As New York’s Gun Law Goes Into Effect, Demand for Permits Spikes

By the time the Niagara County Courthouse opened on Wednesday morning, 150 people were lined up to apply for permits that would let them carry concealed handguns. Nearly 100 had camped out overnight, with some staying awake in folding chairs, taking walks at intervals to keep warm.

The permitting office at the county courthouse, located in Lockport, N.Y., has been processing about 150 applications every day this week, officials said, part of a spike in demand before most provisions of New York’s new gun law go into effect on Thursday. Similar lines have formed outside permitting offices around the state ahead of the new rules, which are designed to tightly control firearms after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a century-old law regulating guns that was among the nation’s strongest.

She started to transition to become a man in March 2020 after spending years struggling with gender dysphoria; she took testosterone which saw her voice drop and she went by the name of Tony.

Manned space flight is just another form of welfare

Due to advances in technology, there is now renewed interest in manned space flight. I hope I’m not alone in asking, “What’s the point?” For extraterrestrial scientific discovery, robots do a much better job at a significantly lower cost.

Tom Wolfe, in The Right Stuff, laid it all out. Sending astronauts up into space, during the Cold War, was a return to the medieval practice of single warrior combat. Rather than having whole swarms of fighters slashing and bludgeoning each other, the two opposing forces would, on occasion, send only their best champions to fight, one on one, while the rest would just watch and await a symbolic victory.

The Cold War, however, is over.

Saudi Arabia is investigating a disturbing video that shows security forces beating young women and dragging them around by their hair, after they reportedly staged a hunger strike over poor living conditions in an orphanage.

It came as a Saudi woman was sentenced to more than 40 years in jail for comments posted on social media, the second harsh sentence to be passed down this month to female online activists.

The video, which has shocked Saudis after going viral, shows the group of men holding down women dressed in black abayas while they are lashed with belts and sticks.

Their production is also harmful to the people who live where they are built, leading to increased toxicity levels compared to traditional car manufacturing.

Even their emission reductions are modest. In provinces that use renewable energy, like Manitoba, electric cars reduce emissions by 70 per cent, but in most places in the world where electricity still mainly comes from fossil fuels, that number falls to 30 per cent.

Takeaway: EV’s are pretty much useless but we should build em anyway.

Two weeks ago you may have seen a lot of news segments surrounding Boston Children’s Hospital. Deleted videos and archived web pages pointed to the fact that they were providing “gender affirming” care to young people including puberty blockers, double mastectomies, phalloplasties, and hysterectomies.

The Left immediately seized upon the wording of one tweet in regard to hysterectomies and argued that it’s only done on 18-year-olds. Because they apparently think that’s okay. They attacked myself, Matt Walsh, Chris Elston, and Christina Buttons for a week straight. So much so that one would believe they are actually very much against “gender affirming” hysterectomies! Just as any sane person with a few brain cells would be.
