The ‘MacGyvered’ Weapons in Ukraine’s Arsenal

WASHINGTON — The billions of dollars in military aid the United States has sent Ukraine includes some of the most advanced and lethal weapons systems in the world. But Ukraine has also scored big successes in the war by employing the weapons and equipment in unexpected ways, and jury-rigging some on the fly, according to military experts.
From the sinking of the Moskva, Russia’s Black Sea flagship, in April to the attack on a Russian air base in Crimea this month, Ukrainian troops have used American and other weapons in ways few expected, the experts and Defense Department officials say.

It was America’s bio-spooks who locked down the West

IT is nearly two years since the world turned upside down and a sequence of unprecedented lockdowns and quarantines in the name of public health and safety were imposed across the West.

The narrative of the still unfolding story of Covid-19 is familiar to all of us, with China the chief bogeyman of the tale. But is that right?

In this drama has something really important been overlooked? Namely, the role of a powerful, self-appointed supranational organisation, set up 2017, called the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations…

Interesting, this is a 4 part series of Covid coverage by Paula Jardine of CW.

We are still in denial about radical Islam

Even the savagery of the ‘ISIS Beatles’ is already being forgotten.

On 11 September 2011, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, there was a mass brawl outside a pub in Marble Arch in London. A bunch of boozed-up members of the English Defence League had a run-in with Muslim youths. It was depicted as typical EDL ugliness. As one eye-witness described it to the Evening Standard, the ‘EDL guys’ were drinking outside the pub ‘when a large group of Muslims walked past’. The EDL thugs ‘started hurling racist abuse at the Muslims, who took offence’. ‘[The Muslims] got angry’, the eye-witness said, ‘and were yelling back’. Things escalated and two EDL members were stabbed.

GOLDSTEIN: Canada’s divider-in-chief is Trudeau, not Poilievre

While Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre keeps getting pounded by fellow leadership contenders, MPs in other parties and much of the media for dividing Canadians, suggesting he is the instigator of verbal attacks and threats aimed at Liberal and NDP politicians and journalists, let’s not forget who the divider-in-chief in Canada is.

‘Moorish Nation’ Members Arrested After Breaking Into NASCAR Driver’s Mansion

A South Carolina couple accused of breaking into and squatting a $16-million-dollar mansion belonging to a NASCAR driver have an interesting excuse: they are members of the “Moorish Nation” that claims its members are the rightful owners of all property.

Darius Trrone Hall, 29, and Nataijah Shaieena Fields, 37, were arrested earlier this month after allegedly breaking into the North Carolina home of NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., WB-TV reported. The Mooresville home boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and almost 10,000 square feet, and is currently on the market for $15,995,000.

Here’s why Pierre Poilievre will be watching Quebec’s provincial election campaign

MONTREAL—It has been more than a decade since Quebec voters have handed a party a second governing mandate. Over that period, the Parti Québécois, the Liberals and the Coalition Avenir Québec have all had a turn at the helm.

On Oct. 3, Premier François Legault is hoping to break that pattern. With the campaign officially underway as of this weekend, here are five early takes on the state of play in Quebec …

FBI: No, we would never have told Zuckerberg to bury the Hunter laptop story

When Facebook/Meta honcho Mark Zuckerberg went on the Joe Rogan show recently, he created some waves by confirming something most of us were pretty sure of already. In the weeks before the 2020 election, the FBI directly contacted Facebook and told them that the Hunter Biden laptop story was going to drop and that it was “probably Russian disinformation.” Of course, the story was 100% real and not disinformation of any sort, but Facebook went ahead and suppressed the New York Post story about it anyway until Joe Biden was safely past the general election.

I don’t believe either of them.

Scientists to Study Pig-Organ Transplants in Brain-Dead People for Longer Periods

Perfect.

Extended studies could provide data for future research but raise ethical concerns because of delay in burial and closure

As part of long-term efforts to address the shortage of lifesaving organs, scientists plan to extend the duration of studies in which genetically modified pig organs are transplanted into brain-dead individuals.

The move could provide crucial data to help launch clinical trials of animal-to-human transplants in living patients—but it also raises ethical and scientific challenges for the doctors and families involved.

Twitter and Meta take down pro-US propaganda campaign

Twitter and Meta have removed from their platforms an online propaganda campaign aimed at promoting US interests abroad, researchers say.

This is the first major covert pro-US propaganda operation taken down by the tech giants, says a report by social media analytics firm Graphika and the Stanford Internet Observatory (SIO).

They removed dozens of accounts used in the campaign in July and August.

It is not clear who is behind the propaganda operation.

Still More Dangerous New Concessions by Biden Administration for a Nuclear Deal with Iran’s Mullahs

Since assuming office, the Biden administration’s policy towards the Iranian regime has been one of capitulation and giving concessions to the ruling Islamist mullahs of Iran. So far, they include suspending some of the anti-terrorism sanctions on Iran-backed Houthis, then revoking the designation of Yemen’s Houthis as a terrorist group; disregarding Iran’s oil sales to China; shipping oil to Syria, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Venezuela in direct violation of US sanctions; ignoring the Iranian regime’s crackdown on protesters, smuggling weapons to the Houthis and Venezuela; attempting to murder US former officials and citizens on American soil, and taking more foreign hostages.

On top of that, newly leaked information from inside Iran, obtained by Iran International, reveals that the Biden administration has made even more concessions to revive the nuclear deal, which have not been revealed to the public. According to the report, “the US guarantees that its sanctions against IRGC would not affect other sectors and firms: e.g. a petrochemical company shouldn’t be sanctioned by US because of doing business with IRGC.”

German state leader ‘not wanted’ in Ukraine after war remarks

The state premier of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, drew the ire of Ukraine’s ambassador in Germany over a suggestion that the Russian war be “frozen” to give diplomacy a chance.

Kyiv’s ambassador in Berlin, Andriy Melnyk, rescinded an invitation to the Premier of Germany’s Saxony state, Michael Kretschmer to visit Ukraine.

“I invited you to Ukraine. This invitation has been canceled. You are not wanted. Period,” the diplomat wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

Nothing happens by accident right?
