The Transgender Menace – It’s not just about other people’s children.

A message to Americans: you may not be interested in transgenderism, but transgenderism is interested in you — especially if you have school-age children or grandchildren.

You may not fully realize it, but, when it comes to this subject, you inhabit an entirely different society than you did twenty years ago. Published in the year 1994, the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) included several pages on gender identity disorder, a malady whose sufferers think they’re “a woman trapped in a man’s body” — or vice versa — and that is comparable to anorexia (skinny people thinking they’re fat) or body integrity identity disorder (people wanting their limbs amputated). The fifth edition (DSM-5), issued nineteen years later, eschews the word “disorder,” referring instead to “gender dysphoria,” which it defines as “clinically significant distress or impairment related to gender incongruence.”

To understand what Italy will be like in a generation, you don’t need to have the talent of Jean Dutourd, the writer and member of the Académie Française who in 1975 published “2024”, a great novel where he imagines a country where they no longer have children:

“On the street, I saw a child. He was shaking hands with his dad, in his thirties. What a curious sight! Already a man in his thirties is not something you see often. Especially accompanied by a child. I was enraptured. And I wasn’t the only one to be. Everyone turned to look. A lady stopped, a gentleman dropped his walking stick. Dad was aware of the strangeness of the situation. He looked provocatively at passers-by, as if to tell them: ‘All right, I’m young, I have a son, I go for a walk together, I talk to him in front of everyone. I love him, I introduce him to life, or at least to what I know of it. If anyone is bothered by all this, come and say it to my face!’ The faces of the people offered an exhilarating scene: a little disgusted, a little scandalized, but above all amazed”.

Progressives care more about semantics than emancipation

If 2022 has been the year of the “woman”, it is a tale with two different final chapters: one hopeful, one less so. The first is set in a distant country, where an archaic, theocratic regime threatens to be toppled by women throwing down their hijabs and demanding their emancipation. The second plays out in a more familiar setting but in an unfamiliar language; a Western nation where the word “woman” itself no longer has any meaning, its definition rewritten to include “an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth”.

This week could mark the most consequential development on the U.S.-Mexico border since January 2021, when President Joe Biden essentially opened the nation’s doors to millions of illegal border crossers. Biden’s welcome mat for illegal migrants: Sprawling tent city springs up outside El Paso ahead of Title 42 expiring and chaos at the border

A huge ‘tent city’ for migrants entering the US from Mexico is under construction on the fringes of El Paso as officials scramble to prepare for a surge in crossings when Title 42 ends.

The massive processing facility, which covers an area the size of several football fields, is being built in a patch of desert about 20 miles northeast of downtown El Paso.

Trucks carrying equipment and machinery have been making regular deliveries to the site in recent days.

Nostradamus, Nos if you’re nasty, was a 16th-century astrologer, plague doctor, accused heretic and bearded seer that has been credited with foretelling the Great Fire of London, Hitler’s rise to power, the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and the COVID-19 pandemic, to name a few.

Sometimes on the money but more often than not muddily missing the mark, our man’s prophecies lean towards conflagration and catastrophe.

Running our lives is the sort of project to which fallen humanity is unsuited

Having a close, lifelong acquaintance with the animal kingdom, from small reptiles and farm animals to dogs and cats of the large and domestic varieties, I disagree with G.K. Chesterton’s casual statement that the more one gets to know animals, the greater the distance between them and human beings appears. My own experience suggests the opposite.

Zelensky’s D.C. Visit: A Short-Term Victory Without a Long-Term Solution

The Ukrainian president gave ammunition to his detractors.

After remaining in-country to lead his war-torn nation through the most destructive conflict of the 21st century, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made his first foreign visit to the United States to make his case in a joint address to Congress.

Zelensky articulated Ukraine’s role in the “restoration of international legal order” and protecting “global security and democracy.” Immediately following his visit, the House passed over $45 billion in aid. However, Zelensky’s trip to Washington failed to move the critics that could potentially jeopardize future aid to his country. Thus, while mostly a short-term success, Zelensky’s charm offensive fell on deaf ears for the people he needed to persuade most.

He’s an Outspoken Defender of Meat. OMG!! Industry Funds His Research!!!

A UC Davis professor runs an academic center that was conceived by a trade group, according to records, and gets most of its funding from farming interests.

In 2019, three dozen leading researchers sounded a stark warning in a prominent scientific journal: To fight climate change and improve human health, the world needed to dramatically cut back on eating red meat.

The findings were quickly attacked by Frank Mitloehner, the head of an agricultural research center at the University of California, Davis, and a prominent critic of the journal’s research.

The report’s authors were spreading a “radical anti-meat agenda,” Dr. Mitloehner wrote on Twitter, where he led a backlash under the hashtag, #yes2meat. “Their so-called planetary diet is a quasi-vegan diet,” he said, calling the findings “anti-livestock.”

According to the NYTimes logic the Democratic party would be co-swindlers with Sam Bankman-Fried, their 2nd largest donor.
