Canada’s Climate Policies Lead to Energy Insecurity: Think Tank

Canada’s current climate policies, outlined in a number of federal plans that have been introduced over the past several years, could cause future energy insecurity while increasing oil and gas prices, says a new paper.

“Oil and gas are vital to our mutual security and our energy advantages should not be frittered away,” reads the paper “The Fallacies Undermining Energy Security” published by the Fraser Institute on Nov. 24.

“The wrong climate policy at the wrong time gave Russian President Vladimir Putin an undeserved financial bonus,” says the paper, which was penned by former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s chief of staff Derek Burney, who also served for some time as Canada’s ambassador to the United States.

NBC News Suspends Reporter Ben Collins Over His Elon Musk Coverage

NBC News temporarily suspended senior reporter Ben Collins for his “editorially inappropriate” coverage of Twitter CEO Elon Musk, according to the new publication Semafor.

Collins is temporarily prohibited from going on the airwaves of NBC News and MSNBC for his outward dissaproval of Musk and the tech magnate’s actions, Semafor reported, citing anonymous sources. Collins covers disinformation, extremism and the internet for NBC News.

Chinese interference: What government documents tell us about election meddling

Any strong words Trudeau may mouth about China are to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Government documents released earlier this week confirm that the Privy Council Office, the nerve centre of the federal bureaucracy which supports Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, had signs of Beijing’s alleged attempts to interfere with the 2019 general election.

Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair acknowledged having seen the 2020 memo while he was public safety minister to reporters on Friday, adding that its determinations “certainly” played a role in shaping increased government focus on electoral interference.

Female Antifa saboteur SCREAMS as she’s arrested for terror plot against Atlanta police academy

An Antifa goon was pictured screaming as she was arrested for allegedly plotting terror attacks at a planned Atlanta police academy.

Serena Hertel, 25, was snapped wailing with her mouth open as she was apprehended at the so-called autonomous zone on December 13.

Two cops were filmed lifting her into a truck, with Hertel apparently wearing the same orange hoodie she was later snapped in for her mugshot.

FBI treated Twitter as a ‘subsidiary,’ flagged tweets and accounts for ‘misinformation’

The FBI and other law enforcement organizations treated Twitter as a “subsidiary,” flagging numerous accounts for purportedly harmful “misinformation” since January of 2020, according to the sixth installment of the “Twitter Files” released Friday.

Independent journalist Matt Taibbi described the FBI’s relationship with Twitter as having a “master-canine quality” with “constant and pervasive” contact between the bureau and the social media giant.

“Between January 2020 and November 2022, there were over 150 emails between the FBI and former Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth,” Taibbi wrote, referring to the executive who helped suppress The Post’s reporting on first son Hunter Biden’s extensive overseas business interests.

FTX pitchman Kevin O’Leary refuses to admit SBF was a fraud: ‘I don’t have all the facts’

FTX investor and former paid spokesperson Kevin O’Leary refused to condemn Sam Bankman-Fried or classify the doomed company’s meltdown as fraud during a tense television appearance on Friday.

O’Leary, one of the sharks on the hit show “Shark Tank,” provided a toothless response when pressed to point a finger at who’s to blame.

“I don’t have all the facts,” he told the hosts of CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

Musk vs. Fauci

Well, maybe you had the seeming transhumanist Big Tech Czar going after Emperor Fauci on your 2022 bingo card, but I sure didn’t. Yet, as Pope Francis loves to say, we do have a “God of surprises,” and I think Elon Musk looking like a veritable white knight against one of the greatest criminals in American history is a surprise, to say the least.

If you weren’t aware, Musk went after Fauci—and gender pronouns, I might add—with a tweet from a few days back, stating: “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.”

Japan has approved its biggest military buildup since the second world war, warning that China poses the “greatest strategic challenge ever” and outlining plans to develop a counterstrike capability funded by record defence spending.

The plans, announced by the government on Friday, reflect growing alarm over a more assertive Chinese military and a North Korean regime that continues to improve its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.

But the changes have also triggered criticism that Japan is abandoning more than seven decades of pacifism under its postwar constitution.

How dare Twitter suspend the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Conservative journalists were suspended left and right, and had their accounts shuttered for years, publications had news stories blocked, and when it all came out in the #TwitterFiles, the media defended it.

Multiple publications sneered that it wasn’t a big deal anyway and conservatives were crybabies.

But now it’s a crisis.
