He’s done his best over the last two weeks to insult them and avoid them at the same time.

One of my favourite social media photos from the Ottawa blockade is of two young women, bundled up against the cold, holding a handmade sign that says, “TRUDEAU HAS CONVOY-19.” Clearly, they think the PM has been faking his COVID diagnosis just who he can avoid them.

The Canadian government has declared a state of emergency because of the continuing protests against Ottawa’s vaccine mandate. The mayor has asked for 2,000 more police officers. Ontario Provincial Premier Doug Ford has called the protest an “occupation.”

The radical left agrees and wants their very own Jan. 6 “insurrection.”

Canadian truckers have been labeled everything from a “cult” to a “threat to democracy” for protesting COVID vaccine mandates, but Freedom Convoy organizers and allies are tired of being painted as villains by the liberal media.

“I’m downright disgusted by the press and the way they have covered the convoy,” Ontario-based trucker Brigitte Belton told Fox News Digital.

As the “Freedom Convoy” protest in Ottawa drags into its second week, police say the “volatile” situation and stretched resources are hampering their enforcement tactics.

The Ottawa Police Service estimated Tuesday that approximately 500 trucks and personal vehicles remained in the “red zone,” or downtown core of the city, making parts of the capital inaccessible.

Deputy Chief Steve Bell described the remaining protesters as “highly determined and volatile,” and said they have attempted to subvert police efforts.

A series of arrests were made late Tuesday against members of the trucker-led Freedom Convoy in Canada as the capital Ottawa remained in a state of emergency.

Police have made 23 arrests out of thousands of protesters so far across the country, with some 80 criminal investigations underway in relation to the demonstrations, the Daily Express reports.

Ottawa Deputy Police Chief Steve Bell said: “Our message to the demonstrators remains the same: Don’t come. If you do, there will be consequences.”

Two major southwestern Ontario bridges that are key trade arteries to the U.S. are now tied up due to protests against pandemic mandates.

On Wednesday morning, a section of Highway 402 that leads to Sarnia’s Bluewater Bridge crossing was closed, Ontario Provincial Police reported.

Toronto police close Queen’s Park Circle in response to possible convoy protest

Toronto police are closing a roadway near Queen’s Park Wednesday because of social media posts “announcing a possible demonstration” in the city.

The closures come a few days after a large protest against public health measures meant to curb the spread of COVID-19 took place in the downtown core.

Ottawa police say almost 25 per cent of the 418 trucks still involved in the ongoing demonstration downtown have children in them, which has hampered the force’s response and led to concerns about the children’s safety.

Police provided an update Tuesday afternoon where Deputy Chief Steve Bell said officers have issued more tickets, made more arrests, and launched dozens more criminal investigations during what they call an “occupation” of the downtown core, now in its 12th day.
