Police quintuple reward for information on pipe bombs planted before Capitol attack

Two years after explosive devices were planted outside the Democratic and Republican headquarters in Washington DC, authorities have quintupled the reward to $500,000 for information that could lead to the would-be bomber’s capture and conviction.

The night before the January 6 Capitol attack, when a mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the building in an effort to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s win, the suspect placed one pipe bomb in an alley outside the Republican National Committee headquarters around 8pm ET. They put the other bomb on a park bench near the Democratic National Committee headquarters, according to the FBI.

Fleets of made-in-Canada armoured vehicles start reaching Ukrainian battlefields

Seven months after they were first promised by Ottawa, fleets of Canadian-made armoured vehicles have been spotted reaching the Ukrainian frontlines.

At the close of a NATO summit in June, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the surprise announcement that 39 armoured vehicles originally intended for the Canadian Armed Forces would instead be diverted to Ukraine.

Anti-Tank missiles, drones, artillery shells etc must be causing a lot of deployment re-thinking.

‘Insulting and indecent’: Iran livid after Charlie Hebdo publishes cartoons of Khamenei

Iran on Wednesday warned France of “consequences” after satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published cartoons depicting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that Tehran deemed to be insulting, AFP reports.

The weekly published dozens of cartoons ridiculing Khamenei as part of a competition it launched in December in support of the three-month-old protest movement in Iran.

High personal and corporate income tax rates in Ontario are damaging the provincial and Canadian economies, according to a new study by the Fraser Institute released Thursday.

The fiscally conservative think tank says that because of federal and provincial tax increases over the past decade, Ontario has the third-highest top combined federal/provincial and federal/state personal income tax (PIT) rate in both Canada and the U.S.

The predictions for 2023 are rolling in, and they’re not pretty.

Right now, we’re at that nasty spot where inflation is high, food and homes feel unaffordable, and the economy is slowing rapidly before our eyes. Not to mention a new strain of COVID-19 on the loose.

Economists are forecasting not much growth at all this year before coming back to life in 2024, and their lookaheads are laced with foreboding.

Trudeau has outsourced Canada’s destructive immigration policy to corporate interests according to Radio-Canada

The value of one consulting firm’s federal contracts has skyrocketed under the Trudeau government

McKinsey’s influence over Canadian immigration policy has grown in recent years without the public’s knowledge, according to two sources within IRCC. Both spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The consulting firm McKinsey & Company has seen the amount of money it earns from federal contracts explode since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to power — to the point where some suggest it may have a central role in shaping Canada’s immigration policies.

A Radio-Canada investigation also learned the private consulting firm’s influence is raising concerns within the federal public service.

According to public accounts data from Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), the Liberals spent 30 times more money on McKinsey’s services than Stephen Harper’s Conservatives did.

Imagine that, the CBC picking up on what this blog and its readers have been saying for years. Canada’s immigration policy is  a welfare scam delivering masses of cheap labour to our Corporate class.  But according to Junior and his puppet masters we’re racists for having the temerity to defend our own best interests.

Funeral home owner jailed for selling body parts

A former funeral home owner has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for dissecting hundreds of bodies and selling the parts.

Megan Hess, 46, pleaded guilty in July to defrauding relatives of the dead by dissecting 560 corpses and selling body parts without permission. Hess had operated a funeral home, Sunset Mesa, and a body parts entity, Donor Services, from the same building in Montrose, Colorado.

The Trudeau government announced the long-anticipated NORAD modernization plan back in June during the run-up to the NATO leaders summit — a tense gathering where alliance members, sobered by the war in Ukraine, were expected to show how serious they are about defence spending.
