more commonly applied in a military context and only recently in health and social care, since 2020 to be precise. Indeed, the literature gently, knowingly or unknowingly, nudges us into believing that moral injury, reframed as occupational moral injury, isn’t a new concept but an inevitable consequence of working in an ethically challenging health and social care system.

China Building a Satellite Base at Antarctica, Stirring Embers of Monroe Doctrine

James Monroe, call your office — or, better yet, ring President Biden — for it looks like Communist China, intensifying a competition for control over the South Pole, is building in Antarctica a satellite base that could serve as a surveillance hub in the very hemisphere that the Monroe Doctrine was intended to protect.

China is getting help from Argentina, now governed by a left-of-center regime. The Chinese, the director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Ryan Berg, tells the Sun, are leveraging their relationship with Buenos Aires to advance their interests in the South Atlantic.
