The Girls Are Beating the ‘Girls’ – The Lia Thomases and their enablers finally get some pushback.

This isn’t a great week to be a transgender advocate. It’s also not a particularly good week to be a lousy establishment politician. I’m not saying it’s a great week for everybody else, but at least in one small sliver of the universe there is some hope for us normals.

In Indiana and Louisiana, for example, the state legislatures are acting to protect girls’ and women’s sports from the trans invasion, even despite opposition from the awful governors of the two states.

Canadian military members told Habitat for Humanity is an option amid housing crunch

An email encouraging members of the Canadian Armed Forces to consider contacting Habitat for Humanity if they can’t find affordable housing is casting a spotlight on a growing challenge facing military personnel and their families.

The email was sent by a senior officer at 19 Wing Comox to other members at the Royal Canadian Air Force base on northern Vancouver Island, which is home to the military’s search-and-rescue school as well as several squadrons of aircraft.

“Further to our discussion this morning, one potential housing option for our folks is Habitat for Humanity,” said the email dated May 5. “Should this be of interest to any of your personnel, please have them review the information located here.”

Develop new skills! Like standing in a welfare line! This will really help recruiting.

Russian default just ‘a matter of time’ after US blocks bond payments

Kremlin vows to service its debt in roubles – an option that’s already been rejected

It is “a matter of time” until Russia defaults on its foreign debts after Joe Biden cut the Kremlin off from paying its bondholders.

Moscow is on the cusp of its first foreign debt default in a century after the US allowed an exemption permitting Russia to meet its obligations to international creditors to lapse.

The cut-off, which means US banks and individuals are banned from receiving bond payments from Russia, comes before Moscow is due to make a tranche of payments worth around $100m this Friday.

Trudeau cancels appearance at Surrey fundraiser after protesters (allegedly) hurl racial slurs

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was forced to cancel plans to attend a fundraising dinner on Tuesday evening after two speakers at the event said protesters hurled racial slurs at the mostly South Asian attendees entering a convention centre in Surrey, B.C.

Trudeau did not enter the building and spoke to a crowd for about three minutes by Zoom instead of making a speech in person.

He said no one should be intimidated or stopped from exercising their democratic freedoms “because that’s what this country is all about.”

Funny thing is there seems to be no video record of the alleged slurs that I can find, that sort of thing would be fire on Twitter. Please prove me wrong.

Smells like LPC propaganda served up by a bought-off press.

Texas school shooter Salvador Ramos was bullied at school because of the clothes he wore and because his family was poor, former classmate says

Warped mass murderer Salvador Ramos was a failing high school loner with an ‘aggressive streak’, who was bullied for being poor and mocked for wearing eyeliner.

That is how former classmates and colleagues have described the ‘evil’ killer, 18, who slaughtered at least 19 innocent children in the second deadliest school shooting in American history in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, before being shot dead in a shootout with a border patrol officer.

Described by one pupil as an ’emo’, his lisp also made him a target, according to the Washington Post, with classmates claiming he endured gay slurs. Another said he was mocked for his clothing.

None of that is reason.

Nato’s united front is crumbling now that Putin has been humiliated in Ukraine

Western unity will be sorely tested if the conflict turns into a war of attrition with no side claiming victory

Aquarter of a year has now passed since Vladimir Putin sent his tanks into Ukraine. And the first drafts of history have already been written. Their rough conclusions seem to go along the following lines.

First, to add to Talleyrand’s famous phrase, Putin has committed both a crime and a blunder. The Russian military has shown itself to be corrupt and inefficient. The Ukrainians have shown themselves to be quite astonishingly stalwart defenders of their homeland. And the West has shown itself to be unpredictably united.

Is Putin Committing Genocide in Ukraine?

After three months, the historical record is now clear

Ukraine’s military intelligence service recently released a disturbing transcript of an intercepted telephone conversation between a 20-year-old Russian solider, Konstantin Solovyov, and his 41-year-old mother, Tatiana.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Konstantin tells his mother how Russian secret service (FSB) agents go about torturing Ukrainian prisoners. “Do you know what a little rose is?” he asks. “No,” she replies. “One can make 21 roses on a man’s body,” he explains, referencing the Russian practice of giving one’s beloved 21 roses. “20 digits and the member. Sorry.”

The Guardian is wrong: jihadis are still the biggest terrorism threat

Left-wing publications are inflating the risk of far-Right extremism

Earlier this week, the Guardian ran a report on the government’s counter-terrorism programme, the Prevent strategy, titled “Anti-terrorism programme must keep focus on far right, say experts”. It was based on experts’ concern over the anticipated direction of the strategy review, which, according to leaked documents, reportedly recommends “a crackdown on Islamist extremism rather than the threat of the far right”.

International Crackpot Henry Kissinger: Ukraine must give Russia territory

Former US Secretary of State warns against the defeat of Putin as Western unity on sanctions frays badly

Veteran US statesman Henry Kissinger has urged the West to stop trying to inflict a crushing defeat on Russian forces in Ukraine, warning that it would have disastrous consequences for the long term stability of Europe.

The former US secretary of state and architect of the Cold War rapprochement between the US and China told a gathering in Davos that it would be fatal for the West to get swept up in the mood of the moment and forget the proper place of Russia in the European balance of power.

Dr Kissinger said the war must not be allowed to drag on for much longer, and came close to calling on the West to bully Ukraine into accepting negotiations on terms that fall very far short of its current war aims.
