Majority Report: Canada’s Latest Advance in Precognitive Legislation

The 2002 film Minority Report was a box office success and, like the Matrix franchise, emerged as one of the most talked-about movies of recent times. The crux of the film involved a “precrime” policing unit that could act to prevent crimes before they were committed, on evidence provided by a team of comatose subjects with precognitive abilities. Of course, the plot was utterly absurd, demanding major suspension of viewer disbelief, but nonetheless provocative in its social and political implications.

Terror in the Tunnels

Violent crime is surging on New York subways because the justice system switched its focus from enlightened prevention to post-mayhem mop-up.

On Sunday, Daniel Enriquez became the New York City subway’s latest “random” crime victim, shot in the chest at close range and killed as he traveled from Brooklyn to Manhattan for midmorning brunch. Enriquez was the fourth person to die by violence on the subway this year, and the third to be killed by a stranger. Each of the four subway killings has something in common with the others: justified intervention by police, prosecution, or incarceration could have prevented it. A few years ago, it likely would have. New York is suffering soaring crime because it has abruptly switched its justice system from enlightened prevention to gruesome mop-up.

National Security Crisis: Russia’s and China’s Nuclear Threats

Russia’s war on Ukraine has brought renewed attention to Russia’s nuclear arsenal and the risk of nuclear war, especially after Russian President Vladimir Putin placed his country’s nuclear forces on high alert shortly after invading Ukraine on February 24. Close to half of Americans are very concerned that Russia would directly target the U.S. with nuclear weapons, and an additional 3 in 10 are somewhat concerned about that, according to a recent poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

VILLAINS, UNITED? Soros Poured Millions into Groups Trying to Bring Down Musk

Liberal billionaire mega-donor George Soros funded at least five organizations behind a now infamous letter that claimed Musk’s expected buyout of Twitter “will silence and endanger marginalized communities, and tear at the fraying fabric of democracy.” Open Society Foundations records indicate that Soros gave five of the groups behind that letter a whopping total of $3,915,000 from 2016 to 2020. All five groups — NARAL Pro-Choice America, Free Press, the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), Access Now and UltraViolet — support a variety of radical causes, including abortion, censorship and anti-woman gender ideology.

Ontario Superior Court Justice Kevin Phillips said his decision was based on how well Lich’s surety has supervised her, that she has followed her bail conditions, along with “having had a taste of jail,” which lowered risk of reoffence.

The judge said he does not accept that Lich breached her release conditions by agreeing to receive an award, and added Lich can be trusted to respect the conditions of her release.

Society ‘may not survive’ Putin’s war, says billionaire George Soros

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine may have marked the start of “a third world war,” and Russian President Vladimir Putin must be defeated “as soon as possible” if the world wants to preserve civilization.

That was the stark message that Hungarian-born billionaire and philanthropist George Soros delivered on Tuesday to attendees at the 2022 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“Even when the fighting stops, as it eventually must, the situation will never revert” to where it was before, warned the 91-year-old Soros.

Sorry Georgie, not buyin it.

Ukraine war: Put values over profits, Nato chief tells countries

The war in Ukraine has highlighted how countries need to put values before profits, Nato’s chief has warned.

Jens Stoltenberg said it had shown “how economic relations with authoritarian regimes can create vulnerabilities”.

His speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos singled out trade with Russia and China in particular.

Mr Stoltenberg pointed to issues such as Russia’s dominance over Europe’s gas supply, as well as bids from Chinese companies to run 5G networks.

Like that’ll happen, hell they’re attempting to condition us to accept that oil and gas sales with our enemy should be considered “neutral” commerce.
