Recently uncovered software flaw ‘most critical vulnerability of the last decade’

A critical vulnerability in a widely used software tool – one quickly exploited in the online game Minecraft – is rapidly emerging as a major threat to organizations around the world.

“The internet’s on fire right now,” said Adam Meyers, senior vice-president of intelligence at the cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike. “People are scrambling to patch”, he said, “and all kinds of people scrambling to exploit it.” He said on Friday morning that in the 12 hours since the bug’s existence was disclosed, it had been “fully weaponized”, meaning malefactors had developed and distributed tools to exploit it.

Biden on Approval Ratings: People Are Getting ‘Inaccurate Information‘ ‘About Their Situation‘ and Are Worried about COVID

On Friday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Tonight Show,” President Joe Biden said that part of the issue with his approval ratings is that “people are getting so much inaccurate information to them. I don’t mean about me, but about their situation.” And are “being told that Armageddon’s on the way. The truth is, the economy’s growing more than it has at any time in close to 60 years.” Biden also stated that fear of coronavirus is another reason for people being worried and acknowledged that there is inflation in areas that impact people.

Transgenderism: It’s time to state the obvious

Dr. Rachel Levine was appointed by President Joe Biden in October as a four-star admiral, the highest-ranking official in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Dr. Levine also serves as the HHS Assistant Secretary for Health. Levine’s background is as a pediatrician. In a rich bit of irony, not only is Levine the first transgender person to serve in the uniformed health service as a four-star senior officer but is also the first “woman” to serve in that capacity.

Until age 53, Rachel Levine lived life as a man. Richard Levine was born with all-male parts and with male chromosomes. In 2011 however, he decided he was a she. A divorce followed, but so did Levine’s public fortunes. Levine served in public health positions in Pennsylvania for several years to mixed reviews.

As reported by The Stanford Daily, the Stanford University Department of Public Safety believes that the ropes had been present for up to two years.

Melanie Joly has no business being foreign affairs minister

Canada finally joined the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Britain in their “diplomatic” boycott of China’s Winter Olympics.

Also welcome is the departure of Canadian ambassador to China, Dominic Barton, whose closeness to China’s political and economic elite should have disqualified him from ever becoming ambassador in the first place. He, along with Canada’s powerful business elite that does business with China, gave Canada a geopolitical black eye by convincing the hapless Liberals to say or do nothing in retaliation for the kidnapping of two innocent Canadian businessmen and loss of billions in contracts.

A diplomatic boycott is a garbage cop-out man!

Nicaragua embracing China to insulate against international sanctions

Another shining example of a Hollywood fave doing Communism right!

WASHINGTON, Dec 10 (Reuters) – Nicaragua’s sudden diplomatic switch from Taiwan to China was part of efforts by President Daniel Ortega’s government to shield itself from recent international sanctions against Managua, a senior U.S. administration official said on Friday.

The United States is also uncertain whether Honduras could follow suit and open diplomatic ties with Beijing, the U.S. official told Reuters, but added Washington was ready to “surge” economic aid to the incoming government of Xiomara Castro.

Be afraid… forever

It’s hard to look that in the eye. But the worst of COVID is yet to come

… It is difficult for the human mind to grasp; part of it is the pure bloody wall of exponential mathematics. The numbers seem imaginary. Sander explains: In places like South Africa, Denmark, Germany and the UK, in different populations, Omicron doubled every three to four days, or faster. That’s about a 400 percent increase in one week. Ontario chief medical officer Dr Kieran Moore said Omicron currently accounts for about 10 percent of recent cases. That would mean about 145 Omicron cases in Ontario on Friday.

With a 400% increase each week, Sander points out that the numbers do something like this: 145 today, 600 in one week, 2,400 in two weeks, 9,600 in three weeks. It would be New Years Eve, and unhindered, that would mean nearly 40,000 cases per day per week after that. We were already on schedule to cancel surgeries with a Delta wave only. Based on predicted growth charts, Omicron could become the predominant variant in Ontario within 10 days, and it will be an Omicron pandemic by early 2022.

