RCMP, OPP commissioners discussed retroactive support of Emergencies Act … and using an app that didn’t store deleted messages

RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki told her counterpart in the Ontario Provincial Police that the federal government could ask them for a letter of support for the Emergencies Act after it had been invoked.

Text messages between Commissioner Lucki and OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique were tabled at the inquiry studying the use of the sweeping legislation on Thursday.

… Commissioner Lucki’s texts also show that she twice asked Commissioner Carrique about using a different messaging app that she said does “not store deleted messages.”

Blinken, Joly dodge question of Canada’s possible role in military mission in Haiti

OTTAWA – Efforts to organize a multilateral military intervention in gang-ravaged Haiti are ongoing – but neither Antony Blinken nor Melanie Joly was willing to say publicly Thursday whether Canada would be tapped to lead it.

The U.S. secretary of state and his Canadian foreign-affairs counterpart met in Ottawa on day 1 of Blinken’s two-day visit north of the border, his first in person since becoming the Biden administration’s top diplomat last year.

OPP head says comments that ‘Freedom Convoy’ was national security “threat” akin to saying Monkeys might fly out of his butt, unlikely but possible

OPP head defends comments that ‘Freedom Convoy’ was national security threat

Carrique testified at the public inquiry Thursday, where he clarified that he agrees there were no credible national security threats. He said the word “threat” was used to indicate that something could potentially happen, and that the situation called for further analysis.

“This is talking from a strategic level: What are the risks that need to be taken into consideration when making decisions and developing plans?” he said.

“The word ‘potential’ is almost immaterial. It’s like saying that there’s a threat of rain today. Does it change the situation when you say there’s a potential threat of rain today? I would suggest to you it does not. What is required is further analysis of that threat.”

Not much of a defense.

Community Media Advocacy Centre senior consultant Laith Marouf says the Heritage Ministry “begged” Montreal-based CMAC to take a grant, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

… “(Heritage Canada) begged (CMAC) to apply within four days to receive funding to create a series of conferences across the country that bring together racialized and Indigenous broadcasters, media producers, academics, to discuss a strategy for anti-racism in the media,” Marouf said in the podcast.

Fentanyl Is a Weapon of Mass Destruction

On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists slammed commercial airliners into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. This unprecedented attack against the United States killed 3,000 Americans. The United States responded with a complete reorganization of our nation’s approach to homeland security and counterterrorism.

Since 9/11, enterprises in China and cartels in Mexico have produced and exported thousands of pounds of a lethal chemical that has killed over 100,000 Americans. Despite this deadly assault on America, there has been no decisive whole-of-government reaction by the United States to solve this problem. In fact, there has been almost no coordinated reaction at all.

The unholy alliance between Republicans and Islamists

Conservative despair about the liberal erosion of the West is delivering it to its mortal foes.

The tacit alliance between the Western left and the Islamists—Muslims intent upon conquering the West for Islam—has long been a source of deep concern.

Left-wingers, who exercise outsize influence over Western culture, sometimes make common cause with Islamists over their mutual aim of destroying the West and the State of Israel. This is even though the Islamists’ theocratic denial of democracy and human rights, their oppression of women and their persecution of gay people and dissidents run wholly contrary to the Western left’s professed values.

As if that axis isn’t dangerous enough, there’s now disturbing news of a parallel attraction developing between Islamists and conservatives. In a long and important article in Focus on Western Islamism, Sam Westrop has detailed a burgeoning alliance between Islamists and American Republicans.

U.S. Program Aims to Keep Sensitive Weapons in Ukraine

Following concerns in Congress and accusations by Russia about weapons smuggling, the Biden administration released its blueprint on Thursday for ensuring that the $17 billion in arms it has so far sent to Ukraine were making it to the battlefield — and not the black market.

Officials said many aspects of the plans, which were put in place over the summer, were classified and could not be publicly revealed without risking the steps necessary to tracking weapons that the West has delivered to Ukraine since Russia invaded in February.

A five-page document broadly outlining the program described providing additional support to Ukraine’s own efforts to account for the weapons, as Kyiv has pledged to do, including training for border guards and stricter monitoring of arms and ammunition.

How Americans, Europeans Embolden Palestinian Terrorism

The Lions’ Den is a new terrorist group based in the West Bank city of Nablus, which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority (PA). The group consists of dozens of gunmen affiliated with a number of Palestinian factions, including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the ruling Fatah party headed by PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

The PA, which has hundreds of security officers in Nablus, has failed to take any measures to rein in the Lions’ Den terrorists, who have claimed responsibility for a series of shooting attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians in the Nablus area over the past few weeks.

Hillary, Heal Thyself

She tried to steal the 2016 election, but now pops up as a self-appointed expert on election integrity.

The hypocrisy of Hillary Clinton is scarcely believable. Despite her obvious attempt to steal the 2016 election — she hired foreign agents tied to Russia to smear her opponent as an agent of Vladimir Putin — she has the gall to claim that Republicans “already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election, and they’re not making a secret of it.”

She asserts out of thin air that the Republicans will use courts to invalidate legitimate votes. In a ghoulish example of brazen gaslighting and projection, the candidate who paid for a phony dossier full of Russian disinformation against Donald Trump still claims that he won improperly.

Hybrid attacks on the rise across Europe

German rail sabotage

Multiple acts of sabotage have taken place on key infrastructure

Over the last month, a wave of mysterious hybrid attacks have taken place across Europe. It is not clear whether these incidents are related, but the frequency with which they’ve occurred is notable. All have taken place since the Nord Stream pipeline attacks at the end of September, marking Russia out as a suspect — but there is almost no proof either way.

Royal family prepares for Harry’s ‘nuclear’ memoir as they are warned bombshell autobiography ‘is critical of everyone and everything’ – with palace lawyers on ‘standby’

The Royal Family’s lawyers are on standby for Prince Harry’s ‘nuclear’ memoir amid fears it is ‘critical of everyone and everything’ and that reports of it being toned down are ‘overblown’.

Billed as a work of ‘raw, unflinching honesty’, the controversial book will be eye-catchingly called Spare – a ‘loaded’ reference to his position as the younger brother of the heir to the throne.

Family members were not informed of the Spare title in advance of the announcement yesterday, while the Spanish language version is even more pointed, having been given the subtitle En La Sombra, or ‘in the shadow’.
