Translation – “I read in @telegraaf, that there were racist texts at #Erasmusbrug in @rotterdam according to @POL_Rotterdam.
Can someone explain to me why black lives matter is NOT racist, but white lives matter IS racist.
And even Zwarte Piet did nothing wrong, nothing racist about it!”

Extinction Rebellion says it will stop disruptive protests as ‘very little has changed’ … and people started to beat us up

Extinction Rebellion is to temporarily halt its campaign of civil disruption after conceding “very little has changed” following four years of action.

The group, which has blocked traffic, damaged buildings and blockaded printing presses, said it would now switch to mass lawful protests in order to try and get its message across, in its new year message.

Meanwhile, Just Stop Oil admitted in its new year message its tactics “would not be acceptable under normal circumstances” but that they had “no choice”.

High gas prices caused by Russia’s war on Ukraine has hit manufacturers and their output

In Germany’s western industrial heartlands is BASF’s main Ludwigshafen facility, a sprawling complex that guzzles roughly as much gas as the whole of Switzerland.

Like many manufacturing giants, the chemicals maker has found that Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine and the new normal of high gas prices is challenging the business model the country’s industrial hubs were built on.

“These challenging framework conditions in Europe endanger the international competitiveness of European producers,” its boss Martin Brudermueller admitted in October as it unveiled permanent cost-cutting measures.

So who destroyed the NordStream pipelines? Putin or America’s Deep State?

Bryan Kohberger stalked Idaho victims before murders, wore gloves in grocery store weeks afterward: report

The criminology student accused of slaying four University of Idaho students had stalked his alleged victims before the November murders and wore gloves in a supermarket weeks afterwards, according to a new report.

Cellphone data shows that Bryan Kohberger, 28, was often in the same location as the three sorority sisters and one of their boyfriends before he allegedly slashed them to death as they apparently slept at an off campus house, a source close to one of the case’s investigators told The Daily Mail.

A transgender woman who murdered her parents over claims they wouldn’t accept her transition has been moved to a mixed-sex prison.

Andrea Balcer, 24, who identifies as a woman and uses the name Andrea, is serving a 40-year sentence for stabbing to death her parents Alice and Antonio Balcer on Halloween in 2016.

She is named as Andrew in records by the Maine Department of Corrections, which lists the name Andrea as an ‘alias’.

Dozens of New Year attacks on Berlin firefighters

Berlin’s fire department on Sunday said its emergency crews had been attacked 38 times as the city rang in the New Year.

There were attacks in other parts of the county as well as numerous instances of revelers being injured as many Germans celebrated with their first turn-of-year firework displays since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

In a series of incidents in Berlin, 15 emergency responders were injured with one of them needing hospital treatment.

The police department said 18 of its officers had been hurt in the unrest.

New York governor legalizes human composting after death

New York’s governor, Kathy Hochul, on Saturday legalized natural organic reduction, popularly known as human composting or terramation, after death.

The legislative move makes the state the sixth to do so since 2019 and gives New Yorkers access to an alternative, green method of burial deemed environmentally friendly.

But the departed may not be simply tossed on the compost heap: remains must be delivered to a cemetery corporation certified as an organic reduction facility, suitably contained and ventilated, and not containing “a battery, battery pack, power cell, radioactive implant, or radioactive device”.

Canada will require COVID-19 testing for flights from China as virus surges

They made Justin cry.

The federal government will require COVID-19 testing for travellers coming into Canada from China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Beginning on Jan. 5, air travellers arriving in Canada from flights originating from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong or Macau that are two years of age and older will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test before boarding the aircraft to Canada, according to the government.
