Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Would You Like An Olive?), who is already renowned for her wisdom and intellect, is the Democrats’ best hope to take on the evil Trump and prevent him from forcing another pause in their ongoing efforts to destroy the United States as a free and sovereign republic.

After the lowest rainfall in July since 1911, the UK is facing an unusually dry summer. Unsurprisingly, the usual suspects in the media, aided by the Met Office and the Environment Agency, have talked up this weather event as a ‘drought’ of truly Biblical proportions. In Britain, the drought has now replaced July’s heatwave as the focus of climate scaremongering.

The UN has called for international inspectors to be given access to the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, after it was shelled at the weekend. But how dangerous is the situation and what is likely to happen next?

The plant, built in the Soviet era, is the largest nuclear reactor in Europe. Its six pressurised water reactors (of which at least two are currently operating) are important to Kyiv as they can produce power for up to 4m homes.

Situated on the south bank of the Dnieper river at Enerhodar, south-west of the city of Zaporizhzhia itself, the plant occupies an extremely important strategic position both for Russian and Ukrainian forces, who have been contesting control of the site since early in the war.

The mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, Ameer Haiderah Ghalib, was recently exposed for mocking black political demonstrations and endorsing comments that referred to African Americans as “animal” and “inhuman.” He also accused Arab world leaders of being secret Jews and “liked” a Facebook post calling Jews “monkeys” who tax “the air we breathe.”

Western outlets and politicians are becoming more strident in their criticism

Three days. The publication of a CBS report ‘Arming Ukraine’ lasted three days before it was taken down for quoting an NGO worker who said that only 30% of western aid was reaching the frontlines of Ukraine. According to the network, the NGO worker gave this assessment in late April, insisting that delivery had since improved. Now the documentary is being ‘updated’ to reflect this new information.

Despite the backlash against CBS, there has been a slow but perceptible shift in discussing topics that were once considered verboten.

Sandeep Chaturvedi, 26, is readying to record his new song in a makeshift studio in the city of Ayodhya in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

The song is about a mosque that has became a subject of controversy after Hindus claimed the right to worship there. It is riddled with innuendos against Muslims. But Chaturvedi says the song could get him back in business.

Chaturvedi’s songs are part of a growing trend of music on YouTube and other social media platforms where supporters of the Hindu right-wing spew venom at Muslims.

Gee I wonder what that racist at The Star has to say about this.

AOC’s district suffering through ‘major’ crime surge as she pushes to defund police

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) district saw a 57% increase in major crime under her tenure, a new study found.

The district suffered massive increases in what the New York Police Department considers the seven “major” crimes of murder, rape, robbery, felonious assault, burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny auto, a study by former NYPD inspector Paul Mauro found. Shootings went up by 47.05%, the study said.

“Let’s just say, with those numbers: Were she a precinct commander, she’d better have some answers for the chief of department,” Mauro wrote in an opinion piece.

The detective assigned to investigate the death of Spaulding — a chiropractic assistant who didn’t do drugs, wasn’t in a gang and lived close to the house where he was born — left in 2020 in a wave of retirements and the detective assigned to it now is swamped with fresh cases after Portland’s homicide rate surged 207% since 2019.

RCMP has yet to turn over info on cellphone spyware program to privacy watchdog

More than a month after the RCMP admitted to using invasive cellphone spyware technology, the national police force has yet to turn over information about the program to Parliament’s privacy watchdog.

Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne told the House of Commons’ ethics committee that he found out about the RCMP’s “Covert Access and Intercept Team” and its use of cellphone spyware through media reports in late June.

FUREY: When hospitals can’t keep doors open, it’s time to fire people

This past weekend, a hospital in the nation’s capital shut down its emergency department overnight. Montfort Hospital, in the east end of Ottawa, was closed between 7:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The residents of this community are not being well-served, and they have a right to be angry and to demand better. Right now, we have hospital executives and provincial governments spinning the public about how this is a complex problem with multiple factors at play.

Eighty years ago, on Aug. 7, 1942, American Marines went ashore on the tropical islands of Guadalcanal and its tiny neighbors Tulagi, Gavutu, and Tanambogo. This marked the first sustained offensive action by American land forces in the Pacific. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, America and its allies had been chased out of the Philippines, Wake Island, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. It was as Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto said, the time of “running wild” for six months, with no “expectation of success” thereafter. The Japanese had awoken a sleeping giant by attacking Pearl Harbor.

Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,’ he said in shocking statement released on Monday night.’

‘After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.’

They are damn scared of what Biden has wrought.
