It’s official: The United Nations, following the Muslim world’s lead, has formally accepted the concept of “Islamophobia,” a move that will undoubtedly further paralyze any measures against Islamic aggression, or, in a word, jihad.

The new Liberal-NDP deal may be the best thing to happen to Conservatives in years –– just, perhaps, not certain Conservatives.
Leadership hopefuls eager to take over the country’s top job sooner rather than later got a rude wakeup call when news of a confidence and supply deal broke Monday night. The pact will, barring any surprises from either side, see the Liberals retain power until 2025 in exchange for passage of some NDP priorities.

Woke academics think standard English is a tool of racial oppression.
Teaching children to pronounce words correctly is a form of racial injustice. There is no such thing as incorrect pronunciation, only alternative pronunciation.
That’s the view of three linguists at the University of Essex. In an article in the Conversation, published earlier this month and picked up by the press over the weekend, Amanda Cole, Ella Jeffries and Peter Patrick argue that the idea of standard English – a correct way to say words – is ‘pernicious’ and ‘a smokescreen for prejudice’. This dialect-based prejudice even has a name – ‘linguicism’.
A former Canadian Armed Forces sniper now fighting Russian forces in Ukraine says he was the last to learn of his own death.
The former CAF member — who goes by the nom de guerre Wali — told CBC News he returned to a safe location in Ukraine Monday after a week spent battling Russian forces on the front lines in the Kyiv region. When he turned on his phone, he discovered hundreds of urgent messages from people convinced he’d been killed in action.
This comes from the general staff of Ukraine’s armed forces, which means it’s time for another round of everyone’s favorite game when processing war news, “Truth or propaganda?”

It is not given to the mind of mortal man to understand the internal dynamics of the Conservative party. It is a monster of its own peculiar logic, and as to its nature or purpose in any given period, well, that is as elusive as the mysteries and paradoxes of quantum mechanics, and as unsearchable as the continued airing of television’s “The View.”
Despite the evident inclination by the usual suspects to favour Charest Poilievre really isn’t much different, certainly not different than the last two CPC leaders. It will be the CPC 2.0 regardless of who wins.
He’s a great wingman.

Pride Toronto commits to ‘rectifying the harm’ after findings of independent review
Pride Toronto says it’s committed to “rectifying the harm” caused by issues related to its management of federal grants.
The organization is apologizing for the problems uncovered by an independent third-party review, which found that Pride Toronto could not prove it completed several proposed projects after receiving $1.85 million in federal grants.
… Pride Toronto says it has reached out to funding partners who it “wrongly, and without their permission or approval, made false representations” about, claiming their support for Pride Toronto’s grant applications.
Isn’t that Fraud? Go Incognito.

It has been three weeks since Russia updated the official death toll to its invasion in Ukraine, leaving open the question of how many of its soldiers have been killed or wounded in the chaotic opening stages of its war.
In early March, the Russian defence ministry admitted that 498 Russian soldiers had been killed in action and 1,500 wounded, a large number after just 10 days of fighting that pointed to the danger of its attempts to take Kyiv in a lightning raid.

The worldwide toll of deaths from COVID-19 has just hit 6 million, nearly 1 million of which are in the United States. Few science stories are more important than understanding where the COVID virus came from. Yet the science writers’ section of the press corps has proved strangely incapable of telling the story straight.
Two hypotheses have long been on the table. One is that the virus jumped naturally from some animal host, as many epidemics have done in the past. The other is that it escaped from a lab in Wuhan, where researchers are known to have been genetically manipulating bat viruses in order to predict future epidemics. Both hypotheses are plausible but, so far, no direct evidence exists for either.

After crowds cheered them on from overpasses and at truck stops from one end of the country to the other, the Freedom Convoy arrived at Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Jan. 29 to protest COVID vaccine mandates. Thousands of supporters joined them to wave Canadian flags, dance in the snow, play street hockey, and cheer speeches delivered from a flatbed truck. Kids played in a bouncy castle and on hay bales.

Unlike the Biden administration, many Arabs do not distinguish between one terrorist group and another. That is why news about the possibility that the Biden administration is considering removing the Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the terrorism blacklist has been received by many Arabs with disbelief and shock.
The Arabs hold the mullahs and the IRGC responsible for various war crimes and atrocities against several countries and people around the world. Just last week, the IRGC claimed credit for a missile attack on an alleged “Zionist base” in the city of Erbil in northern Iraq. Days later, the IRGC issued a threat to launch missiles at the Gulf states.
A Southern California preschool teacher has sparked outrage after a video captured her leading her students in a chant that called for President Biden to leave office.
The clip showed the unnamed educator at the Turning Point Christian School in Norco asking the 4- and 5-year-old students, “Who’s our president?”
The kids shout in unison, “Biden!”
Officials in the US state of South Carolina say they will not pursue charges against a boater who rescued a drowning man, before shooting him dead.
Nathan Drew Morgan, 29, was shot by an unnamed 74-year old man last Tuesday after being pulled from Lake Keowee.
An autopsy report ruled Morgan had died from a single gunshot to the chest aboard the man’s pontoon boat.
Weird but sounds like the right decision.
Former Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders will run as a Progressive Conservative candidate in the upcoming provincial election.
The party announced Saunders as its candidate for Don Valley West in a news release issued on Tuesday morning.
The riding is currently represented by Liberal Kathleen Wynne, however the former premier will not be seeking re-election in June.
