America Has Become the Greatest Exporter of Destructive Ideas

At the present time, China is the greatest threat to world stability, Russia is the world’s premier aggressor-nation and Islamist groups are the primary exporters of terror and (religious) totalitarianism.

And, for the first time in history, America is the world’s major exporter of destructive ideas.

This is hard for me to write. One of my books is titled “Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph.” It contrasts American values with leftist values and makes the case that the American value system is the finest ever devised. I define American values — what I call the “American Trinity” — as “Liberty,” “In God We Trust” and “E Pluribus Unum,” (Latin for “From many, one”), the three American mottoes found on American coins and banknotes.

FORMER Wall Street executive Edward Dowd, whom I interviewed for TCW last year, has been dissecting excess mortality statistics recorded since the Covid pandemic began three years ago. He has analysed and reanalysed the numbers and has concluded that excess death rates, in those aged 26-41, are closely related to the administration of Covid vaccinations.

‘From February 2021 to March 2022, millennials experienced the equivalent of a Vietnam war, with more than 60,000 excess deaths,’ he said. ‘The Vietnam war took 12 years to kill the same number of healthy young people we’ve just seen die in 12 months.’

For liberals, the imminent rise of “fascism” serves as a powerful rhetorical device and a political cudgel to be wielded against those on the Right — but even among conservatives there is occasional and genuine concern that racism as a political force might be making an ugly return, especially among the young.

The Bible is pretty darn clear: God created two human sexes, labeling them as male and female. “Male and female created He them” (Genesis 1:27). One would expect that a vicar of a Christian church grounded in Biblical scripture would accept God’s foundational creations, but Bingo Allison (yes, that’s his real name) knows better. The “gender-queer” vicar says that his epiphany came when he was reading Genesis, at which time he concluded that God intended sexual fluidity. No wonder Christianity is dying in England, even as Islam rises.

The rise of this new, politically correct term for paedophiles should set off alarm bells.

Won’t someone think of the feelings of paedophiles? It seems some public bodies have, and they are willing to change the language of their output to accommodate the sensitivities of this most dangerous group. Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Police Scotland were blasted for referring to those who abuse children as ‘minor-attracted people’, or ‘MAP’, in a report for a European Commission project. It seems that, just as fat people are now euphemistically referred to as ‘plus size’, and men in dresses have been rebranded as ‘transwomen’, child abusers are considered, by some, to be just another minority whose preferences deserve respect.

Ontario was recently driven into a miniature constitutional crisis due to a Supreme Court decision declaring that striking is a Constitutional right. A series of recent Supreme Court decisions kneecapping bail and sentencing provisions has helped fuel a crisis of “catch and release” justice. And, of course, Canada is now experiencing regular incidents of contentious assisted suicide cases — a regime whose existence is due entirely to Supreme Court order.

All Is Not Quiet on the Eastern Front

War is hell on earth — and if you doubt it, visit Ukraine or watch Edward Berger’s All Quiet on the Western Front, Netflix’s gut-wrenching new adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s classic antiwar novel of 1929.

Even a small war is hellish for those caught up in it, of course. But a world war is the worst thing we humans have ever done to one another. In a memorable essay published last month, Henry Kissinger reflected on “How to Avoid Another World War.” In 1914, “The nations of Europe, insufficiently familiar with how technology had enhanced their respective military forces, proceeded to inflict unprecedented devastation on one another.” Then, after two years of industrialized slaughter, “the principal combatants in the West (Britain, France and Germany) began to explore prospects for ending the carnage.” Even with US intermediation, the effort failed.

But a new documentary by British filmmaker Jake Hanrahan suggests a “large-scale, active resistance inside Russia” is now being waged by Russia’s own citizens.

“There’s this thing like, ‘Well, it must be the CIA,'” Hanrahan told RFE/RL when asked about the spate of attacks on war-related infrastructure inside Russia. “How about, ‘No’? How about some Russians are genuinely so sick of Putin that they’re going to do something about it.”
