Soros Group Objects to Front Page Magazine Headline Linking Him to Devil, Marilyn Mosby

The indictment of Baltimore DA Marilyn Mosby on fraud and perjury charges was reported on The Point at Front Page Magazine shortly after it happened with a number of follow-ups, including this post, “Soros DA Marilyn Mosby’s Indictment Blamed on Racism, the Devil.”

For unclear reasons, perhaps the mention of the devil, the Soros network was not happy and I received a request for a correction from BerlinRosen acting on behalf of “Justice & Public Safety PAC, the political action committee primarily funded by George Soros”, which asserted that “Mr. Soros has not — directly or indirectly — backed or supported or contributed to Ms. Mosby.”

Never fully in but never fully out, Quebec has always had an awkward status in Canada. Fiercely protective of its French identity, it has long flirted with separating from its anglophone motherland  but, a bit like Scotland, the support was never quite there. Also like Scotland, it has, throughout the pandemic, tried to flex its (limited) autonomy over health policy by consistently pushing for more restrictions than the national government.

Data scientist Zac Kriegman was fired by Thomson Reuters after questioning the false claims of the BLM movement.

The Black Lives Matter narrative is powerful and emotive: black Americans, it says, are being murdered in large numbers by a racist police force. This narrative was repeated and amplified by the media in the days and months following the horrific murder of George Floyd. But what if it isn’t actually true? According to data scientist Zac Kriegman, the statistical evidence is just not there. Last May, Kriegman posted an essay criticising BLM’s claims and his employer, Thomson Reuters, for treating them as established facts. This set in motion a chain of events that led to his firing. spiked caught up with Kriegman to find out what happened.

Jesse Kline: The case for breaking up the CBC

For the first time in a long while, there appears to be broad support, on both sides of the political spectrum, for reforming the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In a long-overdue move, the Liberals have pledged to make the broadcaster “less reliant on private advertising.” But they will do it in a decidedly Liberal way: by increasing its funding, as if the scads of public money the CBC already gets isn’t enough. The CBC has strayed so far from its mandate that the only way to truly modernize it is to privatize most of its assets.

3 Canadians shot, 1 killed, at Mexican resort: local officials

 

The Quintana Roo state prosecutor’s office said on Twitter that the suspect in the shooting also was apparently a guest. It said it had been informed by Canadian police that the suspect has a history of robbery, drug and weapons offenses.

One Canadian has been killed and two others injured in a shooting at a Mexican resort near Playa del Carmen on Friday, local officials have reported.

Quintana Roo state security secretary Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez confirmed the triple shooting on Twitter.

The shooting took place at a hotel in Xcaret, Mexico. All three of those injured were identified as Canadian and Gutiérrez said they were immediately transferred to hospital, where one died.

Former Buckingham Palace maid Charlotte Briggs today defended her Prince Andrew revelations and attacked him for being a ‘horrible man.’

Ms Briggs, 47, said she had no regrets about speaking out over the Duke’s ‘demanding and entitled’ foul-mouthed rants, which she claimed left her in tears.

Speaking to MailOnline in her hometown of Halifax, West Yorkshire, she said: ‘I don’t give a toss what Prince Andrew feels… he is a horrible, nasty man.’

The Russia-China Axis of Authoritarianism: Part I Testing Western Resolve in Ukraine and Taiwan

As Russia continues its troop build-up along the border with Ukraine, China has markedly increased its military activity near Taiwan. The twin geopolitical flashpoints, separated by 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles), are raising concerns that Russia and China could coordinate or conduct concurrent military offensives that the United States and its allies may find difficult to stop.

A failure to deter Russia and China — deterrence, especially military pre-positioning near the area under threat, is the least costly way to avoid war — would deal a potentially crushing blow to the post-World War II liberal international order. That system, whose principles and norms — including adherence to the rule of law, respect for human rights and the promotion of liberal democracy, as well as preserving the sanctity of territorial sovereignty and existing boundaries — has regulated the conduct of international relations for nearly 80 years.

Federal Government Mum on Non-COVID Mortality Spike in Americans Aged 18 to 49

Federal authorities have yet to respond to an Epoch Times analysis that shows a dramatic increase in deaths of 18- to 49-year-olds in the United States in the past year. The majority of those deaths weren’t associated with the COVID-19 disease.

Deaths in this age group rose more than 40 percent in the 12 months ending October 2021 compared to the same period in 2018–2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the analysis of death certificate data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

2/3 of Canadians Favour Mandatory Vax, Quarter Support Jailing Unvaxed

Over a quarter of Canadians support putting unvaccinated people in jail for jab refusal, while two-thirds say they would support mandatory vaccinations for all residents over the age of five.

A poll released this week by the Canadian firm Maru Public Opinion claims that 27 per cent of the Canadian public would support the government putting people in prison for a short time simply for being unvaccinated.

China brings back anal swab testing for Covid two weeks before Winter Olympics begin

China has brought back anal swab testing to screen for Covid-19 in a bid to stop the spread of the Omicron variant, just two weeks before the Beijing Winter Olympics begin.

At least 27 people underwent the controversial anal swab tests at an apartment building in Beijing where a 26-year-old woman had contracted Omicron, the city’s first recorded case of the variant, according to Chinese newspaper The Beijing News.

The anal tests involve inserting a sterile cotton swab up to two inches (5cm) into the rectum and rotating it several times. The swab is then removed before being analysed in a lab.
