Fighter squadron commander removed from post after probe into sexually explicit pilot call sign

The commander of one of Canada’s frontline fighter jet squadrons has been removed temporarily from his post, CBC News has learned.

It’s part of the fallout from a military police investigation into the decision to assign an allegedly derogatory, sexually explicit call sign — a military nickname — at an informal social gathering on June 23, 2022.

The police investigation resulted in administrative charges against three officers on Thursday, according to a statement from the Canadian Forces Provost Marshal.

Trudeau, Poilievre neck-and-neck in preferred prime minister polling: Nanos

It’s virtually neck-and-neck between Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre as the preferred prime minister in the minds of Canadians.

New polling from Nanos Research has found that the Conservative Party leader is the preferred prime minister for 30 per cent of Canadians. But Trudeau isn’t far behind, sitting at 29.8 per cent.

It’s beyond me that anyone could possibly think Trudeau fit for office.

Accused Waukesha parade killer Darrell Brooks weeps while presenting his defense to jury

“There’s always two sides to every story,” Brooks said as he opened his defense case on day 14 of the high-profile trial, the outlet said. “There’s only been one side told to this story.”

Brooks is charged with driving his red Ford Escape into the heart of the festive parade, leaving more than 60 people injured and six dead, according to police.

Not every story has two sides.

He recorded the incident as it happened and subsequently posted the video to social media, garnering sympathy from his thousands of Muslim followers and leaving many wondering if they’d be the next victim of an “Islamophobic” hate-crime.

Commissioner Brenda Lucki says request to release gun info came from office of public safety minister

The RCMP has finally released a recording of a controversial phone meeting in which the head of the RCMP dresses down staff in Nova Scotia for communications following the mass killings in the province.

The meeting, held days after the mass shootings, has been at the centre of accusations that the Prime Minister’s Office and then public safety minister Bill Blair interfered politically with RCMP operations in order to benefit the Liberal government’s pending gun legislation.

Lucki and Blair are guilty as charged, gotta love how the CBC plays that down.

Portions of court documents unsealed today related to the border blockade at Coutts, Alta., in February show police were worried about the level of violence that could unfold.

Following the protest over COVID-19 public health measures that brought traffic to a standstill at the province’s primary U.S. border crossing, RCMP laid numerous charges. The most serious, conspiracy to commit murder, were laid against four Alberta men: Christopher Lysak, 48, of Lethbridge; Anthony Olienick, 39, of Claresholm; Chris Carbert, 44, of Lethbridge; and Jerry Morin, 40, of Olds.

White Americans are now more likely to die from Covid-19 than black Americans, according to new analysis of coronavirus figures.

The shift has surprised experts. An imbalance in death rates among the country’s racial groups has been a defining feature of the now-two-and-a-half-year-long pandemic, but it was not expected that the ratio would reverse.

From the start in early 2020, Covid-19 was killing more black people than white, a phenomenon experts put down to a disparity between the healthcare access available to the different groups, and the prevalence of underlying health conditions.

The Department of Defense announced Thursday that the Pentagon will pay for service members and their dependents to travel to abort their unborn babies.

A Pentagon memo obtained by The Daily Signal says that it will establish “travel and transportation allowances for Service members and their dependents, as appropriate and consistent with applicable federal law and operational requirements, and as necessary amend any applicable travel regulations, to facilitate official travel to access non covered reproductive health care that is unavailable within the local area of a Service member’s permanent duty station.”