“We won’t even have the capacity to test,” says Dr. Andrew Morris, professor of infectious diseases at the University of Toronto and member of the science table. “And the public is not ready to close the doors tomorrow. Whatever the right thing to do, you can’t do it. But I’m pretty sure everyone in the next six to 12 weeks will be infected with Omicron, unless they live the life of a hermit. It’s just the reality.

This is a Star piece. Lets hope the science is wrong again.

Actual Female Swimmer at UPenn Says Team’s Support for Transgender Swimmer Is ‘Fake’

The authoritarian Left demands absolute conformity to its beliefs, no matter how absurd they are, and harshly punishes those who dare to step out of line. And so, everyone who sees transgender UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas smashing records that were set by human beings who were actually born female is supposed to applaud happily and exclaim, “You go, girl!”

Canada threatens new tariffs on U.S. exports if it approves EV tax credit

Hates Justin too.

Canada is threatening a retaliatory barrage of punitive tariffs and to reverse a number of dairy-related trade concessions if the United States goes through with its controversial plan to encourage the development and sale of U.S.-made electric vehicles.

In a stern letter dated Friday to key members of the Senate leadership, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Trade Minister Mary Ng promised to impose tariffs on a raft of U.S.-made products if President Joe Biden’s tax credit proposal becomes law.

They said the proposal amounts to a 34 per cent tariff on electric vehicles assembled in Canada and violates the terms of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA.

I think Biden’s handlers hate Justin. Who doesn’t?  Perhaps a lecture on the need to legislate mandatory transgender EV Battery assembly would help open US eyes. Looks like the Dairy cartel stands to gain, so there’s that.

Jussie Smollett will likely get less than a year of jail time, legal experts say

Jussie Smollett will probably be sentenced to less than a year behind bars for staging a race-baiting attack in Chicago — if he gets any time at all, legal experts predicted Friday.

Cook County Judge James Linn Winn will likely consider that Smollett lied on the stand and was motivated by self-promotion when delivering a punishment, according to lawyers and a former Illinois judge.

“If it was me, I would give him a taste of jail time, and sentence him to 1,000 hours of community service in a year,” former Illinois Judge David Erickson told The Post.

Ontario reports 1607 new Covid cases … and fully vaccinated is never?

Ontario reports 1607 new Covid cases … and fully vaccinated is never?

Ontario reports 1,607 new COVID-19 cases; highest case count in nearly 7 months

Ontario reported more than 1,600 new COVID-19 cases and five more virus-related deaths on Saturday, marking the highest single-day case count in nearly seven months.

Provincial health officials logged 1,607 new coronavirus infections today, up from 1,453 on Friday and from 1,053 a week ago.

Fully vaccinated: How many doses will it take, and how will Canada decide?

As provinces continue to ramp up booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, questions are arising over whether the booster could be considered as part of the full series of vaccines — and necessary for a Canadian to be considered “fully vaccinated.”

The consideration to add a third dose to the “primary series” in mRNA vaccines could potentially cause widespread changes to public health measures — including vaccine admissions to restaurants and other businesses. It also comes amid the spread of a possibly more infectious Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Ghislaine Maxwell: Key moments in the trial so far

Prosecutors at Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial called her Jeffrey Epstein’s “partner in crime” as they wrapped up two weeks of testimony in federal court in New York.

The British socialite, 59, is accused of grooming teenage girls for abuse by the late Epstein. She’s pleaded not guilty to all the charges, which cover a period from 1994 to 2004.

The first fortnight of the trial heard emotional testimony from some of the alleged victims of Epstein and Ms Maxwell. But there were also claims that Ms Maxwell was being targeted because Epstein, whose 2019 death in jail was ruled to be a suicide, could no longer face trial himself.

Some are surprised at the prosecutors quick wrap up, the trial was expected to last up to 6 weeks. Speculation is that the case is weak.
